Great golf course with nice views and many holes to give it variety and keep it fresh. My family and I come here all the time for their Friday all-you-can-eat fish fry. They have either fried or baked cod, but the fried cod obviously takes much better. The baked is ok, but can be a little spongy or chewy. It's also cooked in butter, so it's really not the healthy option, if you're going for that. Their Canadian Lake perch is incredible. It's my favorite fish they have, so order that if you're a fried fish fan (it's just not all-you-can-eat, FYI). The sides are also great--the hush puppies (corn fritters) are the best, and they also serve French fries, potato pancakes, applesauce, coleslaw, and bread. It's a great value for the price. The drink menu is good, you can basically find any normal drink you can think of here plus a few seasonal specials. They also have some good beer offerings. This is an update to a prior review. My wife had dinner here in early October and I was very disappointed with the Fried Perch. Normally, when I do eat here - I get the broiled/baked cod - now I believe $18.95. I asked the waitress how the Fried Perch was - $1 more and not all you can eat - and she said it was fabulous. I've never had a fishier tasting piece of fish in my life - it was horrible and tasted like a bad piece of catfish. I cut into two other pieces with the same result - it was horrible tasting. Funny, I was just at Costco yesterday and they had delicious fried perch nuggets at one of the food sampling stations and it was great - which is the main reason I decided to order it at Evergreen. I'm not a complainer so when the waitress first came back and asked how our food was - my wife had a baked potato and salad as she's a vegetarian and there is no other option for her there (they at least used to have a pasta dish but no longer) and I didn't respond but ordered a second bottle of beer. When she brought the beer she asked "How do you like the Perch?" and I called her a bit closer so as not to let a nearby table hear and told her it was terrible and tasting very fishy. Her response was "Oh". The really funny part was she returned five minutes later and - honestly - said "So, is everything still tasting amazing?" My wife and I looked at each other and smiled and I just asked if I could get a takeout box for my perch - which I was able to do since it wasn't one of the all you can eat selections - no taking that stuff out even if you don't order extra pieces. I left a good tip and put the fish out for our resident raccoons - they'll probably be mad at me for a few weeks...lol. I guess every place can slip up and to be honest - they can't taste every piece of fish to make sure they didn't get a bad batch but I have to say this place needs to try harder. I'm posting pictures of the fish and the unnecessarily terribly greasy potato pancakes and hush puppies that came with my meal. I found out about the Evergreen Golf Club Friday Fish Fry one day as we were passing by and seen it on their sign advertising for it. We finally got a chance to try it. I was expecting an awesome experience due to all the great reviews on Yelp. The place was crowded, but we were seated right away. My wife and I both had the fish fry. We both kind of chuckled when they brought our water cups and they were the old plastic cups from the 70's that your mother would have given you with kool aid in it. They even had the fracture lines going throughout from when they dropped a hundred times. My wife ordered the broiled Cod and I ordered the fried Cod. They immediately brought all the sides. I was amazed at how much we were given. Sides included various rolls and bread sticks, french fries, corn fritters, apple sauce, potato pancakes, and coleslaw, along with a nice portion of lemons and tartar sauce. Everything was good and warm, or cold. The fritters were like you were taking a bite of a crispy waffle. It was sweet and crunchy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. They were really good. They even gave a small pitcher with syrup if you wanted to dunk them. The potato pancakes were good but really nothing special. The coleslaw was also good. When I first tasted it, I tried to figure out why it was so sweet. It only took a few seconds to figure out they put tiny chunks of pineapple in it. As for the fish. It came out very hot, which is a plus. However, the breading on the fried fish was not crunchy like a fried breading should be. It wasn't just my first serving. It was all 3 servings, so it wasn't just a fluke. The breading really did nothing to add to the flavor. If it wasn't for the salt and pepper on the table I would have solely depended on the lemon and tartar sauce for flavor. My second helping of fish I tried the broiled this time. Absolutely no flavor on the broiled Cod. They put a little paprika for color but no other seasoning. Very bland. This is why I went back to the fried for the servings after this. They gave a little drawn butter to dip it in but I believe that was unsalted butter because there was no taste to that either. The Evergreen Golf Club fish fry was only ok. I would give the waitress 5 stars. She was great! The sides were ok but I'm just glad I didn't go way out of my way for the fish. read more

