Service has been great. Place is kept clean and maintained. The food is so good. This is my to go when I am craving a good homemade burger!

We decided to eat here after a visit to the NC Zoo. It is about 10 minutes down the road and well worth it. They have delicious and reasonably priced hamburgers and hotdogs. I enjoyed the Ronald which is similar to a Big Mac. I had the chips but will get the fries next time. My son loved his hotdog and the banana pudding. I had the apple pie and.thought it was good. We also tried the fried okra and it was very good.

For what it is, they are doing it well here. There's lots of variety on the menu. The service was really friendly and the food was great. There's nothing fancy about it but that's sort of the draw to this place. A great place to eat after a full day of walking at the Zoo.

Atmosphere is a charming small town, mom and pop place. Definitely friendly staff and good service. The sweet tea is great I recommend the half and half, the perfect sweetness. Burgers are surprisingly thick and juicy for being cook all the way through. The fries are fresh cut and really good. A good local spot for lunch after a trip to the Zoo, only about 10 minutes away. Humble and good food.

Everything under the bun came recommended to me by some locals as a great place to get a burger. Located in an older shopping center and definitely don't look like much from the outside. Plenty of parking. Inside is old school restaurant all the way. Booth and table seating. They specialize in burgers and hot dogs here with their own ideas. Really a large menu. They also have some other sandwiches and salads. Service was fast and friendly. My drink glass never went dry. The place was clean. I had a hard time trying to decide which burger to get with so many choices and they all sounded great. Ultimately I had the Cobb burger. It was indeed delicious. The burger itself had a nice taste. It was cooked properly and I didn't have to tell them how to do it! The bun was toasted and tasted fresh. Nice bacon, lettuce, and a boiled egg! House made chips were cooked up nice and crisp. I can't wait to go back and try more of their creations. I would definitely recommend this place for a great burger and good service.

I hear their milkshakes are awesome! I didn't get one... watching my figure. I did have a burger. Welp! It was aight. However for a place that I assume is all about the burgers, they should work on this. First they should season their meat with salt and pepper. Second they should ask people how they like their meat cooked (medium), and third, they shouldn't put so much mustard on the burger. Myself and 3 other colleagues shared the same sentiment about the mustard. The fries were okay. The lady only came back to check on us when I was putting the last bit of my burger in my mouth. Luckily everything was okay.... would have liked some ranch for my fries. Perhaps next time I'll stop in for a milkshake: Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry

It had crunch instead of being too wet or too mushy. The smashed potatoes were very good! Potatoes served like that aren't usually my thing but they were delicious and well seasoned. I ordered the shrimp and corn while my husband got the crab cakes. Some places are mostly filling with hints of crab, Full Moon was the opposite--maximum amount of crab with the right amount of "cake". The shrimp was great and perfectly steamed. The corn came out piping hot! The service was fantastic. The seating is mostly bar tops which is cool and allows for the service to be seamless. Honestly it felt like a beach vacation on a Tuesday. Our next visit will be on a Tuesday so I can try the all you can eat crab legs.

My second visit was just as delightful. Had the Shrimp Boil platter with corn, sausage and garlic toast. It was super yummy! Highly recommend!

If I could give this place ten stars, I would. You will have a wait when you get there, and you…read morewill wait no matter how long it takes. You cannot find a better place for a meal, or more kind folks running the place from top to bottom. And if your plate is too big to finish, feel free to take it home, because you'll want to save room for dessert. Magnolia 23 is a staple in our household. So long as we've lived within a 30 minute drive, it has been a great place for a Sunday lunch, or any other meal within the hours they are open. They treat you like family from the very start with the way that they take names for the line. It's natural to start a conversation with the people around you, because everyone has the same end game - a great meal. Once you're seated, it's never long before a waitress comes and takes your drink order. The menu for the day is posted on Facebook and written on the board on the wall, along with the sides and dessert options. There's no menus because it's a meat and two sides, plus a bread of either roll or cornbread. The seating is tables and chairs, although some areas have couches for seating, which is a nice change of pace. Today I got stewed beef with sides of mac and cheese, yams, and bread choice was cornbread. My other half got the country style steak, with sides of cabbage and rice with gravy, and bread of cornbread. The littles shared a fried chicken plate with side of mashed potatoes with gravy. They divided and conquered their food so fast I forgot to snag a picture of it. The stewed beef was perfection. So tender, and the juices went well with the cornbread. The yams were expertly spiced, and prepared with so much love. The mac and cheese was delicious, so I offered some to my youngest who promptly stole the rest of it. I did sample the country style steak, and it was so delicious that none was spared. I cannot wait to eat my leftover stewed beef later this week, as I knew I wanted to save room for dessert. We ordered two fried apple pies, and a slice of Hershey bar cake. Be careful with the fried pies - the filling turns into molten lava when heated, so despite the fact that you'll want to take the largest first bite, please be patient and spare your taste buds from their imminent demise by letting it cool a minute. The spices on the apple filling on the fried pies were perfect, and I savored every bite that I stole from my husband. My dessert was the Hershey bar cake, which I split with one of my littles. It didn't have a thick layer of icing, which was great. The cake had a nice crumb, and was sweet without being overly sweet. If you haven't been here yet, make sure to take note of their hours and then take a trip to Asheboro. Once you've finished your meal, feel free to take a stroll around downtown and know that you've just had the best meal around. Magnolia 23 is worth the price and worth the wait, because you will be blessed by the whole experience.

