All three of the items on that section of the menu are served with a salad, and are under the same name as some of the other sandwiches that they offer. My mom had ordered the southwest turkey, off the low carb menu, thinking that it would just come with a side salad, so she also ordered some of the soup of the day. Apparently she pointed to the low carb section on the menu while ordering, but didn't say it out loud. Idk, she probably messed up by not saying it. Anyways, when the waitress brought out the southwest turkey Sandwich, and not the low carb meal, mom realized that she'd accidentally ordered the wrong thing. Instead of saying "I didn't realize that you meant the low carb, I'm sorry," our waitress said "well that's not what you told me" and walked away to get our ticket. Then, she proceeded to say that it's not her job to ask if people wanted the low carb option or not, and that my mom should have told her in the first place. Only after realizing that she got a $2 tip, she finally said sorry and then began starting an ARGUMENT with my mother, who is a former waitress herself. In the end after my mom said have a great day, the waitress made a sarcastic comment about how great her day was going and we left. The food was good, aside from the overcooked burger that my dad had. But our waitress was incredibly rude, which is surprising for a little town like Datil. We probably won't be back after that experience. Maybe she was not having a great day, but that's no way to treat returning customers.

The staff was very nice. I tried newed things that I haven't had before. I got the tamales at the recommendation of the girl. I thought they were good. It came with rice and beans. I also got a sopapilla, which is a fried pastry. You can get them stuffed for a meal, which was the other thing I was considering. Since she recommended the tamales though I got the regular one which is sweet kind of like a dessert and came with honey. It was very good. Prices were great. All and all, I enjoyed it very much and would recommend a stop in. I would come back again.

It was a chilly night so there weren't a ton of people out and about, but the ambiance of Box Canyon was warm and welcoming and just what I was looking for. They had a diverse list of beers for such a small brewery, and wasn't able to choose just one. I did a flight instead (they also have smaller pours if you just want to sample one or two). We chatted with David, who I believe is the owner, and he was so knowledgeable and willing to share all about the brewing operation. It was fun to learn how he made each beer, and they were really good. I don't usually like an IPA, but I even liked the IPA! Multiple of us commented on how good the red ale was, and it was unique in that it looked kinda like a stout. The panini menu is also lovely, and it's nice to find something different from the other restaurants in Socorro. I would definitely recommend checking this place out before a lot of the others.

We happened upon them at the annual Bosque del Apache Crane Festival after a long cold morning is sub 20°F (±-6°C) watching the cranes do their morning thing. We ordered two dirty chais w/ oat milk, and they were tasty and priced well @$7/ea. Service was fast and friendly, and I appreciate that he doesn't charge an oat milk tax.
