Last Sunday we had a "double" food poisoning on our takeout for our group. My daughter's boyfriend had shrimp lomein and was throwing up that night. I had Shrimp Kong Bo and enjoyed it. But I was worried about my food. I had bought a quart of hot and sour soup to eat later in the week so it was put in the refrigerator. I heated up half in the microwave around 2 PM Monday afternoon and was starting to get sick a couple of hours later. I ended up being sick that night and the next day. I stupidly soups have thrown out so the food but instead I was thinking it was just the shrimp. On Wednesday I had the soup heater up again and sure enough a couple of hours later I'm curled up in stomach pains and throwing up. That was another sick day. So I was very sick 2 nights and then couldn't sleep and had diarrhea issues for the days after. I've never felt that bad from food that I can remember. I'm going to report this to the local health authorities. Hartford needs a healthy Chinese food location. I don't think this place is it. Others in our group had no problem, which is great. But 2 of 8 orders had people get sick. read more

Took my mom to this buffet on a Sunday. We went at 12:00. The food was horrible. Not fresh at all even tho they just opened. So over priced for the Buffett. Will never go back nor would I suggest this place to anyone. read more

Here is where they excel... friendly fast service, large buffet selection, extensive fruit and dessert selections on buffet, very kid friendly, typical Americanized Chinese food, relaxed atmosphere. The all you can eat buffet is what we get every time and we have been there about 12 times over the years. If you want to go to somewhere and just eat, this is your place. It's well worn and comfortable. If you are looking for fancy decor, ambience, authentic Chinese food, or high end dishes, this is not that. We love this place and its dive like qualities. The food and service has declined over the past few months. Staff yells to each other constantly making it difficult to hear the person you are with, or enjoy a meal. The restaurant opens at 1100, but no food is available until 1130 - 1145. Food is often cold, and overcooked. Better choices for your money. read more

07-30-2025. I treated the misses to a meal here today. I was really impressed with the prices being what they are for an all-you-can-eat visit. Aside from the great prices, the food is delicious. While the place is rundown and the food is similar to other Chinese places, I really appreciate the staff. They always make sure my cup is full and the used plates are cleared from the table. When I get a pick up order, my food is always ready on time. I love a good small town Chinese buffet, and this one fits that bill. read more

I will start by saying I don't like when Chinese restaurants throw any random veggies into a dish, and leave out what should be there. It's not as bad if the veggies they use dont drastically change or affect the taste/flavors that should be. I ordered Mongolian beef. Had onions and green bell peppers?!?! No scallions at all. No recipe I have ever seen had green peppers. No restaurant I've ever gotten it at (I'm 53, so been eating Chinese food for over 30 years) has had green peppers. It imparted a taste that was not complimentary to what it should be, not to mention leaving out what should be there. I can't overlook that as it becomes something different when you do that. My other beef was the beef- it seemed of a lower quality and I found numerous pieces I had to rip apart with my fingers because chewing it wouldn't even break up the tough parts. In my opinion, this is a lower quality restaurant and I won't be returning. Can't speak to anything else on the menu, but this was a poor representation of what they have to offe read more

Out for lunch with a friend in Hartford and she mentioned going for some Chinese food. Sure, I was down with that so we headed over to the little local strip mall to get some Chinese food. Not knowing what to expect I was pleasantly surprised at how large the place was inside this little strip and the variety of items they had on their lunch buffet. The more variety,the better for me so I can try different things. They had everything from salad to desserts and everything you can think of in between. I can't express enough how impressed I was with the selection. Loved the Peanut Chicken - Yum! Vegetable spring rolls were tasty too. One whole line was main food and the other was all the extras like rolls, salad, fruits, pudding, desserts and then ice cream all for $8.95. Good deal. So when you are in the Hartford area and looking for some good Chinese food, head on over to the Evergreen in the strip mall by Country Market and chow down, it's good food for a good price. Typical buffet food. It's a gamble as to how fresh it is. I had some pieces of peanut chicken that were hard and dry. The donut I had was stale and tough. Everything else was just belly-fill, nothing of notable quality. The place is kind of dumpy and the crowd, I suspect, is from a nearby trailer park. Sadly disappointed, but we were in a hurry and made a bad decision. If you go, order off the menu or get carryout. read more

Buffet style restaurant tucked into a nondescript strip mall. It's relatively hard to produce bad Chinese food, but this just wasn't good. The lack of flavor was surprising. Apparently good Chinese food isn't common in this area. We have yet to find anything above 2-3 stars. read more

Six of us came for lunch today and had the buffet. There isn't an amazing number of choices but everything we ate, was fantastic. Egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoons, string beans, General Tso's chicken were all great. The food was hot. The restaurant was clean. The hostess was friendly. We all cleaned our plates off and didn't experience any 'scrap' pieces. We will definitely come again for the $6.75 buffet. read more

Another Disappointing Chinese restaurant. When are people going to stop eating such garbage, five of us stopped to eat we love Chinese food however this is the worst we had ever tried. The food is cooked in a bland sauce and does not resemble Chinese food at all. I wouldn't mind if they didn't call it Chinese as in China the food is not at all like this, please wake up and force people to cook real Chinese food, which I think is the best food in the world, and people here would agree if they ever got to try it. read more

We aren't buffet people but were hungry for Chinese and this was the only place open in the area. Are glad we decided to stop in. We ordered entrees to go and they were very good. I had the cashew chicken and asked them to add mushrooms. It was fantastic! My boyfriend's Hunan chicken was spicy like he likes it. And we both enjoyed the cream Rangoon! Very good Chinese food. Cold food, but cheap. 9.75 for all you can eat buffet. Not very impressive food but if you're looking for a quick meal it works out fine.

So much bad things about this place. Took my niece here to eat and she got food poisoning and so did my friend. Don't have waiters if they can't speak English! They stare and it's awkward 1. Poor quality 2. Everything's in oil or frozen 3. Not sanitary (found a bug in broccoli still alive) 4 even if it was clean I still wouldn't go back because food taste like generic UNauthentic Chinese food!!! It's hard to find good Chinese food in some areas. I must say I am impressed with Ever Green. I did takeout and their smallest portions on the menu is actually a very large portion! Great taste as well. Well defiantly have to go back to try their buffet! read more
