There cafe menu is varied and the prices are easy. The waitress was friendly and efficient. We ordered bugers and topped our meal off with homemade pie. The staff was very nice. I tried newed things that I haven't had before. I got the tamales at the recommendation of the girl. I thought they were good. It came with rice and beans. I also got a sopapilla, which is a fried pastry. You can get them stuffed for a meal, which was the other thing I was considering. Since she recommended the tamales though I got the regular one which is sweet kind of like a dessert and came with honey. It was very good. Prices were great. After wandering around the enchanting plaza from the Spanish colonial period, with its very informative displays of local political history (on the north side) and local military history and tributes to fallen heroes (on the south side) we popped our heads into Baca House Brewery but were told they weren't serving alcohol that day, so we went to Box Canyon Brewing and asked if they were dog friendly. Their answer was "if your dog is friendly, we are dog friendly." So we say down and ordered a pint, and several customers came over to pet our then-6 month old husky mix pup. We each ordered a sandwich (I don't remember the specifics) and got a plain unseasoned hot dog without a roll for the doggo. The staff was very pleasant, and the customers were friendly and chatty. They had some very funny signs on the walls that made my wife and me laugh. We will happily return when staying overnight or passing through Socorro again.

We happened upon them at the annual Bosque del Apache Crane Festival after a long cold morning is sub 20°F (±-6°C) watching the cranes do their morning thing. We ordered two dirty chais w/ oat milk, and they were tasty and priced well @$7/ea. Service was fast and friendly, and I appreciate that he doesn't charge an oat milk tax.
