When fixing fallen off nails, the nail technician put a wrong color one that was slightly off, which I only noticed at home.

Horrible experience, worst nail salon I've been to masquerading as a luxury destination for nails. Beware of all the positive reviews: there is a sign on wall advertising leaving a 5 star review to get points for discounts which is deceptive practice (is that even legal under FTC rules?). I came in on my birthday early April and wanted a carefree experience for the next few weeks. I got a GelX on my short nails, just as I had in other top salons, only for 3 nails to fall off in about 2 weeks. Even on the day of manicure the thumb finger was left messy, but I only saw it in the car. Came in again and showed them nails, same tech was there who worked on me, she was nice enough and polite, but clearly is not a good specialist. She put the 3 new nails on for free, I gave her yet another tip, but after getting home I realized the color was a shade off (see pics). So I ended up with something really far from ideal that caused issues. They all eventually fell off, while my nails never did that at other places until I would come in for a new set in a month. I recommend Maison in Pasadena if you want flawless luxury.

Hi! Next time please educate your nail techs (Kelly) to not ask people if they're pregnant. That totally ruined the nail experience at your salon and made me uncomfortable, as there was no reason for her to ask that, especially that being her first question into doing my nails...Thank you.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. I called to see if they would accept a walk in at 7:15pm 45 mins before closing time. They said that is acceptable. Upon arrival I was sent horrible text messages from this company. Beware they do not respect their clients and belittle them.

I had the pleasure of receiving a full service at Powder Beauty through a close recommendation As I'm incredibly meticulous, I was relieved to have Amy as my technician, who far exceeded my expectations. She is thorough, professional and highly skilled in her craft. Her attention to detail and diligence gained a client indefinitely! I also had a fantastic pedicure by THE lovely Patricia! The whole team is very attentive and admirable. If you are seeking QUALITY work and white-glove service, this is the establishment for you!!

    Dip manicure by Amy
    Regina M.

I had an excellent experience at Powder Beauty last week after I got a dip manicure and gel pedicure. They have a great selection of gel colors, which can also be added to dip. Amy, the owner did my manicure, and I got a chance to chat with her about how she's curated a peaceful and relaxing vibe for the salon (very true!), as it is quiet, there aren't a lot of people in the salon at one time (also true!), and the chairs are really comfy (totally accurate!). I enjoyed my coffee from the coffee bar and even got a little buddy on my lap, Amy's cute dog. I love supporting women-owned businesses, and in a city where there are nail salons galore, Powder Beauty stands out. One thing I want to mention is that I noticed many reviews criticizing the price. This isn't a corporation; it's a one-woman show at ROW DTLA, which is undergoing redevelopment, and rent isn't cheap. I know most people don't care, but it's essential for people to understand that everything has increased in price and to show a little more empathy. Also, the prices are listed on the website. Negative reviews significantly impact a person's business. By the way, if anyone thinks I was asked to write this, I wasn't. I have a lot of love for women-run salons, especially in a city where it's so hard to get one started on your own.

Japanese Hard Gel selections at Powder Beauty Co.

Hands down, the BEST Nail Salon & Boutique in Los Angeles. Rated as a top salon in luxury magazines, I have never received such five star luxury nail care services as I have with Powder Beauty Co. Amy is my go-to nail tech for her careful attention to detail, however I feel safe in their entire team's hands. Melissa & Lily are both amazing, and there is no shortage of welcoming good vibes every time I walk through the door. With that said, their selection of beauty services is unparalleled, and their polishes are absolutely gorgeous. Be sure to experience their hard gel manicures with an incredible selection of stunning Japanese gel polishes! Like, woah, I'm in heaven. I'll definitely be back because quite frankly, there is no better full service nail boutique quite like Powder Beauty Co. Luxury Lindsey approved !

I had a "rubber manicure" by Amy. Within a day, my middle was off and two nails were chipped. Also, she'd used a drill to remove my gel manicure! She insisted, even after I begged her not to use it because I'm trying to grow my nails out. I'm shocked by all the positive reviews. The salon charged for everything - including $8 to make a tiny glue fix. Never step foot in this place.