First of all, I want to say that I really like this place. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Evergreen has a cool bar. The restaurant itself is essentially a big open room, used for events also, and in days gone by it was located in the older building near to the highway which had a bit more character and charm. But times change. The Friday fish fry is excellent; in my book it's the best in the area. At the present moment, like many restaurants in the area, they seem to be struggling to get staff and some of the waiters are inexperienced, but they are friendly and doing their best as they learn. Strongly recommend Evergreen. I'm not reviewing the golf course, although I've played it and it's very nice. read more

Friday fish fry 5 people so confusing I wanted the baked fish I believe I paid $16.for one piece of fish. My husband chose a hamburger two drinks lemonade and ice tea our bill came to $30.00 what! The place was crowded and noisy the waitress was difficult to find. Had to find her. Others had one family style which included all you could eat two baked can't image what there bill was . Live locally been there Manny times for fish fry do not plan on revisiting for a long time.. I do plan on another visit to find out what there new pricing is. Not happy. read more

Came here recently for a round of golf. This club has 3 9 hole courses. They are well kept as is the clubhouse. The staff is very friendly and casual. The green fees are among the best you will find anywhere. This is an intermediate type of course so if you are a hacker like myself you can still have a great time. The bar menu was undergoing a revamp so the only items available were a hot dog, brat and burger. I did try the burger and it was a good fresh homemade one. I would definitely recommend this place to any golfer of any skill. However I would bet that if you are one of the many golf snobs out there you will find something to bitch about as you would with any place. Loosen your undies and go live! read more

I was in the mood for a fish fry and missed my opportunity on Friday, 04/24 and was advised to try back the following day. After some miscommunication via social media my order was placed and I was given choices of when to pick up my order. When my husband and I got home and looked in the order (one order of fried fish and one order of broiled fish) we realized that we were missing an order of potato pancakes and fritters and the portions of fries (for two people) was minimal at best. The cole slaw was only half full as well. The quality of the food was good, not great, but the missing food (for the price) was the reason for the low rating. I don't think I will be ordering curbside pick-up again from Evergreen anytime soon. read more

I will make this really simple...Evergreen is the best Friday fish fry for 20 miles in any direction, including Elkhorn, Delavan and Lake Geneva. Lots of goodies including broiled or fried cod, potato pancakes, apple sauce and fritters...plus the bar had $3 Spotted Cow pints. You might have to wait 15-25 minutes or more on a Friday but that is OK...get a beer, sit on the patio and enjoy! read more

Food was excellent. Coleslaw was fabulous. Fritters were sweet little balls are crunchy joy. Potato pancakes were delicious discs of onion and potato with optional syrup. The one downfall was the broiled fish... Unseasoned but cooked well. The fried cod was pretty decent topped with the insanely perfect tater sauce... Could not be more satisfied. Price point is good too at 13.95. you can swap between the broiled and fried as well. Worth a go. read more

