Absolutely do NOT waste your time or money at EV Fix Me. I gave this place not one, but TWO chances to get it right--and both times were an absolute failure. My first visit was back in March 2025. I brought my Tesla Model S Plaid in after watching all these hyped-up YouTube videos claiming these guys were "EV experts." What a joke. I sat there literally ALL DAY--eight hours gone--only for them to tell me they couldn't fix the issue and that I'd be better off going to Tesla. No resolution. No real explanation. Just, "Sorry, can't help." Fast forward a few months later, the clicking sound from the front end returns. Against my better judgment, I gave them another shot. I called early during the week of June 24 and was told they had a 9 a.m. appointment available for June 27. I dropped the car off, Ubered home, and was told it should be ready the same day. What happened? Nothing. No call Friday. No update Saturday. Sunday, they're closed, so I waited until Monday afternoon to finally reach out myself. Their excuse? "We couldn't duplicate the sound." So the car just sat there. No diagnosis, no fix--and not even the courtesy of a phone call. My car sat in their yard all weekend long, and when I finally got it back, it was covered in filth--like they let it sit outside in a dust storm. No protection, no respect for my vehicle. And here's the kicker: When I went to pick it up, they suddenly said, "Oh, we were just about to put it on the lift." Really? Now you magically hear the sound as I'm pulling away? But instead of owning up to their lack of effort, they tried to flip it on me: "Well, you don't want us to fix it because you're picking it up now." That's not how professional service works. That's not how you treat a customer's time or vehicle. They never tried to fix the problem, never communicated, and left my high-end car sitting outside collecting grime. It's clear now--they're not EV experts. They're EV guessers, and unfortunately, I was the one left paying for their incompetence. Do NOT support this business. Go literally anywhere else if you want your EV handled with care and competence.

BEFORE: How far off my alignment was

After much thought and seeing other similar experiences, I figured I ought to speak up as well. TLDR; Tony is a good guy. Alignment is outsourced and it's awful, do NOT recommend. My parts are also damaged. After taking delivery of my Model S Plaid, I was quick to have it lowered using N2itive lowering links and rear control arms to correct rear geometry caused by lowering a car. I dropped the car off for rear control arm installation on the first day and was hopeful to have it back same day, but was informed it would likely be done the next day for alignment purposes. To my dismay, I located my car at American Tire Depot a ways down the street where it was parked unlocked and unsecured (in the front lot, not protected indoors or behind their rear gate) overnight. Luckily I was able to lock my car remotely. The next day I got the car back and it made clunking noise in the front left but also did not track straight. I brought up the issue with Tony and he was happy to assist, but did put blame on me that my alignment was done less than perfect because I inquired about having it back the day before... I was essentially gaslighted for being at fault that my alignment was off. With my alignment still off, I had to come back on a separate day and was told to just go directly to American Tire Depot to have it remedied. I waited 3 hours (with an appointment) because apparently the available techs were not able to do it and they needed a specific tech to try and get it done. Well 2 months later, and maybe approximately 1,000 miles of driving it, my steering wheel was far off center, my car was not tracking straight, and my alert was on saying I needed alignment service. After my experience with this whole fiasco, I took it elsewhere as one could imagine. Another alignment from a reputable shop and $200 later, I'm now well within spec despite being lowered and the car feels great. I've attached my before and after specs for reference of how F'd my car was. They found my rear control arms both had nearly stripped Allen bolts and both rear toe arms were loose, with one side nearly falling off completely, causing my toe to be very incorrect. I'd love to give Tony another shot at other services offered, but as you can imagine my first impression was far from superb.

EVFixMe is AWESOME !!! My 2015 Model S P85D driver's seat base got stuck all the way back and wouldn't move forward. Tesla Costa Mesa Service Center diagnosed it and said the only solution was to buy an entire new seat base for $3,394.38 !!! I took it to Tony at EVFixMe and he took 10 minutes to diagnose that it only needed a the motor / drive replaced, NOT an entire seat base... and had my Tesla fixed in 2 hours for $521.31 !!! This saved me $2,873.07 AND retained my existing driver's NextGen seat cover that Tesla said they had to replace AND wouldn't have matched my beautiful existing front & rear tan NextGen seats. Thanks Tony and the Techs at EVFixMe !!!

New alignment from Unplugged Performance. The before measurements were from EVFixMe.