    Herbal Awakening pedi

Took my wife with me together to enjoy our pedi self-caring time. This salon is so amazing with nice decor and very convenient & cheap & easy parking, nice stuff and especially the service quality they provided. I booked one Bourbon&Black pepper and another Herbal awakening both premium pedi for us. The nail techs really took their time to do each step, and I really like they can offer sugar scrub, feet mask and keratin foot socks. These are sooo amazing. I felt I have my new feet and be a new man. Really appreciate we can find this place and highly recommend it, we will be definitely come back very soon!!!! Nice job.

They did not email me at least an hour before the appointment. Can't not call customers through class pass

IF YOU USE CLASS PASS!!!!! PLZ READ!!!! I made an appointment through class pass for a pedi and eyebrows wax. Before booking any kind of spa appointment I look at any kind of social media reviews. They had good reviews so I decided to book an appointment at Powder Beauty through class pass. I book the appointment at 10:30am. It took me about 40 minutes to get there. Finding the building was a bit hard. I called at 10:10am telling them I was here and that I needed help finding the exact spot. When I called they told me to wait outside because they couldn't see me until 11am. They said that the class pass only gives them the customer's email, not their phone number. They told me that they sent me an email about my appointment being moved. When I checked through my emails I saw they sent the email to me at 10am. They did not email me at least an hour or two before my appointment. When I went to my appointment my brows wax went well. The Pedi was good as well. I can see why they have good reviews the Pedi was calming. The only thing I am disappointed with is with the customer service. When I got to finally check in for my appointment. This other girl was checking in for her appointment that she made through class pass. The lady told her that they were fully booked today that they emailed her to reschedule her appointment for the following day. She was upset. They didnt send her an email at least with time! The lady only told the customer to just call ClassPass. I went ahead and told her that I also got my appointment changed. She said that she couldn't do anything about it because she had two different bookings. She said that class pass are hard because they only get the customer's email. I told her that she should make an Instagram post explaining that she doesn't get customers' class pass phone numbers and only email. That appointment might change if you book through a class pass. She could make an Instagram post. Or post something on yelp. Or put it on their website. I strongly feel that alone would help a lot. Talking with her she said she gets a lot of upset customers that book through class pass. I offered the idea of using social media to address that problem. She said " I don't know it's hard " I then said then don't be a part of class pass if its that hard she said " I get majority of my customers from ClassPass." Now! The people that are giving majority of there money come from class pass! THEN WHY NOT DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!! MAKE AN INSTAGRAM POST! POST IT ON YELP!PUT IT ON YOUR WEBSITE!!!! Anywhere?!?!?!? Technology now is very advanced. Why not use their platforms?

Amazing place. Came here for a mother daughter day on Valentine's day and the staff were amazing. Highest quality stuff used all around. Definitely recommended.

    Pedi

Average experience, INSANE prices... I booked on classpass so I didn't expect to pay a ton on top. I booked the anti-aging mani and pedi because I've never heard it before and wanted to give it a try to see what's different but it felt like a pretty basic mani and pedi. I always get a gel French tip toes because it lasts so long so when they charged $15 extra for gel I thought ok that's fine. They didn't tell me until the end that French tip is $20 extra... I've never paid more than $10 extra for French tip but ok. So I choose a nail polish for my manicure and they're like oh this is a fast drying polish brand that lasts longer so that's $10 extra... okay sure $10 doesn't sound insane? But after I'm thinking ok I should've just got gel at that point... so at this point we're talking $45 EXTRA! When I asked how much the service is originally they said the anti-aging mani and pedi are $55 and $65... $120+$45+ $30 tip because the girl was sweet and that took 2 hours of her life. But walking out I was like holy shit $195 total for a gel French tip pedicure and a basic manicure... maybe I am tripping but I feel like that's INSANE. At least the girls are sweet but damn I should've just gone into another salon and not limited myself to class pass options I feel like that was crazy

