I don't know how this business stays afloat. Yes, they have some cute styles but the logistics don't make sense. They don't carry all of their styles in-store (which is understandable) and encourage you to purchase items online, but then shipping takes basically 2 full weeks. Stark & sleek- perfect for well-paid techies that have to attend an in-person business meeting & want to be taken seriously. You'll look crisp casual. I have next to zero need for this look, but stop by out of curiosity. Once I bought some suede flats to own something besides sneakers. Sadly wool is too itchy, the dresses & shirts are shapeless, simple T's & sweatshirts look like Gap but cost oodles more. There's a preponderance of thick denim which doesn't drape, too stiff. Definitely come in on a weekday if you don't want to wait for a dressing room or service. Wondering about an item I couldn't find my size in, the friendly clerk went online & searched for me. Props to him. Realizing I was in Retail Therapy mode, walked out of store & promptly lost interest in buying. I bought a sweater from them for over $200. I followed the direction on how to wash it - hand wash with cold water and gentle detergent. The sweater shrunk to 1/4 of its original size. The store is located on Valencia with some street parking around. Just be patient and you'll find something. I went after work at 6:30 PM and found parking quickly. The store itself is super bright and welcoming. Everything is very neatly organized and the staff were super friendly with helping me find what I needed. The selection is great. Whatever they didn't have, you can opt to order and ship it to your house for free. I got the backpack and a little catch all bag for my travels and it was great. I love the strap on the backpack that keeps the backpack on the rolling luggage. The material is very thick and worth the price! The backpack itself withstood a lot with me on my travels. It survived the rain and protected a lot of the contents of the backpack but It is not meant for extreme weather so I will keep that in mind and now just use it for an office bag. read more

I was in town for work, meeting a friend for dinner nearby and planned to pop into Everlane to see what was new. About 30 seconds before I walked in, the outfit I was wearing was completely drenched by a stranger's milk and cereal...the staff was so kind and helpful. I found a hole in the rear end of pair of way high sailor jeans after two washes. I expected more for $125! I noticed a tiny hole in the side belt loop shortly after buying them and made the mistake of thinking I'd mend them. They sat on the mending pile for so long that when I got around to wearing them again, it was outside the window in which Everlane was willing to do anything about it. They did offer $25 repair credit, but I'd have to be a special kind of fool to trust pants that already tore in two different places. I have been a longtime customer and I thought they were a quality brand so I'll be honest, I expected a little more for such a spectacular product fail. I guess it's a little silly to expect that just because you feel loyal to a brand that they would do anything special to help you. The kicker is that the tear must have happened when I put them on, so I went to a party like this! Am really surprised by the low scores for this location! I visited this Everlane location for the first time a few months back, and though nothing exactly stood out (neither positive nor negative) about my shopping experience, I'd say it met my expectations and I walked out with a few pieces I'd had my eye set on for awhile on their online store. As a loyal Everlane customer, I had been curious for a visit to the store in person. Walking in, I was greeted by the employees and was taken care of during my fittings in the changing room. The employees checked in with me a few times while I was trying on a few things. Maybe it was the time of day I went, but for a Saturday afternoon, the store didn't seem overly crowded at all and my wait time for a changing room was about 10 minutes. Thought it was a great added convenience that they have a paging system to alert you when it's your next turn in the queue. I do agree with a previous reviewer that the only two registers opened at any time is a bit ridiculous, especially given that the checkout line spanned about 6 people when I was waiting. Overall a good shopping experience! I think I'll prefer to shop strictly online and I would come in person again to try on items I am unsure of my size in to avoid the return hassle. read more

