Philly has their big cheesesteak pseudo rivalry between Pat's and Geno's which is silly because they both suck. Here in Norristown they have the big Zep rivalry between Eve's and Lou's which is silly because they're both awesome. I know it's blasphemous but I enjoy both spots equally for their zeps. Sometimes I'm the mood for the old timey lunch counter feel of Lou's (slightly diluted since they were forced to ban smoking) and sometimes I don't feel like dealing with the main street headache.. Either way.. nice thick onions, tomatoes, salami, some oil and spices..and that huge Conshy roll.. perfection. Thanks for continuing to exist. one point docked for cash only / atm read more

Been going to eves since they were at the old location over 10 years ago. No longer in the area but still make it there a few times a year. Cheesesteak zep is the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Over 10 years and the only other thing I eat is the tuna hoagies, which I like to pack for bike and ski trips. read more

Eve's is the bomb. I refuse to give it 5 stars because I think that most of the Philly places (Delesandro's, Jim's, Ishkabibbles, etc.) are at least a little bit better, and even Pudge's in blue bell PA might be the best in the burbs, BUT STILL. Eves is pretty freaking awesome. The rolls are from Conshohocken bakery I believe and they are fantastic! I strongly recommend getting a zep, but the cheesesteaks are pretty awesome too. read more

It's great, not going to comment on Eve's vs Lou's because truthfully I love both! Had a cheesesteak zep from eves and it was superb. Meat was seasoned well and the sandwich was juicy. read more

Best cheesesteak in PA in my book. The Zeps are always great. We usually buy one of each and share 1/2 and we enjoy both in one sitting. He staff is always nice and the place is always clean. I placed a considerable order for the office. As I was biting into the mushroom cheesesteak, I noticed a strong American Cheese taste. I was specific about Provolone cheese when I ordered. I immediately called Eve's. I explained my situation and asked for a replacement. One of the cooks admitted to making the mistake - starting with American cheese, scraping it off, then replacing with Provolone cheese. I proceeded to ask why a new cheesesteak was not cooked. The rep informed me that I should have been notified when my fellow coworker picked up the delivery. I was upset that I was told to bring back the sandwich (which they admitted to the fault and are clearly at fault) in order to get a replacement. Since they do not deliver, I asked for a credit towards another cheesesteak. The rep informed me that she could not do this due to past experiences. She informed me that the best bet was to wrap up the sandwich and store in the fridge. ( What if mold grew and a smell emitted in the communal fridge?!?!?! Of course it will! )When it was time to place an order, I was to mention that I needed a replacement. This is unacceptable!!!! I should have received better customer service. This will affect my fellow employees' "taste buds" in placing another order with Eve's. read more

Terrible customer service! I wish I could give them 0 stars. They messed up the order. They knew that they messed up the order when we called them back, but refused to make amends. We asked for a new sandwich, or a refund for the sandwich, or a store credit. They refused all the options. They wanted us to go back to the restaurant and swap the sandwich when it was clearly their mistake. Would not recommend this place to anyone read more

I love Eve's. I have been eating there since they were located on Main Street when I was a little girl. I have never in my life had a bad sandwich from there. I do have to admit that since Eve passed away the service has gone down hill. The help is not very friendly. Eve would have never tolerated that! But overall the food is good. As for the greasy cheese steak, the are well known for Zeps, not cheese steaks...what else can I say. read more

I have ordered from Eves many times, and they mix my order up occasionally and I'll usually just take what the give me no big deal, this time however I called back and told them the issue the woman pretty much told me that I was wrong when I knew I wasn't. whatever she agreed to make the correct sandwiches, not five minutes later she called me back to re-insist that I made the mistake and that I'd either have to bring the wrong sandwiches back that she already told me to throw away, or pay for the correct ones, she was actually arguing with me (the customer) that I was wrong, unbelievable!! I'm pretty sure she was either the owner or manager because who else would have the balls to do that. They lost my business along with every other employee at this company. The sandwiches here are always good. The older ladies who make them are so nice. The nasty young girl who answers the phone and slams it down telling you to hold is horrible. Whenever you order she tells you 20 mins. Ok no problem , but the last time I ordered and it will be the LAST time I got there 10 min into my 20 min wait time. No problem I was fine with waiting for my sandwich to be made. The middles aged blonde who I would suspect to be the nasty 20 something's mom says with an attitude, "your pretty early we said 20 min!" Ok maybe I can just pay and wait it's not a big deal I said. Then the two of them just started mumbling stuff under their breath. I can't say for sure they were talking about me but when you get that vibe often your right. They really need an overhaul on the front if house staff. The sandwiches are very good though. I just refuse to pay someone who is constantly rude. read more

Grew up down the street from this place - been going there almost 30 years. Honestly, it doesn't get any better than Eve's for zeps - period. They get somewhat busy, nobody has ever been rude to me there. Lou's is really good as well, but for zeps - Eve's has the edge. If you are in the area, you have to go here and get a zep. Everything is super fresh and cut fresh there. Onions and tomatos are the best you will ever find on any sandwich anywhere. read more

I remember when Eve's was on Main St. and they used a harder salami. They were the best then and they are the best now. The tomatos and onions are never pre-sliced and the Conshohocken rolls are the best I've ever had. For steaks and cheesesteaks I tell everyone to try Phil's in Ambler. read more

I live about 20 miles away so when I come to Eves I usually get between $100 & $200 worth of sandwich's. If you order hot peppers on your sandwich's they are FREE. If you ask for 2 small side orders of hot peppers for those who like to put their own peppers on THEY CHARGE YOU $.70 CENTS EXTRA ? BUT IF YOU GET THEM ON THE SANDWICH THEY ARE FREE. SO TODAY EVEN THOUGHT MY ORDER WAS OVER $120.00 TOTAL, THEY LOST THE SALE OF TWO MORE LARGE ZEPS FOR A TOTAL OF $22.00 BECAUSE THEY WANTED .35 CENTS A CUP FOR PEPPERS ? Does this make sense to you as a business you would rather lose $22.00 in sandwich's and charge .70 cents for peppers you would put on for FREE ?????????? I used to spend between $1,800 to $2,200 a year at Eves but in 2017 it will be many trips less over peppers you should get for free! I ask the cashier who run the business and she told me the kids were. The oldest daughter who took care of my orders for years knew what I spend at their business and always gave a bag of chips or a 2 liter bottle of soda with orders between $100 & $200 dollars and now they can't afford two .35 cents cups of peppers.