Extremely unprofessional. I booked a manicure using Classpass. There is a $55 cancellation fee if you cancel less than 12 hours before the service. Around 5pm I get an email asking me to reschedule to later in the day. The email did not indicate that the time was not available. Just asking me if I was available at a later time. At 8 PM when I saw the email I texted the number that they requested that I text indicating that I was not available at noon I did not hear back until nearly 11 PM meaning that I would miss the cancellation window. The owner (?) asked me to cancel anyway ignoring the fact that I would be charged money for a service that I wouldn't even receive. Not only did she text me late at night, she had the audacity to say that I was not being "nice." If I had not since her 10:48pm message, I would've arrived for my 9:30 AM appointment since that slot was made available. If they don't have available times, they should not make it an option to book those appointments and they definitely should not send rude and unprofessional messages to would be customers. Beware if you are someone who plans and who values their time.

Amy did my gel x nails about 4/5 weeks ago and they still look Great ! I love your work!!

How much is for dip powder plus gel pedicure?

Hi Diana. $94 total. A dip powder manicure on natural nails is $44, and our nontoxic gel pedicure starts at $50.

Hi! Do you offer nail art with dipping powder?

Hi, thanks for your question. We do offer art with dip powder. Designs using actual powder are mostly limited to ombré and french. However, we do a variety of designs in gel over a dip powder base color. Always make sure to let us know you’d like to… Read more

Correct dip method first uses a white base powder before the color powder and does NOT cure afterwards with a uv light; is this how dip is done here?

We dip the traditional way at Powder. We use a natural set powder as the base before colored powder is applied. That powder is more sheer than it is white. We then use sealer and top coat to cure. No UV or LED lights are used in the process.

How long do your nails need to be for dipped powder? I have really short nails but they are not stubby?

Mine are the same and they were dipped and looked great.

How long does it take for the dip powder polish to dry completely? I usually do gel mani/pedi because the polish dries fast. I'm one of those people who mess up a regular polish no matter how long I let them dry.

Dip nail polish dries right away and stays on longer! I have been doing it for 8 months and I love it.

How much is the mimosa bar add on or did a customer bring that in for her party?

Hi Samantha! A customer brought that in for a private event. Would be a super cute add-on though. Something to think about :)

How much is a fill for your dip nails with extentions?

Hi, unfortunately, we don't fill our dip manicures, but we do offer extensions with dip powder for $64.

Is it possible to have sns soaked off without filing with the drill?

they've only soaked when I've gone

Do you do extension dip powder nails?

    Hi! Yes, we do.

Do you do gel manis and what is the cost?

    Great nail bar!!!!

Do you use acetone to remove the powder? If not, what products do you use for removal?

Hi Jai. Powder removal does require acetone. Our powder removal is normally done in 3 steps. First, we file off the top layer of dip powder. We then wrap your nails using foil, acetone and cotton. Finally, we place warm towels over your hands to… Read more

    Do you sell gift cards?

Hi Sophia. Yes, we sell gift certificates. You can come in and make the purchase, do it over the phone or email info@powderbeautyco.com. It can then be emailed or you can pick up a physical copy.

Dip mani is 44? How much for a regular pedicure or if there's a combo price for the dip mani and pedicure? Thank you!

Hi Jennifer, a regular polish pedicure is $35. There's not a discounted combo price for a dip powder mani/polish pedi, but there is a discounted price for a Trio Combo which includes a dip mani, polish pedi and facial for $109.

How much will a full set & dip powder cost?

Hi Natalie! A dip powder manicure is $44 and a full set of extensions is $20, so it would be $64 total.

How much does an sns powder cost?

Hi Sarah, a dip powder manicure costs $44.

How long does the powder manicure stay on for?

Hi Felesha. A powder dip manicure can last anywhere from 2-4 weeks, on average 3. We suggest getting your manicure redone after 3 weeks simply because of the growth you’ll experience.

Do they use pedicure tub liners and sterilized tools?

Yes! We use pedicure liners with every pedicure. We also sterilize each copper tub after every use. Every tool we use for pedicures, manicures, and facials is autoclaved individually and we double that with UV sterilization on top of that. We know… Read more