Eight of us went for their "famous" Friday nite fish fry. We were seated after a short wait in the bar. Service was efficient and the server was friendly despite the fact she was on a dead run trying to serve a crowd. The large dining room was packed with people waiting for their fried food fix. Sides were served family style and were all you can eat. The fries were crisp and hot. Potato pancakes were soggy and gummy. Corn fritters were over cooked and hard. Cole slaw was very good -- the addition of pineapple was unexpected but good. My husband's fried chicken was dark brown and dry. The rest of us ordered fish. It all appeared to have come straight out of the freezer into the fryer. The meal was also served with dry, cold rolls and bowls of applesauce and tartar sauce. The atmosphere was fun with live music on the patio, but the quality of the food overall won't bring us back. There was a large plate of fries, potato pancakes and corn fritters. brought out and the food was barely warm. The corn fritters were nothing like I remember served here. I'm surprised at the other reviews! This place is the best fish fry in the area hands down! Fried or broiled dipped in warm butter, almost takes like crab! The coleslaw has bits of pineapple and is the best ever! The fries, fritters and applesauce are all amazing! Gorgeous clubhouse and the wait staff is extremely friendly! I heard some good things about the fish fry here and finally gave it a try. All the sides were EXTREMELY good. Man! They were really good. Unfortunately I can't say the same thing about the fish, which was the reason we came here. The fish was dry and bland. The only way I can describe it is it tasted like the plastic it was freezed in. Lives up to its name, as the course is definitely green and well-maintained. Lots of evergreen trees out on the course, but trees don't cast much in the way of shade. Par 4s are generally short. I hit 2-iron/wedge on far too many holes. Greens are nice, but the slopes are all gentle. This is a course setup for outings. They have seemingly hundreds of carts, which they run on 27 holes. There are some good holes out there, but overall character is lacking. Ugly houses overlook several holes. It's a business and feels like it. Mandatory carts up until 2 pm sucks. Nosy rangers driving by with walkie-talkies are annoying. The friday fish-fry takes place in a big open room and caters to the masses who like to strap on the feedbag and waddle out to the car. read more

Order out at work for fish fry. Had baked$18 and fried $16 for carry out. They deliver it to your car because of Covid yet they gave it to us family style. Which were at work expecting separate boxes like 99% of the rest of the world is doing. On there site it says it comes with garlic bread, hush puppies, fries, potatoe pancakes, coleslaw, and fish. Now there prices are higher then anywhere else in the area but for all that we thought ok. Instead we were never given potatoe pancakes or coleslaw. When we called to see if we could get them 810pm they said they stop serving at 8 so we wanted to talk to a manager Steve but he left for the night so he was going to call us. When talking to him he explained that it was our fault for not asking for separate boxes and there was nothing he could do for us that we missed half our order. None of us eat French fries so we got three pieces of fish for for 16 and three out of six of us had bones. Never go rude and not willing to work with customers. read more

I recently held my wedding here. Lisa FLores & the staff at Evergreen were fantastic. The setting is spacious - I had 120 guests and the garden setting for ceremony was great. They have a patio, a large pub and dining room, large restrooms and ample space for brides to get ready and lock up their items during the event. The food is catered by Fiddlesticks Cafe (across the road) and was very nice. Quite reasonably priced as well. The staff serving appetizers (which remained hot) were gracious and competent. Everything went smoothly, was clean, well laid-out and service at table was quick & efficient and unobtrusive. Kudos! They close the venue to the golfers during private parties and we had the whole place to ourselves all day until midnight! read more

Horrible experience! We were told there was a 45minute wait and ended up waiting 1-1/2. When we were final seated and ordered food it took another 1 hour. I've never seen such slow service :-( the place was obviously busy (which I get) but our server kept saying "just a few more minutes". I would have just appreciated an honest answer! Geez 45 minute wait at 5 :00 for two people. Could only seat us if we had a large group. At least five other two tops sat ungodly long in the bar. With empty tables that we could have been served at. Others left wish we would have . First and only visit . We were told by hostess no seating available for two or three tops . That we should wait in bar that it wouldn't be long . I think 45 minutes is long when clearly because of poor management all of us couples could easily have been served if they would have set up the empty tables around the bar and had a waitress stationed there. Food was not worth the wait. Fries, potatoes pancakes and horrible fritters served all slopped together on same dish. Presentation = 0 . Food is mediocre at best. Drinks are expensive to sit and wait. Will not recommend or return. Much better options in the area. read more

Fact that I get off the course and can't order food at the bar cause "they've always done it that way" was sad makes me say. Go someone else, don't bother, the fish fry isn't that good, we don't want your business. Fire your business manager and make customers happy. Course is great, and you can't ride on the coat strings forever, especially with this market and lake Geneva right there. When you come to your senses and step up your customer services, you can earn more stars. There isn't a place around here that one serve people, and after all this is Wisconsin, fish fry brings the business. When this place wants to make money, they shouldn't stick to their old ways, and adapt to the changing tastes and preferences of their customers.