100% SF. As far as I know the company is an SF startup. I saw it through one of the Instagram influencers and I must say they have minimalist chic styles for both men and women. Their most popular shoe is the Day Glove. Some of their items are only sold online. However, if you order items in store, they offer free expedited shipping! I like Everlane and am surprised by all the low scores, but I get it, Yelper's experiences differ. I've ordered online and shopped in this store on Valencia and virtually all my experiences have been mostly positive ones. When returning items to the store purchased online and decided to shop a little first. As soon as I picked up a few items and started walking through the store, a sales associate offered to start a room and to hold my items, which I appreciate. Returning items has been easy, every time. The store does have limited merchandise compared to online offerings, but as a result the feel of the store is sleek, modern, and well organized. Their sizing runs from 2-16, so they address a range of body types. I like their transparency on the supply chain, reuse of down and up cycling of other materials, and appreciate some of their simple wardrobe staples. Everlane is an SF-based company, and they have a loyal fan base, despite the two star reviews. For me, one of the challenges of shopping here include a lack of parking nearby, but SF parking is always a saga. But truthfully, sometimes I just don't want to deal with parking in the Mission, and decide against a visit. Secondly, they have no telephone customer service, which I think is a mistake. Today I couldn't call the store to see if they are open on a public holiday. To me, that is a basic. Lastly, lines at the cash wrap are a ongoing theme. Clearly two registers are not enough, so why not add more? Otherwise, I really enjoy the retail experience at Everlane and have had good experiences with their helpful, friendly sales staff, and appreciate their 60 day return policy. read more

Came here on a saturday afternoon...... my mistake I guess....... Store was soooo crowded. Their posh seating area was full of bored looking dudes, one was even asleep. Too many people were rummaging through the clothes so many of them were misplaced and there were makeup stains on a lot of them. The wait for the fitting room was half an hour and the automatic ticketing system was broken. I tried on some jeans and was disappointed by the quality, felt like something I could get from Old Navy. Their shoe display was cool looking but I have to talk to an associate to try anything on which kind of sucks since like 10 other people were waiting. I wanted to try things on so that I could buy them online later, but I'm never coming back unless it's at an obscure hour. I booked a stylist appointment online for a mid-week morning and it was an extremely great experience. I also came her on Black Friday when it was super busy, and the employees were awesome. They find you styles and give you their honest opinion on what looks good for your body. There is no pressure to buy and they are overall super friendly and helpful. I walked into Everlane and was really interested in their athletic wear. I was in the middle of trying on a jacket and was approached by a white male employee with longish hair. He told me in a very passive aggressive tone to set the jacket on the counter when I was done trying it on. There were other folks who were trying items on yet I was the only one being approached. That statement assumed I wouldn't be purchasing the item. Intent vs impact. I read their mission by their register and sounds great but it seems extremely performative if they aren't regularly having employees attend anti racist trainings. I felt extremely uncomfortable and humiliated. After this I talked to the manager but she tried to defend his action by saying it was policy. Until I told her that as a darker person of color I felt targeted and made feel uncomfortable. Having read similar reviews from others speaking about their experience, mostly POC, I'll be reaching out to corporate. read more

Amazing store, amazing concept, amazing customer service. I originally passed by this store on my way to a cafe, and it caught my eye but I didn't bother stopping by because it looked wayyyy too expensive for me (white interior + clean, spacious store = $$$$$ in my mind). I reluctantly went back after two of my friends recommended it to me, however, and wow. That was one of the best decisions I've made in my life (okay, this is just a bit of an over-exaggeration haha). Everything on the racks seemed to pull me in and call my name - simple, chic clothing with all shades of neutral colors - black, white, brown, grey, and very subtle pinks and yellows. The wait time for a fitting room was about 20 minutes, but they have a really cool system where you enter your name and phone number, and they text you when your room is ready (along with calling out your name). They hold all of your items for you so you can continue to shop. Customer service was amazing.. when you actually are able to get the attention of the busy workers haha I tried on a size 2 since that's my usual size, but found it was pretty loose. I asked for a 0 and the worker came back with a 00, saying she thought it would fit better, and how right she was! It fit like a gem. The only complaint I would have is that it took three people to get me the right style and size pants. The first girl who brought me 00 brought me the wrong style. Second girl brought me the right style but wrong size. I finally had to step outside and wave down a worker to check the back for me, which she graciously did. The shoe department was also extremely helpful, letting this super indecisive shopper try on a total of 6 different pairs of the same style (in different colors and sizes) until I finally settled on my favorite. Three items came out to a little over $200, and while my heart hurt quite a bit when I saw that number, I think it was one of the best purchases I've made thus far. A sustainable, transparent company with workers that genuinely want their customers to walk away with a beautiful wardrobe is hard to come across these days, so I will definitely be back to this shop again when I'm in SF! read more

