    Mahi Tacos- amazing!

It was rainy out so we decided to eat in at the Westin. The Evoq did not disappoint with a great cocktails variety and the food being wonderful. We also had a very nice server.

Perfectly cooked hash browns with delicious sausage links

Staying at the Westin, this is their restaurant hotel. Some hotel restaurants can be very good and some can be very bad, this probably falls in the upper half. On a very rainy morning its location in the hotel was very convenient as we didn't want to brave the elements. We stayed in for breakfast. Like the rest of the hotel, the restaurant is clean, bright and modern. It wasn't very busy so we were seated right away in a spacious comfortable booth. The staff were pleasant and quick with the orders, it was breakfast so how long does it take. My wife got the continental which is complimentary, pastries, fruit, yogurt scrambled eggs, toast but she got sides of hash browns and sausage. I got the Cuban breakfast sandwich, when in Rome, it was okay though I'd much rather have stuck with toast, eggs over easy, bacon, and hash browns. I have to add that the hash browns were stellar, really, most places over cook it, these were perfectly crispy and soft inside. Their dinner menu, though small looked very interesting. Though it's a beautiful ocean side town, I don't see myself going back to Sarasota (went for a wedding), but if I am I'd try their dinner. Better than average hotel restaurant.

    Great coffee!

Great start to my morning! This was not at all a typical hotel restaurant breakfast. There was a continental buffet available that was more typical for a hotel but I opted for ordering off the menu. The coffee was a smooth dark roast that was nice and strong. So happy with my selection of Avocado Toast with a poached egg and hash browns plus a mango/spinach/cilantro juice. Was nervous about the cilantro but it added a nice flavor and wasn't too sweet. I ate and enjoyed every bite of what I was served. They get a solid B for the cook on the poached egg. Had good service and enjoyed the upscale but comfy vibe.

Had dinner here on a very rainy evening. While the restaurant was relatively busy, the bar area had ample seating. The bartender showed me to a nice corner by the window. The steak sandwich was cooked well and salad and topping were fresh and delicious!

Had a really nice time at EVOQ. I like the decor, and the staff were really nice and friendly. We had the Chori Burger, and The Noodle Bowl with Sticky Griled Salmon. Both were delicious. Would be going back.

Chimichurri steak and maduro puree was delish. Perfect in every way. Flavor party in my mouth for sure.

Absolutely delicious chimichurri steak! That paired with the maduro puree was fire. So good.

    Antioxidant Omelet

I had a one night business trip at the Westin and dined here for both dinner and breakfast. The service team was extremely accommodating with my dietary restrictions. The food was fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the ambiance and found it to be relaxing. Pricing is customary for a nice resort restaurant. Depending on what you order, it is not the quickest but they give you plenty of notice as the food is made fresh. The wait ended up being much less than anticipated. Overall, a great experience both times for me.

    Crab Mac N Cheese

Beautiful restaurant with a nice outside view. We went on a slow night and the service was excellent. everything is made fresh to order so they were very open to substitutions and special requests. We had the Caesar salad, crab mac and cheese, chori burger, and pana cotta dessert, all were amazing.

Blackened Grouper with grits and kimchi

Sometimes a restaurant in a chain hotel like The Westin do not get their due but the EVOQ was outstanding. I had the blackened Grouper with grits and kimchi and it was outstanding. Grouper was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside and combination was delicious

The breakfast was simple, but the flavors and service were excellent ! The orange juice is freshly squeezed. We ordered the silver pancakes and Westin breakfast. Without asking they split the plates that were being shared ahead of time . Our server rosita and her team provided great service ! Very convenient if you stayed at this location . Decent portion and great quality

Best friend onion soup EVER!!! It comes in a HUGE bowl which is almost a meal on it's self. OH, it is SOOOO Good!!!

My wife and I were staying at The Westin Sarasota and wanted to have dinner somewhere close so there was a restaurant in the hotel called Evoq. I am usually not a big fan of hotel restaurants but this one is well deserving of the 5 stars. Our waiter Gregory, I would highly recommend asking for him, was extremely attentive and anticipated what we needed. Everyone was so friendly and the manager Tony came over and asked if there was anything we needed and wished my wife a Happy Birthday. Now the food. One of the must have is the candied bacon, so worth the calories. The mahi mahi tacos are amazing!!! My wife had the blackened grouper, she thought it was the beat she ever had. There is probably not anything on the menu that is not great. So if you are in Sarasota, head to the Westin and enjoy a great and relaxing dinner!

I was seated facing a wall so I didn't get a good long look at my surroundings but between what I did see and looking at photos posted on Yelp the theme seems to be chickens. Our server was friendly and available to answer any questions as we spent time looking over the menu. I settled on The Hitman, a double patty smashed burger with American cheese, hen sauce, fried mozzarella, Nueske's bacon, with a side of garlic parm fries. It isn't listed on the online menu but there is a note the menu changes frequently so it may not match the day's offering. Let me start by saying that two of the people at my table got salads and were disappointed that there was too much lettuce and too little other stuff. With that out of the way, let me talk about The Hitman, which I loved. What is Nueske bacon? This is a special smoked flavorful bacon made by the Nueske family. Fork & Hen uses thick cut, and there were two slices on my burger. My burger towered so high there was no hope of picking it up, so I attacked it with knife and fork. Being made with Focaccia bread certainly added to the height, but so did a thick block of mozzzrella cheese. The cheese, melted on the inside and crispy on the outside, was substantial. I would be careful biting into a hot block of melted cheese, think pizza mouth. In my photo I broke into one corner to show that is cheese, so much cheese. The burger patty part topped with American cheese was by itself great, like you might find at a home cookout or Smashburgers. Other toppings were there but for me this was meat and a lot of cheese. And as much bread as you want. I loved my surprising good cheeseburger.

Our table ordered a couple of dishes: chicken and waffles, southern fried chicken, shrimp fried rice, and the hitman. The water tasted like it came straight from the water fountain outside the restaurant. Chicken was overly breaded and salty, and the corn cake was sour. I also don't know how they managed to dry out dark meat. The waffle was semi burnt. The shrimp "fried rice" was soggy, vinegary, almost sushi rice like texture, and shrimp was heavily salted. The hitman smashed burger... the hitman probably killed people with the insane amount of salt on the plate. See the theme? Lighten up on the salt unless you're trying to give your customers clogged arteries. Extremely disappointing considering all the great reviews we saw before going.
