SENIORS BE AWARE OF THIS --This review is about setting up service with Evergreen which I found to be very confusing. Because I don't do Facebook it was difficult to find details for my southern Maryland region. The info I did find turned out to be dated, no longer in effect, including services printed in my customer agreement contract letter. For example: although it was implied otherwise, recycling is not available in my community (found this out after I signed up and paid), you can no longer use your own garbage can here or anything smaller than a 64 gallon can. Although my service agreement says I can use a 30 gallon can. Nope Seniors, especially, be aware of this (which may vary depending on your location): I was automatically delivered a 96 gallon trash can which can hold 7 kitchen bags worth of trash!! It's huge and the can itself with its wheels, metal bars, and thick plastic is hard to wheel even when empty. I am a 76 year old female with a bad back and an uphill driveway. The first time when I mostly filled the container, I was practically in tears struggling to push/pull this can up to the road. For my second weekly pickup, I only had 3 fairly light kitchen can bags and they filled less than half the can. Easier but still difficult. I figured I might end up pushing the can to the road and hand-carrying each bag to the can! Pretty ridiculous and certainly nothing to make my life easier as I expected. They do offer a 64 gallon can which is being delivered to me next week. I hope it will be doable because we really have no other options here now. We carried our trash to our local transfer station which was free for 35 years but that is not possible for us anymore. Companies like Evergreen need to consider what percentage of potential customers can't handle these huge commercial trash bins and offer some consideration for seniors. read more

I have been a customer for about a year and I haven't had any complaints. Cans are picked up on designated days on time and when called customer service to seek additional information and or clarification the representatives have been polite and helpful. Overall, good company to utilize. read more

I'm giving this company two stars because of how they handled my complaint. The customer service was disappointing, and instead of working toward a solution, I felt like my concerns were dismissed. A message to the manager, Mr. Nick: I encourage you to invest in leadership and customer service training. Strong communication and problem-solving skills go a long way in resolving customer issues professionally. Here's what happened: In 2022, I signed up with Evergreen Disposal for twice-weekly trash pickup on Tuesdays and Fridays. For the past five years, that was the service I received. On Friday, June 26, 2026, my trash was not picked up. I initially assumed it was due to a missed payment, but I brought my account current. Then, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, my trash was missed again. When I called customer service, both the representative and Mr. Nick told me that my service was only supposed to include Friday pickups and that the Tuesday pickups had been provided "as a courtesy" for the past five years. That explanation simply doesn't make sense. If I had been receiving Tuesday pickups consistently for five years, it's reasonable to believe that was part of the service I originally signed up for. It was frustrating to suddenly be told otherwise and that I would now have to pay extra to continue receiving the same level of service. Because of this experience, I decided to cancel my service with Evergreen Disposal. My advice to potential customers is to keep copies of your service agreement, document all communications, and verify exactly what services you're paying for. It could save you from a similar situation in the future. read more

The service has been reliable. They charge quite a bit less than the competition for the same service. They do employ door-to-door salesmen to capture new business. If you do not like to be solicited, you may not have a good experience. But in my case, the sales guy was straight forward, made his pitch and I went for it. I am pleased with the service. Their billing is not as automated as some of the bigger outfits, but I am okay with that since they appear to be a small business attempting to grow. read more

The door to door salesmen are either liars or genuinely ignorant. They come to the door claiming to be collecting basic contact info for a listserv or interest guage. However, they are really using it to enter you into a service agreement. Although their form says "NOT A CONTRACT", it clearly states the stipulation that service will start on X date at X rate. Evergreen Disposal services have recently acquired Garby Disposal Services and my experience was horrible. First of all, their cans are very ugly. Second of all, One day I came home and my Garby cans were gone (this was after they were acquired) and Garby was acquired for a while then. I contacted customer service and they said my account had been closed. What?? My account has been set to autopay. They then said I would have to wait almost a week to get new cans back. Oh, and I didn't even mention, The rate went up by more than $20.00 then when I had Garby. Now, I have to go through the hassle of calling a bunch of other services and finding the best rate to switch too. THANKS A LOT EVERGREEN. Would not recommend. read more

Monday 10/6/25: We only did 4 days with them before canceling; we didn't even hesitate paying the $75 for them to pick up their cans and we let them keep our prepaid quarter. They're new to our area and we had a door-to-door salesman come by. We were promised things that didn't come true during the first week. We were given 1 trash can, 1 recycling can, 2 stickers we could put on our own cans for trash, and 2 stickers for yard waste to put on cans. On our service day, Evergreen missed 2 of our trashcans with the stickers on them. We called and they said they would come again. We've been looking at the cans all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday. It is now Monday. When we called, the guy confirmed it was marked incomplete and they could come today. You should've already come for trash pick up? It's already Monday 2PM. I don't want to babysit a paid service. read more

