This place charged me over $2,100.00 for a 100,000 mile service on my truck. I am attaching a photo of their prices and what they did. As a female, I know I'll most likely get taken advantage of by unethical mechanics, and I sure did at this place. $275.00 for coolant?!? Not only did I overpay for most of the things that were not needed, my truck ended up leaking after bringing it here (see attached photos). And my truck NEVER leaked. Ever. I take very good care of my vehicles, and this truck happens to be my baby. So I am always up on preventative maintenance, and I will notice any ding or chip on the black paint, and I'm always checking the driveway for any spots. After noticing the massive leak in the driveway, I returned to their shop to have them fix it. 3 different times they could not find the problem. The leak got smaller, but then there were more of them. So now I have a stained driveway and a leaky truck. I realized Plummer's was just wasting my time, and they either didn't know how to fix it, or just didn't care. So I ended up taking it to an ASE Certified Master technician to go over their bill with him, to see if they actually did what they charged me for, and to let me know why my truck was leaking. He did check the hoses and brakes, looked OK, but did tell me they absolutely price gouged on labor charges. Not surprised. And apparently the leak was coming from the oil pan gasket, which I had to have fixed at another place for more $$$. All in all, my experience was not pleasant here. Can't say enough good things about Plummer. This place is the best to bring your car. My father brought his vehicles here back in the 90s and he trusted them. So here is my experience. Plummer's offers a "used car" checkup for a Less than $100. I had bought my granddaughter a 2003 Subaru in January and took it in so it could be checked out. It's well worth the price. Granted, there were several things needing attention (the car is 20 years old!), but they explained to me what should be addressed now and what could wait. A few days after we picked the car up, my granddaughter noticed the temperature gauge had moved to the red zone. Thankfully she was at work and her manager knew what to check. There was no coolant, so I bought coolant and we added it. I called Plummer's the next morning and told them what was going on and they said to bring it in. They figured out the issue (leaky hose), and they also had to address the thermostat since the car had overheated. They fixed everything and didn't charge me. Tim and Bert are the best! I'm not sure if words alone can put into perspective the level of service and kindness that I received from Bert and Plummer's Auto today. My A/C compressor was failing, and I brought my truck in to have them diagnose it. After the diagnosis, Bert called me and explained, fully, (I must reiterate "fully"), the situation, as well as the possible solutions. He was straight-forward and honest, and told me straight up, what his opinion on the matter was. I followed his advise and had my truck repaired. Upon picking up my truck, Bert again explained everything that he had done, and what I should expect. He even explained how this particular system works. Which, being the inquisitive person that I am, fulfilled a lot of unasked questions. The service and the customer service was, by and far, the best automotive service that I have received. Not to bely my own age, but it certainly reminded me of the days of old, when the auto mechanics were honest and reputable. Bert has earned my future automotive requirements! read more

My old truck failed it's emissions test, so I took it in to Plummer's Automotive because they are within walking distance of my house. Dropped it off early in the morning and got a call around 11AM. They told me just to take it out on the highway and drive it for awhile because it passed their testing, and had been sitting, undriven, for some time. They checked it out, gave me an easy option, and didn't charge me! I offered to pay for their time, but they refused. Thrilled to find an honest mechanic close to home. Excellent place. Bert is superb. I believe they are very honest and go the extra yard for the customer. Quick example - I thought maybe I needed new shocks, so I had them check them during a routine servicing. Come to pick up my Sequoia and they reported the shocks were just fine, no need for a change. I took my car in to Plummer's after noticing my engine was overheating, despite having had multiple repairs and scheduled maintenance checks at the Breaks Plus on Evans within the past 3 months. Plummer's is an unassuming shop, but I am so happy I found them! I believe the gentleman who helped me was named Bert and he was very friendly and assured me he would check everything out with my engine and coolant, and also said he would give a second opinion on the rear cylinder replacement Breaks Plus had told me was "urgently necessary." He found that the coolant cap wasn't fully tightened, which explained the overheating, and the rear cylinders still had 40% life on them - replacement is usually only necessary at 10%. It has been 4 weeks and my car has been running great so I am just so thankful to Plummer's and Bert for being so honest and not finding random things to "fix" just to make a profit. We will be using Plummer's for a very long time! read more

