Horrible customer service. Exam one made a mistake that caused me to be denied insurance coverage and they refuse to fix it.

Wait all day if you want listening to rap music on hold nope nobody ever gonna answer that line homie. So I'm in the technology industry so only last hope is online registration. I make an appointment for 9 am. We arrive early you have to register yourself in. No manner of log in information will find the registration. Oh you have no appointment. Really? Here is the printout that confirms that I do. Well it's not on my list on the clip board so you don't. Ok so it's like a train ride through india in the lobby. I am fairly adept at navigating online appointments and even better at talking to humans on the phone BUT found it nigh unto impossible to do so (3 days in advance, I might add). In desperation, I resorted to scheduling an appointment for myself (to reserve the time) and leaving a note that the appointment was really for my Duet neighbor. There were many attempts to reach a human by phone, to leave notes online, and to calm my increasingly anxious neighbor. WILL WOODER, supervisor, to the rescue!!! The lab ultimately gave me the Supervisor's number in an attempt to facilitate this appointment. He reassured me that she DID have an appointment, that he would try to be at the lab when we were to make sure all went according to plan, and, when we stepped through the door into the waiting room, WILL WOODER was at the reception desk, smile on his face, making everything all right! He even took the Duet neighbor's information and created an online account for her so I (or one of her daughters) could schedule future appointments with ease. Thanks Sonora Quest Laboratories for the service you perform and WILL WOODER for going several extra miles to help the nicest "little old lady" and her driver. You are our hero!!

Mom does not usually do well with procedures and doctor visits in the morning. 1st Choice is aware of this as we have had at least three discussions about it over the past year. Recently the scheduling process has become even less customer friendly. Following is an example of how they operate: Yesterday mid day I received an email stating Mom's blood draw was scheduled for noon today. Then at 4:25 yesterday afternoon I received another email and text stating the appointment had been moved to 9 am. I immediately called and the phone was answered by an unprofessional sounding young woman who took over 10 minutes to locate the appointment. She then informed me it was too late to change it. I told her the 9 am time would not work and why. She said she'd send a message to someone (not sure who). Subsequently I texted, called, left a voicemail message, and sent an email requesting contact. No response. Fast forward to this morning. At 7:39 I received a text stating the technician was on his way. 30 seconds later I received a text stating work was finished. I immediately called and left another voicemail asking that someone contact me about scheduling. No one has. So to recap: this company scheduled an early appointment for the next day. I called within 15 minutes but they refused to change it, even though the time scheduled was their mistake. Then they showed up unannounced almost 90 minutes earlier than that! Wow. I've given this company 2 stars only because so far they haven't screwed up the actual blood draw. But as far as scheduling is concerned they seem to care more about their own convenience than that of my Mom. They literally just show up whenever they want.

I have only positive things to say about him; he really spends his time with you and explains what's happening! However, I have continually had negative experiences with the office staff. Despite my great experience with Dr. Johns, I am heavily considering finding a new provider due to the difficulty in dealing with the administrative staff. When I was having difficulties with a new medication, I called the office staff to leave a message for Dr. Johns, and I never heard back. I did so again a couple days later...and again never heard back. I called a third time, and learned that the first two people hadn't even recorded the message - there was no record of it in my chart or anywhere else! Additionally, I am bombarded with advertisement emails, which you cannot unsubscribe from, because it would also unsubscribe you from appointment reminder emails. This feels like a very predatory practice for a doctor's office, especially one primarily aimed at an older audience. It feels incredibly money-grubby. Dr. Johns is incredibly helpful, but I cannot recommend the practice due to the administrative staff, who are sometimes unhelpful to the point of being actively counterproductive. All 3 of the stars I am giving are for him alone.

Her nurse assistant, Oscar, is equally outstanding, responsive, professional, and attentive. Although I live in East Mesa, I willingly make the long drive because this level of care and treatment is truly exceptional and well worth it.