I appreciate Everlane's transparency and ethical sourcing and manufacturing practices. Although their style is a bit hipster for me (my style is a bit more low-maintenance-athleisure-mom-of-2), I like the clean lines, muted color aesthetic and reminiscent 1990's Gap (as my husband puts it) flavor. That said, the website reflects way more of this style than the storefront. I was disappointed to see the store somewhat disheveled, with many sizes unavailable, and limited types of items (eg shoes were mostly day glove flats and a few heels and sandals, only one pair of boots; very few bags on display). The sizing online already doesn't fit me well- I need petite sizing in both shirts and pants- and there was literally nothing that fit my broad shouldered 5-6 athletic build husband. Ie he is not the tall slim narrow-boned prototype that Everlane men's seems to fit. So... I think I'll stick to Everlane online. read more

I usually love this place! I even got a my favorite pair of jeans from there about a year ago, but they ripped at the thigh (between legs). I went into the store to see if there was an in house solution and an employee kindly tell me that I'm on my own. That's not fair. Considering Everlane advertises their jeans on thicker and bigger women, if jeans rip between the legs as is common for curvier women, then the solution or guarantee/warranty should encompass that. Came here for the first time on a busy Saturday afternoon and as soon as I walked in, I could tell it was very crowded. The line to the fitting room was about a 45 minute wait but they had a system -- you can give your clothes to the sales associate and type in your phone information to be into a queue which leaves you with the freedom to go outside and explore Mission/Valencia St Area. You will then get a notification that you gives a couple minutes to head back into the store. Very simple, and easy but obviously its not the kind of in and out experience that some people would want. So I would probably recommend coming in when its less crowded. Seeing that this is the only brick and mortar Everlane store it makes sense why there would be a ton of people. My main reasoning for coming here was because I had ordered some items online and I wanted to find out whether I chose the right size (and also to get an idea of what the fit was like for denim for future purchases). It was also my first time actually seeing, feeling and trying on their pieces and was overall very impressed with the quality of the materials they use. A definite, huge shoutout to the sales associate that helped me (Pam) as she was absolutely patient and super nice (especially since I asked for different sizes) and I am very grateful for her help! I got invited to shop the grand opening of Everlane's new San Francisco brick-and-mortar location on March 2, a day before it opened to the public. Aesthetically, the location is very pleasing and very Everlane: white, airy, light, and clean, with very little furnishings. While it's nice to look at, it's not exactly the most satisfying shopping experience. The limited in-store selection reminded me of Brandy Melville, where there seems to be a lot of product but there's actually a lot of the same product in multiple locations around the store. The same jacket in multiple colors, the same tee in different patterns and shades, the same sweater in different colors piled up in a couple different places. This is disappointing given that Everlane is online-only and has a lot more product that would be great to see, feel, and try on in person before buying. Pricing is a bit all over the place - why is a blouse more expensive than outerwear? Why is a striped tee that feels cheaper than a Forever 21 garment nearly $20? And to piggyback off of that, quality is also inconsistent. Some garments feel top notch and well worth the money while others are no higher quality than something you could get for a fraction of the price elsewhere. Not to mention that a lot of the cuts and styles are boxy, huge, and horribly unflattering and there's neither petite nor tall sizing in bottoms. I would've loved to have tried on their jeans, but the wait for a fitting room was so long that staff had to start distributing those buzzers that you get at some restaurants to let you know your food is ready for pick up at the counter. So I didn't bother braving the wait. Some of the salespeople were extremely friendly and helpful while others were downright snooty and giving out the sideye freely. One saleswoman was complaining to another about the number of breaks they were allotted, and then proceeded to offer the woman using the mirror next to me a token for a free coffee at the Lady Falcon coffee truck parked outside. She never bothered to ask me if I'd like a token, too. The opening of this physical store means that in-store returns are much easier, especially since it has a dedicated returns counter. Problem is, I don't foresee myself coming back here too often. The in-store selection of clothing was, frankly, boring and the quality of Everlane's products is inconsistent and confusing. Some items are well made and others are mediocre at best, but I left with the same impression I've had of them for a long time: overpriced basics from a company with an inflated ego. Poor response! I've returned 3 items totalling $198/- in the beginning of May 2020 using their return authorizations in 2 shipments. Haven't seen the credit till today (July 21st, 2020). I got an acknowledgement for the return of 1 item stating the account will be credited, but may take a while because of Covid-19. No acknowledgement for the return of 2 items. Submitted 4 to 5 requests asking status (attached the proof of return receipts), no response. Emailing them didn't work either because emails were bouncing. No phone number to contact. This is very frustrating and don't quite know how these guys are staying in business. read more

