I took my truck to Excel Diesel & SUV to have a brake noise checked. They told me my brakes and rotors needed to be replaced and pointed out several other issues with my recently purchased used truck. When I asked questions about their findings, I was met with rude and dismissive responses, so I decided not to move forward with any repairs. A couple of days later, I noticed fluid leaking onto my driveway and took my truck to another mechanic for a second opinion. They confirmed my brakes and rotors were in mid/good condition, and the brake noise was simply due to the type of brake pads and dirt. They also found that the rear differential bolt had not been fully tightened, which was the cause of the leak. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Excel Diesel & SUV. I was disappointed with both the customer service and the inaccurate repair recommendations, especially after paying a fee just to have the brakes inspected. read more

Will deff not bring any vehicles back here. Brought in a 2005 Excursion for emissions testing, and was told it needed $1500 in repairs to pass emissions. The manager at the counter instructed the tech to manually fail the emissions due to a "missing EGR Cooler", which upon 2nd opinion, its not missing. The shop charged me $65 for an emissions test that passed everything, yet they manually failed, to try and get $1500 in unnecessary repair work out of me. I'd appreciate my $65 back, and would warn anyone to stay AWAY. Above is the Original Review I left on google. To which they responded, quoting images that were almost 2 years older than my most recent visit, and at the time they were taken, the shop said an EGR Valve was missing (That repair was done), and even called the owner of the vehicle to yell at him for my review. (He very politely put the "Manager" in check for his tone and misrepresentations) Very unprofessional shop, and it seems their only goal is to make money to dishonest way. They didn't even pop the hood at this visit for a "Visual Inspection" to know if it has an EGR Cooler or not. Excel Diesel owes me $65 for a test that should not have failed, due to their own greed. Since I recently moved back to Parker, I have shown up on some mailing lists as a "new resident". This has generated a few "welcome to the neighborhood" letters, and a couple of freebies. Excel Diesel and SUV was one of the freebies I received. They sent me a letter offering a free oil change ($38.99 value), and since I was due for an oil change, I decided to take full advantage. I was pleasantly surprised when I called that they were able to get me in the same day. This place is located on the Northwest corner of where Parker Road and E-470 intersect. To reach the store, one enters from Woodman Drive (by the Loaf and Jug) and works their way though the short street and parking lots. This is a little more difficult than it should be, since several automotive oriented business have opened up in recent years and they are lining the narrow street with cars on both sides. Getting through the parking lot was also somewhat challenging as most of the spaces were full, and several cars and trucks were double parked as well. Upon entering Excel Diesel I caught a big whiff of diesel (not surprising). This is not my favorite smell, and tends to give me a headache after a while (I doubt that I will ever own a diesel vehicle). The waiting area was rather spartan. However, the guys (mostly older) working here were very friendly, entertaining, and knowledgeable. They had my oil changed in under 45 minutes, and seem to have done an excellent job. I was glad to get a free oil change, and if the prices are reasonable down the road, I would definitely consider coming back here again. read more

I would describe my experience at Excel Diesel as exceptional! I travel frequently and have difficulty with my availability getting some things done. I had a free afternoon and had a significant problem with my truck suspension. I went to XL diesel having done a diesel emissions check there before. Upon arrival, I met Josh who served as my technician throughout my repairs. I did not have an appointment yet Josh figured out a way to get me in anyway knowing I was leaving town for a week. The repairs to my truck were extensive due to some damage to my suspension. Josh kept me apprised of the process from day one through completion. Additionally, Josh removed and stored my canoe from my roof rack. He expressed concern that it should not be left on top of the truck. I had not had time to remove it. When I returned with the work completed, Josh had placed the canoe back on my truck and secured it with straps. Those actions were reflective of a level of customer care and professionalism that I have not experienced in quite some time. Josh and the rest of the staff were outstanding to work with. Second time I have used Excel for a diesel emissions test. No issues if you call first to see how busy they may be and if they tell you they're not real busy right now, get yer butt over there. If they're busy, try again. If you walk in without calling first, and catch them at a busy time, you're going to be disappointed - but that's not their fault - it's yours. I would add that although I know my truck needs a few things, they didn't push anything on me because I was just getting an emissions test. BEWARE THESE GUYS DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DIESELS!!!!!! Being in the diesel repair you would think they would know about common issues with diesel trucks but i was wrong! Charged me 2500.00 for (4) new driver side injectors on my 03 chevy duramax. only to get 300 miles down the road headed back to Ohio only to find its doing the same exact thing! Getting 3-4 gallons of fuel in the oil. Long story short they told me to get screwed. Even after i had 100% proof that they half ass the job and the tech just didnt want to do the hard side (passenger side) After getting home and removing the motor. We found 2 bad injectors and the banjo bolt washers was finger tight on the passenger side. So now i need a 8000.00 motor because the job was not diagnosed correctly. See you in court! I have been taking my truck to them since they've opened with no issues untill I took my truck in a few months ago for a coolant leek. They told me to was leaking from the coolant reservoir hose so i had them fix it. Now i took it back in for another coolant leak and the told me " it is leaking from the same joint". And charging me for the repair. On top of it they wanted me to sign previous work order so they could sent it to ford to get paid for warranty repair. So i questioned if they are getting paid for warranty why am i being charged. Sounds to me like the shop is trying to get double paid. Shops like this give the industry a bad name. read more

So disappointed. Had been a customer here for years, but not anymore. Needed a simple emissions test done and tried to call and make an appointment. They told me they don't make appointments for emissions. So I try 4 DIFFERENT TIMES to get it done with them and get told that they can't do it. So here is an idea.... Don't offer walk in emissions testing if you can't/won't do it. Maybe allow appointments? Glad I was luck enough to not needed to take time off of work to get it done. read more

Yes!!!..The smell of a diesel is the most satisfying thing to a REAL man.. Unfortunately diesels come with a high price tag..I have a 07 F250 and I LOVE IT..It was rolling blue (fuel) instead of coal. I blew several injectors and my baby was sick. So I did some reviews and saw Excel had some good comments on their page. It turns out that they are some bad ass dudes.. They made my baby better (a lot better) than before.. I've used these guys for years.I won't say that everything they've ever done is perfect but I've had them do a lot of unusual and one-off jobs. I'm not typical. :) They've always been honest and fair and if I have an issue they've made it right and no haggling required. They are EXTREMELY busy and try to do the best by all their customers. I'd like it if they did more customization work but that's not really what they are in business for and they already have more business than they can handle. I really wish they would expand. Great people to work with. And, as far as the one report of watching them fire someone, I saw a mechanic take a drive shaft to the face and they dropped everything to drive him personally to the E.R. so I know they care very much about the people who work there. read more

shaun treated me right 2002 e 250 work van that blew a sparkplug while my business was down the mechanic went through the rest of the vehicle ball joints needed replacement . They recommended changing all the sparkplugs to this high end plug picked it up today man 160,000 miles and its never ran this good. thanks Excel great job. read more
