I emailed and acquired about a specific beta to see if it was available and how much it was. The response to my email was to call the store. No price no availability just call. So I proceeded to stop in the next day to check for myself, I was disappointed because it wasn't there. I got an employee and asked her to take a picture of the fish I was looking for because the manager wouldn't be there till 3:30 and I was told they could order it. She was very hesitant and said she wouldn't be there at 3:30. So I asked her to take the picture anyway and pass it along to whoever's taking over her shift. So then I ask her what time are you getting out and she tells me 5:30. So then I call it 3:30 and get a manager, who told me she let the other employee go early because it's so slow wonder why. I then ask the manager to look on the website so I could explain the fish that I was looking for, she says what website and I said the one that you have online on Google. 2 seconds later maybe five she says I have no idea where the picture is. These employees here are very unprofessional and I would not want them looking after my pets. They didn't seem to be very pet friendly or should I say person friendly. Very unsatisfied disappointed. I've never been treated like that in the pet store, usually pet people are exceptionally nice and helpful. So don't expect much if you're going to shop here and it's very dirty in there too. We started going to this pet store after we adopted two cats here from a cat rescue group. This store is a little further than some other pet stores, but they carry a cat food brand that some of the big box stores do not. The store carries pet supplies, a couple live fish, and there are rescue groups that have cats for adoption. I usually go here for cat food, but we also get cat toys, guinea pig food, hamster food, and other supplies. The store is clean and well organized. I recommend signing up for their reward card - I have gotten some great coupons which are good towards our expensive cat food (the brand is expensive, not the store). read more

This is a great little pet store - a locally/family owned store with decent pricing in comparison to the "big" pet stores in the area. Went here with the intention of getting crickets for our office-pet [a lizard named Cage Nut] and a treat or two for our cat [black rescue named Benson]. Was sad to see there wasn't much cat food in the place, but LOTS of different kind of specialty treats and "medicinal" options for our little guy. [we went with some dental/breath freshening ones.] I must say, I was really impressed with all of the different options for food and treats for birds and reptiles, though. Lots and lots of dried fruits and a variety of bugs, too. One major highlight, as odd as this seems, is the crickets available. They offer three sizes and take a lot of care to separate the sizes of crickets appropriately, unlike other, bigger stores in the area. The small crickets were all small, which is great our tiny little guy. [sometimes when we get them from other locations, our bag of "small" crickets contains a few large ones that end up getting released in the wild, as they are too big for our tiny little Cage Nut.] Also - ask for a frequent buyer card. Buy 10 dozen crickets, get one dozen free! Crickets are a dozen for a dollar, any size. Also picked up a locally made dog biscuit for my best friend's dog. Loved all the choices - sizes, design, color, etc - in the "bakery case." The animals available for purchase were also entertaining to visit. [though, soap box moment: RESCUE over breeding!] lots of different reptiles and amphibians in the back room for those of you who are interested in the creepy crawlies. read more

Normally I'm down with the independently-owned family stores fighting the good fight against the giant chains, but I make an exception for pet stores that sell non-shelter dogs and cats. They are part of the problem, and in a rare exception to American rule, the big chain stores which sponsor shelter adoptions are part of the solution. read more