I saw that this store was opening this past weekend through IG and made it a point to visit them on their GO weekend. I've been following them but never purchased as they were online only and call me old...fashioned... but I want to try shoes on and not have to return them via mail if they didn't work so super thrilled to see a brick and mortar now. I did not get an invite to attend prior to the public and I had a very different experience than the previous reviewer. I waited about 30 minutes to get in early Sunday, the line definitely got larger as the morning progressed but everyone we encountered was great. They we're handing out coffee tokens for Lady Falcon (some of the coolest coffee kids and best beans in town) to everyone in line, no preferential treatment and from the door to the floor, apparel to FTW ultimately to check out, super friendly staff. Pricing and fit is funky everywhere and THAT is why it's so great to touch the product, try it on and determine if what you see and feel is what you want to pay. I walked out with a hoodie, a tee and a kick ass pair of loafers that I had my eye on!!! Oh yeah, and in a world of me, me, me, it's clearly about US. They're giving back to the community that they grew up in. The Mission needs it and they're doing something about it. Nicely done Everlane and looking forward to my next visit. read more

I've been a huge fan of the brand for a while and was really excited to visit the new SF store over the weekend. But when I got there I couldn't believe how hot it was! Was the air conditioning broken or something? It must have been at least 80 degrees inside, which is crazy because it was only in the mid 60s the day I visited! They set up a few small fans that only made it worse because all they did was blow even more hot air at me while I was trying to shop. Most of the sales associates were nice but they honestly looked really uncomfortable in the heat. I felt bad for them. I'm shocked that people were even trying on clothes, I ended up leavening because it was just so hot and stuffy. Since my review a year ago, the same friend who felt discriminated against asked me to go with her to the store to see if anything's changed. We came mid-week around lunch time. The store had only a handful of shoppers and the employees were standing around chatting among themselves. No "Let us know if you have any questions." or anything. A simple "hello" would have sufficed. They *all* looked equally miserable to be working there and you seriously wonder if that's a requirement for their hiring department. I held a jumpsuit and approached the fitting room area and asked to try it on. A female employee with green in her hair gave me a look of disdain, as if I was asking her to come into the fitting room with me to help me try it on. How about you just quickly put me in a room and then you can go back to talking about last Friday night's party (I wish I were kidding but this is, in fact, what they were talking about) with your coworker? Just horrible customer service here, there's no other way around it. If you don't look artsy enough (i.e. look like you work at a coffee shop, like the smell of used books, dabble in film photography, have random, tiny tattoos all over your arms), prepare to be ignored. If you look like my friend and me (30 years old with a career), be prepared to be treated rudely or ignored. The African American guy who rang us up was kind and was the one bright side of this whole experience. So basically, my friend wasn't followed around the store this time because of her skin color, but that's about the only improvement.
