LoAn's is a hidden gem of a stylist. I admit, that I put off writing this review because I have gatekeeping. But this week has been over 2 years that I've gone to Loan for my pixie cut. Anyone can do hair coloring and long hairstyles, but not everyone can do a great looking short haircut. During Covid, I grew out my hair and had it cut to donate it. I tried several stylists to get the right look for my facial features. Then I found LoAn's because It's close to home. The first time, I explained to Loan my style and how I want something that's easy to take care of and professional looking. She listened to me and also offered some suggestions. I have a flat back of my head, but she cuts it in a way that gives me extra body. Loan does her magic! Now I am committed to Loan because she does such a great job! I always get compliments on my cut and how it fits me. And she is flexible and accommodating when I call day of, willing to fit me in whenever possible. I see her male clients and they look great as well. Hope she gets her calendar filled and more people hear about her. read more

LoAn is just excellent. She has a great way with men's hair. I show her a picture of the length that I want, and she takes my suggestion and adds her own perspective on what would look best. I'm glad I listen to her because I get a lot of compliments on my hair, and it grows in perfectly for months after I visit. Her shop has a very organic, old school feel and it's a genuine local business. It's always a fun conversation and relaxing time there, and she does a wonderful job washing and conditioning my hair afterwards. I recommend calling ahead because she's deservedly very busy! Went for a trim to get rid of split ends, came out with an outdated 90s haircut. I explained my requirement to LoAn and also shared some pictures of what I was hoping my hair cut could be like. She shared her opinion of how none of that would work and how my hair had layers far apart which she 'fixed'. She had her own idea of what my trim should look like and it looks like I went back to the 90s for a haircut, which is so not what I had in mind. read more

Lo Ann is forceful about her own ideas, pushes her agenda and doesn't listen to her customers. I came in for partial babylights and layers. I showed her pictures of the color and I wanted to achieve it by bleaching and tone. I also requested the technique of dimensional foiling so it's a blended look. Lo Ann gives her input of what she thought would be better for me and claiming that it would achieve the same look, even reassuring me that she would pay me instead if it wasn't the same. She then highlights my hair a light orange/brown color rather bleach and tone, a full highlight rather than partial and that she uses her own foiling technique because the foiling technique I requested was an "old technique". I GOT EXACTLY WHAT I DIDN'T, an orange/brown color and streaky highlights. When I asked her to refund the money so I can get it fixed somewhere else who will listen to me, she said no because in her opinion, my hair looked nice. And if I wanted to redo it, she'll just charge me again So you've been fairly warned. Save your hair and money and FIND SOME PLACE ELSE. read more

LoAn seems to have strong opinions about what you should do with your hair and she does great in following that. Unfortunately in my case it did not match what I wanted. I thought it might be a matter of letting it grow into the shape but after three weeks the ends still looked scraggly and blunt in some spots. It is definitely a good place to get a good hair-cut. I'm not the person who would spend more than an hour to just get a hair-cut and I liked the fact that she was done with hair-wash, cut and blow-dry in under 45 minutes. The result was great. I love the layered cut, and the blow-dry made my brown hair color look good. Loan is an amazing stylist! I dropped by to make an appointment and she was able to accommodate me the next day. She was very understanding of what a wanted. With her advice and expertise, I felt very safe and comfortable with her and what she would do with my hair. She was honest about what would work best for my thick and dark hair which I appreciated.
