After taking out pizza here a number of times, and having a consistently good experience, I decided to dine in and try some of the other menu items. Our server was Veronica, and she was very friendly and attentive. We started with the Mediterranean Falafel bowl which was large enough to share. It was a nice refreshing salad with good flavors and textures. Entrees were the macaroni and cheese which was a bit bland, but tasted freshly made, and the veggie risotto which was a nice mix of flavors. The dessert was the highlight of the meal; the Strawberry Cream Cake - Highly recommend-the cake is a cross between regular cake and shortcake and all the flavors and textures come together nicely! read more

This place is phenomenal! The food and the ambience is top notch for Rochester. I've been many times and have never had a bad experience and for the quality of food it is great! Didn't expect much from this place since its a chain, but i was very surprised by how good the pizza is. NH has a very low quality of pizza, it all seems to be greek pizza on the level of Charles E. Cheese. I got the fried polpeta pizza and it was delicious. I usually get my pizza from Revolution Taproom, but ill be going here as well to get my fix. Can't speak to the rest of the food, but service was also good, very attentive. Nice add to the Ridge. read more

TL;DR Food is really subpar and to add insult to injury not worth the premium prices. First off, great location, great ambiance, clean, great staff. I ordered chicken Parm for $23 and the spaghetti tasted like it was in a giant pot on the back burner to serve in bulk - I can't cook but I could have done better myself with Prince and a jar of Numans. Chicken was alright. The whole dish had no seasoning. Was the portion large? Sure, but it didn't make me any more excited to eat it the next day. I should also note we had also gotten their take out pizza a few weeks earlier that tasted like it went through a food dehydrator - not an ounce of moisture, just chewy leather, which I'm guessing someone just forgot about in the oven. I realize they are fairly new, and I honestly do wish them luck, just currently there are better Italian options in the area. read more

Everything from entering to exiting was a positive experience! Loved the decor, greeted promptly and had an awesome waitress named Michelle! 2 1/2 -3 stars, Is what it is. Can't really bash the place, because it was what we expected. Portion controlled chain restaurant food service food. Nothing you couldn't make at home, very bland, don't let the menu descriptions fool you. Service and servers were pleasant and well meaning, but appeared to lack training. Expediter plunks down two $30 bowls of food with a thud and runs away. No managerial presence as well. Oh well, we came, we saw , we conquered. ( stick to the wine Julius). Even while they where packed to the gills, all staff were cordial and friendly. We managed a table--between reservations (STRONGLY RECOMMENDED)-- and were then greeted with exemplary cocktails, apps that appeared so fast it's as though they knew what we'd order, and then BAM! some of the most amazing meals (note: half order is probably fine unless you're REALLY hungry) Yes, they have the 'bar scene' with TVs.....but you can also sit outside by the fire...or at a 'low top' for ambiance. It was packed, but not loud. Fast service, but not rushed. And.....THE FOOD!!!! First time in a long time finding a place I'd be willing to share with my mother who's all too often saying 'I could make this....and probably better'. Challenge accepted. Welcome to Rochester. My husband and I went for lunch today at the new Evviva Trattoria in Rochester, NH. it was a cute place, decorated very nicely. Limited menu due to shortage of kitchen staff (what we were told). My husband had a chicken Parmesan sandwich and I had a small gluten-free pizza. My husband said his was pretty good and mine was absolutely horrid. The worst gluten-free pizza I have ever had plus it was almost stone cold. $48 later which included tip, we left. Way too much money for mediocre food at best. We will not be going back. read more

Not what we expected. Expected a real Italian experience. This is not. I had veal parmigiana it was okay. I don't think it was veal. Flank or strip maybe but I've had veal and I'm pretty sure that wasn't. The other meal was a chicken ranch pizza. It was good but not "wow" good. Food could have been hotter, temperature wise. Our 1st time here and it was a birthday dinner so very disappointing. The service was very good, the bread and oil and the Italian margarita were also very good. The food, not very good at all. The chicken marsala had no flavor whatsoever, certainly not any marsala flavor. The cheese ravioli was just ok, meatball was cheesy tasting and very salty. Did get seated right away and my wife loves Italian. The waitress was very attentive and helped us with our first time there (for a while). After that, well, things got worse. The garlic cheesy bread had no taste of either garlic or cheesy ( a lot of cheese on it but no flavor). My wife got chicken parm with spaghetti and I got the Steak Gorgonzola. Her chicken was cooked good, but again either canned sauce or they make a batch of it up and it just sits. Seen they had sauce for sale on the way out, so my suspicions is this is premade sauce. My Steak Gorgonzola was unappealing, a LOT of greens and steak tips on the side, not even cut up. Very tough meat and the I asked that the dressings be on the side and so i could add as needed. This did not happen and I asked for extra dressing and got something that did not even go with it. The waitress then seemed to forget our table and never got drink refills till the very end (in very small glasses). Also very noisy. Overall, very disappointed, not going back, and paying attention to detail is very important. Now I will wait for the canned response from the moderator. Thank you. read more