The owner buys fish that are dirty and sick and no amount of however long returns will fix this issue. This is an issue EVERYONE is having with this unfit company. Family business can either be great or a mess and this is a mess. The store smells like weed which is legal yes but very unprofessional and can make animals sick. They've already been banned from selling cats and puppies for a reason. I hope all reptiles, rodents and fish are next. This place deserves to have competition with bensons and I hope they sell her out. Don't buy food from this place either they sell expired bags make sure you check the date before purchasing. The only respect they have is from illegal at home breeders who buy their bully max. Which they can't explain left from right how to use properly. The rat room is full of sick rats who eat eachothers tails and eyes and smells so bad of feces it makes you sick to your stomach. The parrots are housed together in a cage fit for one. They yell at and embarrass their employees. Hi, I just went in there the other day. I have been thinking of really wanting to get maybe a Shih Tzu. I thought there was an odd smell to them, but ok. I asked if I could see one of them. I was told they are not to be handled/only if you are in the market to buy one. How do they know I am in the market or not? Because I don't dress and act like a damn yuppie (like other customers who had no problem seeing any puppy they wanted. this place was immaculate. I want it to get my very first sugar glider, and I wish I knew the woman's name that helped me and explained everything to me. My aunt had brought me down there cause that's where she had gotten her sugar glider, and I cannot say enough about how the customer service was. Besides, it was amazing. They explained everything that I needed to know told me if I had any questions to call them, they were polite. They were friendly and I will definitely be going back down there to get another sugar glider. Don't ever buy animals from any of the 3 everything pets stores. They take in sick animals from random people off the street and resell them the same day. Don't bother with there so called "layaway" program you won't get the animal you fell in love with because it will die or be sold to the first highest bidder willing to pay cash up front . The owner only cares about money and will sell you over priced items just to help her sales with no interest in your pocket or your animals. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I had 2 reward certificates to spend. You get these certificates by spending ridiculous amounts of money in their stores. The amount of restrictions to use these reward certificates were absolutely insane! So I spend thousands of dollars, and get $25 back in rewards, but your going to tell me how to use them, and what I can/cannot spend them on? Also, the store smells like $hit. This is one of the saddest stores in the mall to shop in. The Colonie Center mall had very expensive puppies in plastic cages, claiming to be purebred, papered dogs (Puppy mill anyone???), not to mention the inappropriate housing for the reptiles there, a pretty much nonexistent cat section, goldfish suffocating in a very small tank in the back, and a store that sells betta fish but no actual fish tanks, heaters, or filters! The staff there was very unfriendly and acted as if they had somewhere better to be the whole time, not to mention they gave me wrong information. You are much better off visiting the Petco across the street from the mall, at least they have variety, happy staff, and support animal rescues. This whole store reeks of animal cruelty. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I went there to get a pet fish, that could live in a bowl. I decided to get two guppies, a bowl, and some food. I went up to pay for them and the cashier told me that I would need a heater, because my fishes are tropical and would die otherwise. I got the heater, payed and left. THE NEXT DAY, the heater broke, thank god it didn't kill my guppies, soon after that one fish died. THEY FAILED TO MENTION TO ME THAT THESE FISHES CANNOT LIVE IN A BOWL. YET THEY REMEMBERED THAT I NEEDED TO PURCHASE A HEATER. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I went to petsmart the next day where I actually received useful tips on what kind of fish would survive in a bowl, etc. PLUS they have a wonderful return policy there, UNLIKE Everything pets, more like EVERYTHING NOT. They're a really great store. They give me wrong information about my bunny supplies saying that certain things aren't bad for him, after I buy it and search it up or search it in the store, I find out it is bad for him. They just need to get the information on bunnies correct and then I will rate it 4.5-5 stars. Also, some of the employees can get an attitude quickly and don't say hi bye or thank you. I wish I could give 0 stars! This is the worst place to EVER buy a puppy! I got a puppy here (the Colonie Center location) Sunday morning 9/17, and by Monday morning 9/18 he was lethargic and not acting himself. We brought him to the vet because he couldn't even wake up. At the vet, he was given a few doses of glucose because he was hypoglycemic, and then he was at 300, still acting lethargic, which is not normal in a new puppy. They further examined him to find out there is something wrong with his liver. The pet store was very rude in taking him back, making it seem like our fault. The "owner" Bridget was very disrespectful and kept trying to make us feel bad for wanting to return the puppy.As if we didn't feel bad enough! The dog was having seizures and was NOT healthy by any means!!!! Again, DO NOT BUY A DOG HERE, THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS! I will be going to all of the news stations around the capital region because EVERYONE deserves to know they are selling unhealthy puppies! This was my first puppy and we are heartbroken, and the owner did not even care about the dog when we brought it back! She threw it in a cage and didn't look back while the dog was whimpering!