I can say with confidence this restaurant deserves every accolade given here! We found parking easily behind the building and were given a warm and friendly welcome while walking up the stairs to the cozy porch before we even stepped inside. We arrived early since we knew this place was popular so luckily we had no wait on a Friday evening! We decided to try the catfish, fried chicken, and chicken & dumplings as our meats and a various assortment of the sides including collards, slaw, Lima beans, green beans, potatoes, corn bread and rolls. Absolutely every bite was inhaled, sadly I even missed a chance to take any pictures and my kids (7&9) couldn't stop remarking about how delicious everything was! The chicken & dumplings sold out right after we ordered so we felt lucky to try it too. The service was stellar and quick. HThe owner greeted many of the guests by name and took the time to chat with us and discovered our Wilmington connection- it was so refreshing to see this type of family run farm to table establishment and exchange local foodie recommendations. Next time we will definitely be leaving room for dessert!

I had already chosen my "carved turkey Reuben sandwich", yum, when I first went at around 12:30-the line was out the door, so went to my appointment, hoping I could get back by the 230 close time. Returned at about 215 yay, and happily walked right up to the counter to order my lunch, when I was told they were out of carved turkey (the way the server explained it sounded like an ingredient in the Reuben was out, not the actual turkey. I asked if the "simple turkey sandwich" had carved turkey, and I was told no, it was deli meat-deli meat is so processed and unhealthy. I was super disappointed. So I opted for a Smashburger after asking how they liked it and she said it was "delicious". Well, it's not a Smashburger. It's a double burger on a nothing special bun. I was going to take the bun off and eat it with a knife and fork, and I was looking for those yummy crispy edges on a authentic Smashburger. They didn't exist. This was a double cheeseburger with very thick patties. I think they were grass fed so kudos to them for that,, but it was incredibly dry sadly, and when I saw that the bun had been toasted with butter, I put it back on and had a couple more bites, but was super disappointed-and trust me nobody loves a great cheeseburger more than I but now I love smash burgers as well!. I also ordered the Orzo cucumber and feta salad (as well as the french fries) on the side and while it was OK, it was nothing special. French fries were just meh. After all the stellar reviews I had I was very surprised that they would make a double cheeseburger and call it a Smash-burger-I wish these restaurants would stop doing that, it's misleading, other restaurants do this too. And for the money I spent, I should've just gone to Shake shack! I DO think it's worth a second chance, and I will say everybody there was very kind on the Service level and it's an adorable, really beautiful spot and vibe ! I strolled around and looked at the merchandise afterwards. So hopefully I'll be back but just super disappointed I didn't have a nice meal and left hungry.

Why didn't she just admit that she was making a change in their long-standing policy of allowing dogs there? Just the week before, I had come there with my dog and found the green chairs occupied. It's hardly ever both in my experience. Service met the expectation. She was attentive and kept my drink full. I ordered Chicken Pie or Chicken Casserole (I'm honestly not sure what the difference is. It's a LOCALS favorite, not found in surrounding cities. I think some places call it pie and others call it casserole and I've even seen both items on the same menu). It may have been either the last serving left, scraped off the edges of the pan or it was made on a previous date and re-heated. The same with the mashed potatoes. There were hard crunchy bits of potatoes like it had been sitting out for a day or so and I got the scrapings from the side of the pan. They were not fresh. The gravy wasn't bad. The green beans were straight out of a can and seasoned with bacon or some kind of pork. They served both biscuits and cornbread. I took a bite out of the biscuit and didn't eat the cornbread. From the outside, I thought this was going to be different than what I saw on the inside. They serve breakfast here too and from the reviews and pictures, looks like breakfast may be what keeps this place open. Or the desserts. They do have a huge selection of desserts at the front entrance and they looked good. I don't think I'll be back. Not because of the service but because of quality and cleanliness.

She didn't like the hush puppies said they were too hard. They were fried a little harder than she was use to. The coleslaw had great flavor but looked like it was sent thru a blender and gave it a weird texture. My husband also got the fish and chips had the same complaint about the coleslaw didn't like the texture. I got a breakfast sausage plate. It looked like it was made in house I didn't ask but it was delicious. Eggs were cooked perfectly nice and fluffy with cheese and the grits cooked well needed a dash of salt but that is my preference. Everything was good not great.