Not a very good place at all. The service was very slow and subpar. The food was mediocre at best. My husband ordered some meat that we had to wait 30 minutes to cook and it came out extremely bland. We ordered the calamari appetizer and it was very greasy. When the manager came to check on us and we told him about our experience he didn't care much and basically said, "oh well, sorry". I have been to the Rochester location twice and here is what I have discovered. Each employee I dealt with, from host/hostess, wait staff and bartender were wonderful and friendly. I thank them all for their hospitality. First I had arancini. Created in Sicily, arancini is a street food for workers on the go. Large rice balls stuffed with meat, cheese, etc. and deep fried. The name derives from the shape, that of an orange (arancia). I've been making arancini for 30 years and am constantly trying to find something as good as mine. The US started treating arancini as appetizers, golf ball size, or smaller, for easier cooking and better aesthetics. Evviva does the same. Their smaller unstuffed versions lack flavor and are fried with panko, not traditional Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. If you simply called them fried mini rice balls, they would be fine, but for arancini they are off the mark. Two entrees, chicken parmigiana and lasagna with bolognas. When assessing a restaurant, I always start with the basics. If they can't do those well, they don't have a chance at much else. I received an enormous portion of spaghetti which well overshadowed a tiny fried chicken breast. Normally chicken parm consist of a layer of spaghetti, usually a 3-4 ounce portion, with a large breast or two laid atop, covered in cheese and sauce (gravy for my paisons). Evviva's was accompanied by an unusual dollop of very creamy whipped ricotta and a nice pesto. Excellent, yet out of place. I prefer pan fried chicken, but you'll rarely find that in today's restaurants as it i time-consuming. The sauce tasted fresh and simple. Tomatoes, a little salt, some basil and maybe some olive oil. Simple and fresh. If the chicken portion wasn't so miniscule, I would have been pleased. The lasagna was a medium portion that was covered in the Evviva's rendition of bolognas. I assume it was their tomato sauce with cream and ground meat added. A far reach from traditional bolognas which is cooked for hours, with onions, carrots, celery, building layers of flavor and usually containing white wine or sherry. Theirs was one of the worst attempts I've encountered. For dessert we had cannoli. It's vital that cannoli are filled just before serving, to keep the shell crunchy. Evviva did this to perfection. Instead of using mascarpone they used their whipped ricotta, adding enough powdered sugar to make it sweet, without being too sweet. My compliments on this. A few days later I stopped back for their pizza. I discovered issues with their menu. Ignoring the fact, they list three risotto dishes under "Pasta", their pizza offerings are very inconsistent. 16-inch Margherita is $21.50. However, you can make your own 16" pizza with an additional cheese blend for $18, as I did. Add pepperoni and it's $20 or buy their pre-priced pepperoni for $21.50. This is a huge menu mistake, showing the senior management team did not take this task seriously. I am aware they are new and learning at all stages of the restaurant, so I give no bad marks to the oblong pizza I received. Darker on one side than the other, nothing that made it unpalatable. The crust was surprisingly good. A nice chew, good yeasty flavor. What did astonish me was the lady sitting behind me received an order of chicken parmigiana with a cutlet 4 times the size as the one I had a few days earlier. Then, the lady next to me also received her chicken parmigiana and hers was half the size as the one sent out behind me. She did, however, receive a Mount Vesuvius portion of spaghetti. So here's my soap box on consistency and expediters. Expediter is arguably one of the most important roles in a restaurant. They are the buffer between the kitchen and the waitstaff. They are the last line of defense in making sure the customer's order/ticket was processed right. Making sure the customer who didn't want cheese didn't get cheese, ensuring the kids meal has the right veggie, MAKING SURE ALL DISHES LOOK THE SAME OUT OF THE KITCHEN. I have seen three plates of chicken parmigiana leave that kitchen and no two were remotely alike. Another lady received an order of short ribs on top of an ocean of polenta. Guaranteed she had twice as much as she should have. Let's go back to my other statement; they are new, they still must learn. Well, that doesn't cut it for the expeditor, because who is there to teach them? No, they should have already been trained and they, above all others, should be as perfect as possible. Make no mistake about it, this is a chain owned by a corporate entity. The manager is there to order supplies, make schedules, and handle customer complaints in the style home office wants them handled. They are not teaching the line cooks how to put out a consistent product, teaching the pizza maker how to make a round pizza, teaching the expeditor anything. Evvivo's motto is "Italian Inspired". That says a lot. They are not Italian and don't pretend to be. read more