Really tried to give this shop a chance. Tony is very nice and is really trying to give good service, but the lack of attention to detail was extremely frustrating. Between time lost and lack of quality control, this shop gave us a difficult experience. The first time we visited, we had camber arms and lowering links installed along with an alignment. A part was left loose after the parts were installed which caused a loud clunking sound to be heard from the front end. Tony said the sound was most likely an issue that was there from the day we took delivery and in turn I had to take the car in to the Tesla service center. This turned out not to be the case and it was found to be from the installation of the camber arms and links. I believe the service center adjusted this issue, but I cannot recall. Our second visit was to readjust the alignment as this was not done correctly during the first visit. Unfortunately, the alignment was done through an outsourced shop down the street. Alignments can be very tricky on Teslas and having it done right can be very hard to find. Tony assured us that the car was ready to be picked up and he personally drove the car to check the alignment. When we came to pick up the car, he said the alignment was still off and the alignment would need to be done a THIRD time. Tony ended up giving us a refund for the alignment, which was very much appreciated. The process was overall an unnecessary hassle for us and unfortunately I cannot confidently recommend this shop. We had much better luck driving the extra distance to Unplugged Performance in Hawthorne. They were able to successfully perform a thorough alignment and correct any mistakes done at this shop. Unplugged was also able to do it in a timely manner and we were able to pick up the car by the end of the day. Car was charged and ready for pickup as promised.

    Ask the Community - EVFixMe

I'm looking at purchasing a used 2016 model X and want to do a full inspection before I purchase it. Main concerns are High Voltage battery, drive units and suspension. Hearing sounds when going under 20mph and creaking from right side of suspension?

Can you replace model s door handle?

Yes I had my model s drive side handle repaired by them. They did in less than an hour. Cheaper than replacing with new Tesla handle. They replace the old plastic gear with metal gears.

Hi. Do you install a power frunk on a MY? Thank you.

Yes and we usually have evoffer kits in stock.

I have a feb 2018 Tesla x P100d. I have been taking my car into the SC inBurbank. Now there's a constant percolating sound/hum/ bubbling when the a/c is off. The front drive unit was replaced right before this sound. Could this be mcu2 chip?

Generally not, mcu2 has a much larger chip and should not be getting black screen issues. We would need to do some diagnosing when you come to our garage to determine the cause of your noise.

    What is your address?

Our main location is in Costa Mesa https://yelp.to/bsBUx7p3lbb

Hey Guys! We have a 2012 Tesla S that has the dreaded screen issue-most options on the screen are unusable (but screen is still sort of working). Assuming is needs the Emmc upgrade? If I come to you whats the timeframe & cost?

Yes. How soon can you get here and when did it go bad? Chips that old may be totally dead and unreadable.… Read more

They understood exactly what was happening before they even saw the car. Instead of pushing a costly $6,000 engine replacement, Byron found a way to rebuild the engine through a machine shop, saving me thousands. That kind of honesty is rare. The repairs took time, but they never rushed. They kept us updated, checked every detail, and refused to release the vehicle until they were absolutely sure there were no leaks, no issues, no surprises. After dealing with another shop that returned our Honda Pilot with oil leaks, this level of care meant everything. What stood out most was their integrity. Their kindness. Their commitment to doing the right thing even when it takes longer or costs them more effort. If we lived closer to Costa Mesa, we'd bring every one of our vehicles here without hesitation. There truly aren't enough words to describe how thankful I am for Byron and his team. They didn't just fix my SUV -- they restored my trust in what an honest auto shop can be.

Because of that, I came back for multiple oil changes. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was completely different. I was charged a high price for what should have been a simple oil change and cabin/air filter replacement, and I ended up waiting about two hours for the work to be completed. After talking it through with someone more familiar with car maintenance, it became clear that I was likely overcharged for a job that should have been quicker and more reasonably priced. What made the experience worse was the interaction before my appointment. When I asked for clarification about being told I may need "air," EU laughed at me for asking. I'm neurodivergent and sometimes take things more literally, so I was just trying to confirm whether I was being charged for something that is often free. Instead of explaining, I felt mocked for asking a simple question. Because of this experience, I no longer feel comfortable or confident returning here. I'm sharing this as a caution for other customers--especially women and neurodivergent people--who may not be as familiar with car maintenance and rely on mechanics to be honest, respectful, and transparent.