From the moment I reached out to Evergreen to set up our account, they were incredibly easy to contact, communicate with, and schedule service. Our trash cans even arrived much earlier than expected, which was a pleasant surprise, especially since the previous company didn't even provide us with trash cans! Evergreen Disposal sends out email schedules well in advance, keeping us informed about any changes to our pickup route. This proactive communication is so helpful and thoughtful. We have never had a missed pickup, and they consistently go above and beyond with our trash and recycling, even when we might have a bit too much at times. I remain thoroughly impressed with Evergreen, especially after the terrible experience we had with the previous company, which would claim to have picked up our trash while, in reality, they hadn't, yet still charged us for it. Evergreen is a reliable business, and I'm so grateful we found them. It's important to highlight the hard work and courtesy of both the administrative and manual employees--qualities that are quite rare these days. Evergreen gives off the vibe of a small business that truly cares, even though I know they're a larger company. While I may not consider this a necessary selling point for a disposal company, I must mention that their trucks are the cleanest I've seen in this neighborhood. This is especially noteworthy compared to many other trash companies operating here, whose trucks often look worn. Evergreen consistently stands out, embodying excellence every time. I called them for service, and they charged me $105.00, and they were supposed to deliver trash cans to my house in April. I never received the trash can, and they never provided me with trash collection services. I called them in June when I got a bill from them for my refund, but they refused because I did not call soon enough. I will never use them again. read more

Let me add another one star (can't go lower) review. This company is extremely aggressive. They descended on our neighborhood going door-to-door even though there are No Solicitation signs posted. I told them I wasn't interested in their new customer "teaser" rate, which my current provider matched. Yesterday, someone else showed up trying to get me to convert service. They showed me a map of the area identifying all their customers (not sure if those customers agreed to expose their relationship). I reminded him that it is unlawful to solicit in a posted neighborhood. The sales team ignores no soliciting signs and are rude and aggressive. They come on your property, read the no soliciting sign, and ring the doorbell anyway. Then after it is pointed out they try and question you anyway. read more

I never leave bad reviews, but this was a HORRIBLE experience with this company. In the short amount of time paying for their service, they failed to make any attempt to pick up our trash SEVEN TIMES. On the last complainant, they claimed that they put us on the "supervisor list" to make sure it didn't happen again and then immediately still managed to fail us yet again the following week. Additionally, the last time they actually picked up the trash, they threw the can in the middle of my cul de sac about 20 feet from my driveway which seemed to be done intentionally. Evergreen Disposal came by our home with a good sales pitch and a reasonable price. So, we left our old company for Evergreen. I am sorry we did. We had no issues with our old servicer (American Disposal). Once we switched, Evergreen had a 54% fulfillment rate on their services over a three month period. They missed either trash, recycle or both nearly half the time. When I called, they would come out a day or two later to correct the missed pickups. Evergreen offered a credit for missed pickups when it was impractical to come out due to the next scheduled pickup time. I spoke with several levels of management to rectify the issue. Finally, I was told a member of management would call on the day following trash service to verify pickup. I never received a call. The next call I received was someone telling me that they will be canceling my service because my street is too narrow and there was a power line running parallel to the road at my neighbors home. UPS, Republic Trash service and American Disposal are all able to navigate the street. I asked for a refund and was told that I would hear back from management. Once again, no response. I guess since I prepaid, I won't see the price adjustment they promised for the missed pickups, let alone a refund. I will be going back to American Disposal who never missed a pickup and is comparably priced. Save the aggravation and skip Evergreen. read more

If I could put zero stars, I would... They signed me up on a door to door visits, but in the end I decided to stay with my old company and called them to cancel. They insisted on charging a $75 fee for pick up of their containers even though the service did not even start and their contract clearly stated that $75 fee was only applicable for price-shopping in the first year of service. I call Evergreen and a person answers. They are responsive. They are the most competitive in our area of Northern VA. They give us lots of digital communication to let us know if holidays or inclement weather will change their service schedule. I have had 3 other garbage collection services at our home since we moved here in 1998. Evergreen is the BEST by far. I am super happy with their service. read more

Evergreen Disposal has proved to be far superior than the other waste removal companies in the Kings Park West area of Fairfax County. Since my service with Evergreen started in October of 2024 (8 months): not one missed pickup!! Their email communications and website posts have been timely and accurate. And, the best of all: same day pickup for waste, recycle items and yard waste-- not three separate days! This is absolutely more convenient for me as compared to three separate days the other guys provide on an "on again, off again basis". Also, the price is right. Evergreen is a great example of how a competitive marketplace works. read more

Very poor customer service. We had just gotten back from a trip when they were starting to service our road. I got the trash can out before they were done with the cul de sac but they just passed by our house on the way out. I know they saw me bring the trash down. When I called customer service they said to make sure the trash is out before they get to us next time. I understand we should have our can out earlier but decent humans would have stopped to get the can, they wouldn't have had to backup or anything. They looked at me as they passed by and hit the gas.