I took my car here because it was making a weird noise. These guys worked all day inspecting my car, and although they didn't locate the source of the noise, they were honest about that and didn't charge me a dime for the diagnostic. Burt even rode around the block with me so he could hear exactly what I was talking about! Lots of places would have found something to repair, even if it didn't take care of the noise... these guys didn't try to sell me anything. That is remarkable honesty! Once again, an incredibly honest shop. I brought in a civic that I had just bought to put on a new timing belt (older vehicle). A few hours later I get a call saying that all the belts are pretty old and they asked if I want to replace them. They have to take all of the belts off anyhow, so they can do it at the same time without charging me for any labor... i just need to buy the belts. No pressure, they were just giving me the option because it would naturally be added to their workflow. This was a huge favor. Replacing individual belts over the coming years would have been far more expensive. Update: Just took my truck in for what would have been a five hundred dollar repair. They retested what I thought was wrong and just swapped out a cable. Five hundred dollars down to fifty in no time flat. Thank you! read more

I have found them to either meet or exceed our expectations on every single occasion that they have done service work for us. It's hard to know who you can trust in the automotive repair category and it's comforting for us to absolutely trust these guys with our vehicles. Like most people here, I am delighted to have found Plummer's. I can't believe how incredibly honest and ethical these guys are. I have been swindled and cheated by almost every mechanic I have ever been to, so I expected a certain amount of that to happen to me when I first came to them. They do not cheat you, in fact they are so honest, I would never consider going anywhere else. I took my car there a couple of weeks ago, for the third or so time, expecting expensive repairs, and told them that I had problems with the transmission light, alignment, starter and window motor. They called me and told me that the problems were not nearly as bad as I suspected, and that the repairs were simple. They could have told me that I was right and charged me hundreds of dollars, but they gave me a very reasonable quote. When I came in, they then informed me that the price for repair was even lower than what they had quoted me on the phone. I am so grateful to these guys, and I recommend them to everyone. read more

I have been to several automotive shops in the denver/aurora area and Plummer's is by far the very best. The staff is patient and honest and extremely efficient. No matter when I call or who I talk to, I get great service and answers to all my questions, and when my car is there the service is top notch and quite fast as well as fair and affordable. A word of advice. Anyone needing automotive work stay as far away as possible from Plummer's Automotive Service. I was charged more than double what the repair should have cost and when I went to pick up the Jeep not only was the problem not fixed; it was in worse condition than when I bought it in. Ive been going to plummers for years, long time customer. Im sad to say that I will no longer be bringing my vehicles to Plummers due to a horrible interaction and overall experience with the company. I brought my car in several weeks ago because of some suspected engine rattling. Plummers charged me $50 to tell me that I needed to go to a "engine specialist". They referred me to their local friend in the area who owned a shop regarding that type of work. Once I arrived, I was told that this engine specialist does even work on engines, just replaces them outright. I eventually brought my car to a full service auto near my house and 2 weeks later, my car was fixed and runs like new. It turns out that there was no engine problems at all and it was simply a timing belt fray making the noise. I called Plummers to make them aware of the situation and the fact that they made several mistakes and I spoke to a Man named "Tim" who was apparently the owner/manager....which after our conversation....I highly doubt. After being hung up on intentionally, twice....Tim was very irate and would not admit any blame for their wrongdoings. He claimed that the diagnosis was correct, that the belt was a part of the engine.....however he is just lying because if it was a timing belt, they would have fixed it on the spot. Im very disappointed in the way this "owner" carried the conversation, constantly yelling and trying to put the blame on me instead. He refused to give me his last name and continued to hang up on me, I had to call 4 times. Plummers is supposed to be regarded as one of the better, more professional knowledgeable places around, also talked up really well on Car Talk.......its just not the case. I advise staying away from this place, if the owner/manager will lie to your face, there is no telling the legitimacy or honesty behind a auto repair quote here. He was very quick to defend himself instead of listening to the problem in whole. People like this should not be in charge of auto shops, its just insane how bad he made this whole experience.