I have been to Evviva to dine in twice and have had take out twice. Will not be going back. 1) First dine in experience 7!!!!! things we tried to order were " unable to be made due to staffing issues". We did get the lasagna fritters which were good . My daughter had a short rib sandwich which she enjoyed. I had what was supposed to be bolognese but certainly was not... it was a not very good meat sauce. The service was rushed, inattentive and we were not offered dessert. 2) Second dine in experience I went with friends. It started fine. We had the chips with 2 dips-- the onion one was excellent. Though it was ridiculously priced. The waitress heard us talking about how one of our friends couldn't eaten gluten and thoughtfully brought her some gluten free bread. Unfortunately this is where the positive ended. My gluten free friend ordered salmon " medium rare". What she received was a tiny portion of grossly over cooked fish. My other friend wanted simply cheese ravioli in pesto sauce. He specified just put cheese ravioli in the plate and pour pesto over it. Pretty easy. I had a sandwich that was fine. Our entrees came and the ravioli was wrong. He again explained what he wanted. 25 !!! minutes later he was again brought the wrong dish. Again he sent it back. 20 minutes later someone came out of the kitchen to ask what he ordered and he said never mind , he didn't want anything. Meanwhile our original waitress is no where to be found until I see her standing across the cafeteria like space chatting with a table. We had to fight for 30 minutes to get the ravioli off the bill. Both take out experiences were no better. The order was wrong both times and on the second order I discovered there is a 6% surcharge for take out!!! Food 5/10 Service2/10 Ambiance 3/10 read more

Second visit yesterday. We did not have a good experience when we first went right after it opened but thought we would give it another shot. Needless to say we regret going. First we asked if the chicken parm was thin or thick and the bartender said it was on the thinner side, which is untrue. Mind you it costs 24.00. Second I ordered a pizza and asked for it a little crispy. It came out just about burnt. She came over and said is that crispy enough for you, as i told them to make it extra crispy. I believe that she knew i was upset about how well done and was trying to cover it up. Then the bill came- i had two drinks and my husband had 3 beers. The bill was 111.00. I had noticed that there were not many people there for dinner time on Sunday, now I understand why. read more

TERRIBLE!! I Sent an email to the general manager over a month ago and zero response about a compete disgusting visit we witnessed at this place. The food mehhh , service awful, the disgusting infractions around food appalling and will never return. Here are just a couple gross things that occurred. many issues. 1) pizza girl training another short guy and she isn't wearing gloves she is placing raw dough up her bare arm to carry it to another part of the table to make pizza. While she is doing this the other pizza guy is sweeping into a foldable dust pan picking it up with his gloved hands to empty then goes back to touching all the pizza stuff. 2) bartender after she proceeds to say she has been sick all week picks up wine glass and in front of another patron wipes it with her dirty shirt 3) bartender giving wrong checks to people and then just keeps making excuses for her mistakes. Just say sorry my bad I'll fix that right now. I apologize everything she did wrong she had Ana excuse for. No one wants to hear it especially if you're bullshitting it. 4) bartender leaving loads of dirty dishes in plain view of patrons along with where she is dealing with clean items. The back kitchen to dump these is steps away and should be taken care of right away. It's a hazard and it's disgusting looking. Also there should be everyone in the front end trained to pull up checks for people. The ladies next to us waited forever and had to ask while she was too busy waiting on a single guy that came in and out he had no issues getting service or refilled drinks or a check. Complete disappointment. My husband and I both have worked in food service in our younger days and this is stuff you are taught you just don't do. Especially in front of patrons. I think the open kitchen concept is gross to begin with and should not be allowed either. SHAME ON MR BELANGER for zero response to my email. Stay clear not worth it. read more

The food, service, and ambiance were great. We were sat in the back of the room in a high booth! There was a section in the front of the room that didn't look as alluring to sit in. They were on a wait of an hour. They took my name and offered to call when table was ready. I waited in my car and re-entered at about 40 minute mark for ease of the hostess. We were sat in less than an hour, prob 40-45 minutes. We started with arancini and garlic bread to test the red sauce! It was good so we proceeded to order 3 meals to share. We got chicken piccata, chicken parmigiana, and orecchiette with sausage and broccoli raab. The orecchiette was well seasoned and very tasty, same with the piccata. The chicken parm was tender with a good texture on the breading. The pasta was tossed with the sauce which isn't my preference but the sauce was tasty. All and all very enjoyable. possibly the worst dining experience I have had in many years. billed as an Italian trattoria it's closer to a cafeteria that serves quasi Italian food at ridiculously expensive prices for the quality and lack of any kind of intimate atmosphere. my guest and I ordered our meals, a lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs that comes with a Cesar salad. My guests lasagna came out with my salad but my spaghetti was missing. the waitress apologized claiming she made an error and didn't put my order in and then promised it would be out in five minutes. I ate the salad which was nothing more than day old Romain lettuce dressed with a weak mayonna and garlic dressing that was most defiantly not Cesar dressing or even close and, they charged me nine bucks for it. My guest finished the lasagna and still no main course for me twenty minutes later. The waitress came over and apologized yet again and said she would go check to see where my order was but then she stopped at another table and chatted with someone for at least five minutes. finally, after a good half hour she comes back with a bowl of overcooked pasta with two nasty looking meatballs sitting on top and no sauce. I told her I didn't want it at this point and she said she would comp the price of the spaghetti. Then the surly manager comes over with the bill and tried to get me to pay for the spaghetti to go, no apology at all. I told her the restaurant was terrible and she barked that she would not be talked that way. I asked her to go away and she told us to leave and never come back. Well that won't be a problem, believe me. Don't waste yiur money or your time on this place. Real Italian restaurants don't put friggin vegetables in shrimp scampi either. Evvita is a joke. read more
