Took my car to Electron Automotive on 4/7/25 for an oil change and tire rotation. Cesar was friendly, sodas were a nice touch, and he asked for a positive Yelp review on the spot, which I gave. A year later, walking it back. Invoice never confirmed the oil change. Cesar said they skipped the rotation because my car "didn't need it" but tires should be rotated every 5k and I was due. My car still had OEM tires with wheel locks, and the dealership had neglected to give me the key to remove the tires, which I didn't know at the time. Bad on the dealer, bad on Electron, they almost certainly noticed and could've flagged it instead of the brush-off. Brought in my 2017 Kia Niro with 97k miles for a paid inspection with the idea that if there were any issues covered under Kia's 100k powertrain and hybrid warranties I could bring in a 3rd party to advocate for me with the dealer. Or if there were major issues to expect down the road, I could look into getting a new car instead of fixing this one. Ethan V. greeted me on his lunch break but made sure to listen to why I was there and gave me an idea of how long the wait would be and what to expect. Fortunately the car had a nearly clean bill of health. That is to be expected because I kept up with regular maintenance on the car. But they did recommend a few items to address to extend the useful life of the car: (1) Control Arms and Bushings had moderate wear, (2) my second set of tires had 3mm of tread, (3) the cabin air filter was a little worse for wear. My main concern, and why I brought it to this shop, was for hybrid red flags like battery issues. As Ethan explained to me, without taking apart the hybrid battery, it would not be possible to give a comprehensive health check for it. But since there were no error codes that came up that would indicate a problem with the hybrid system, the battery was still in good condition. He mentioned an anecdote of other Niros he's seen that that had 200k with the original battery to allay my concerns. He mentioned that I should also consider replacing the spark plugs probably due the mileage of the car. After giving me an estimate on what the cost would be if I decided to have them work on the issues, he said he could apply the paid inspection cost on the work if I decided to proceed in the next 30 days. Run!!!! Seriously! Christian told me to bring my Chevy Volt in and it would be a $150 Diagnostics fee. I drove 20 miles in afternoon traffic. They would tell me why the car was not charging. Bait and Switch! I arrive and he would ONLY do the diagnostics AFTER he did a "Bumper to Bumper" inspection! I have no interest in having people go all through my car when Nothing is wrong but the AC charging! He claimed it was a Liability issue. TL;DR Fair and honest business that isn't pushy. Very knowledgeable with hybrids and will tell you what's good/bad with your car. Caesar and the team rocked! I was late to my appointment, but they still accommodated me well and got me out in a timely manner. I found them through Yelp and through online car forums that specialized in hybrid vehicles. Their customer service and care for their clients is top class, as we can see from their replies here on Yelp. That's what ultimately got me in the door. I brought in a 2006 Prius that I just got from a friend. My friend took pretty good care of it, but I just wanted to get a professional to take a look at it in case there was anything that needed to be replaced. They recommended a general check up ($100) and after about 60-90 minutes, they came back with a pretty good list of what's in the green/yellow/overdue maintenance/red. They weren't pushy and were very helpful with answering any questions they had. The price for the check up could also go towards a service that they offer so I opted to do the throttle body maintenance ($199). Awesome job all around, and gave me peace of mind. In June of 2024, I took my Volt to Electron because it was having a problem, they were going to charge me a $1000.00 to fix a problem that was covered by General Motor warranty. When I discovered it and brought it to their attention, they charged me $149.00 . They charge is not the problem, The problem is that they were going to charge me a $1000 for a job they should have known was covered under extended warranty by General Motors, after all they claim to be the experts. read more

Dealerships wanted 225.00 to troubleshoot and then possibly another 500.00 for repair. So I have a story for you. I needed to get my control arms changed as they were worn down. The initial part with the MOOGS was quoted at a higher price. I asked to see if I could get the OEMs cause I like to keep critical parts OEM as much as possible. Later that day, I get a call from Electron. And told me that the OEMs were actually cheaper. They didn't have to tell me that the OEM part is $209 cheaper for control arms. But they did, and that's why I trust them. They're transparent, and honest about their service. I had a weird electrical issue where at first my front passenger + rear driver's side windows were going up/down intermittently and at the same time from a switch. I tried replacing the switch and motors but didn't fix the issue. About a week later i got some lights on my dash and the check engine light indicated a high value for throttle input (electrical problem). My usual mechanic said they don't troubleshoot electrical issues so i searched for "auto electric" and was very lucky to find Electron Automotive. From the moment i got there Caesar was extremely friendly and courteous and took the car in to see what is going on. He said we would call me with more info a few hrs later and was true to his word. The shop ended up needing a couple of days to find all the issues but he kept me updated with texts and calls and explained what they discovered at every step. It turned out that i had 2 problems: 1) wires being pinched and cut at the door jam was causing the power window issues 2) a rodent had nested into my engine bay and was chewing on other wires causing the check engine lights Caesar explained everything in detail fixed the problems and offered tips for keeping rodents away in the future. Hi Yelpers, I found this repair center on Yelp. I had a 12 volt battery that was going out on me causing me to jump my car in the morning before work. Instead of going to the dealership, I went to Electron that specializes in hybrids. The Hyundai Ionic Plug In Hybrid requires a special 12 volt battery and they were able to get on for me in one day. Too be really honest I read all the good reviews and some of the bad ones but overall I'm very happy with the service I got from Christian the service advisor. I also got a detailed report with pictures on my car for things I need to do down the road. I look forward to working with Christian again and hopefully making this car go a LONG time. I commute 160 miles from Victorville to Santa Ana everyday and I'm sure something will happen as my car gets older. I highly recommend you make an appointment because this is a very busy service center. They have lots of cars coming in for service daily. JUST FYI. The facility is clean and the people who work there are nice and also clean. FYI I work at a truck dealership so I know when there is a good service center and a bad one. My poor Prius has hauled me around for 614,000 miles and on a recent trip to Huntington Beach the red triangle of death came on and my Veepeak Code reader said the #8 battery block was showing high internal resistance. Sent out messages to all the area experts and heard back from Electron promptly. Next morning I called and made arrangements to pay for the new cells and sent a driver over to collect my purchase of four cells. The order was ready and I got a text they were on their way to me. An hour later I had tested the HV Battery and confirmed one of the two cells in block 8 was bad and made the swap. It was a perfect experience, no attitude about doing my own repairs, no pressure.
