Fantastic. I have a very close friend that is a hairdresser and she's always been able to warn me away from the scary places that she didn't feel did a good job or kept up good standards. Not only did she recommend this place, she took me. Experience: We walked in (there were three of us), and were seated immediately. We were given the menu for different types of pedicures (yes, they have a menu that explains each one in detail and gives the price). We were also given a run down of the various manicures available. We were then offered drinks and snacks while our feet soaked. Since we were all three having both manis and pedis we each had two people working on us at all times. We never had to lift a finger. They even brought us swatches of color for nail polish options instead of having to scan all the bottles before sitting. The pedicure was heaven! I got the tropical one and they actually used fresh oranges to massage into my feet and legs along with oils and exfoliating scrub. All the while, the manicurist would work on one hand, while resting the other on a fluffy pillow that she placed in my lap. No reaching or trying to strain so she could reach! It was totally the little things that made the day. And did I mention the pedicure was incredible? I did pay a little extra for a full reflexology foot massage, but it was totally worth it! They massaged my feet and legs, arms and then the pedicurist got up and massaged my neck and shoulders. Don't get me wrong, I've had all of these things done at one time or another (except for the pillow in the lap for the mani...why don't others do this?), but never at one time by one salon. I've gone to salons with bad manicurists/pedicurists just because of the great customer service and pampering. I've also gone to really rough places with crap service just to get a good mani/pedi. With this place I don't have to sacrifice any longer. Reason for only four stars: Nobody's perfect so I can't give a perfect score, but these guys were as close as you can get. The only thing that wasn't great was you couldn't tip on your credit card. Tips in cash only. They do have an ATM, but it wasn't working so I had to go back with cash to leave a tip. Also, the manicurist working on one of my friends messed up a bit on one fingernail. She just got ahead of herself, no big deal. My friend simply pointed out the flaw and she didn't just fix the flaw, she started the whole nail over again so it would all look good.with the same number of polish coats. If you notice something's not right, just be sure and mention it. They were more than happy to make it right. read more

I came in with some friends while waiting for our flight. I waited 40 minutes to be started (though i was told it would be right away). At the end, they charged me full price when my nails looked terrible and I had to wait 40 minutes because she had to go get her daughter. Well then tell me that before I wait and they knew we had a flight to catch! I am just beyond furious that I spent $83 on something that I need to go get redone tomorrow. A terrible experience and they should've offered something because I know I will never go back there and wouldn't recommend it. Being constant visitors to Dallas, we have tried several nail and reflexology businesses in the metroplex but failed to find one that left us wowed, until now. I visited for the first time 10 days ago. Had great service and really enjoyed my visit but the gel polish didn't set properly. I think it needed more time under the lamp. I work A LOT of hours and I called to express my concern. The manager said to come in and they would fix it. I planned to do so yesterday but got called into a meeting. I did stop by and chatted with the manager. She agreed it didn't fully set and I told her I would come back today. She said they would be glad to fix it. Came in today and chatted with three different people who seemed to think I was conning them for a free manicure. The only thing different? My dress. Yesterday I was in a dress and heels, fully made up and having a good hair day. Today I was off from work so was wearing t-shirt, Nikes and yoga pants; hair in a ponytail and bare minimum makeup. Ladies, I can afford to pay for another manicure, however my time is precious. I am also old enough and financially secure enough that I pay for customer service...not to be judged on my appearance. If you like the typical Southlake caste system, by all means, patronize this shop. Just be sure to dress to impress your manicurist. read more

I actually came in for a wax, because I just couldn't stand my Yeti-legs any longer. Walking through the nail salon area, you get a sense that Excellent Nails & Spa is like any manicure/pedicure shop around, complete with massage chairs and vats of bubbling water while an army of technicians cleaned, filed, painted away at patrons When I walked into the back room, I was rather surprised that the place seemed so clean and organized. Until my technician lost one of her rolling tables to another tech. So my poor girl had to run from one end of the table to deliver thin sticks of wax to get my legs done. Two things that really irked me about this whole experience: paper and thin wax sticks. My gal confessed they were out of the big flat applicators...which meant a spider's web of wax trails criss-crossing the room. I ended up getting it on my arms, on my hair and on my clothes. And my shoes! It was all over the floor, despite my tech's efforts to keep things contained. Paper and wax also don't really go well together either; neither does water and paper. In her eagerness to clean up the mess, I ended up sitting up on soggy paper near the end of the visit because she used a damp cloth to wipe things down. My tech however was eager to please and tried to be as comforting as possible throughout the duration of my service. Unfortunately her lack of tools made the visit unenjoyable. I have gone to Excellent nails for over 5 years now. I get the shellac on my nails and it stays for over 2 weeks. They are very clean, friendly, understand English. They are also very good at doing designs..since Pinterest is so creative with nail art these days! You will love this salon. It's a very clean salon with a full service menu (I love the Milk and Honey Pedicure), and excellent staff! one extra thing is--allow extra time to enjoy their services..because they're very good, they take they're time (unless you tell them you're in a hurry--you'll still love your color and it will be done excellently..just quickly). Just want to start off with a warning: DO NOT GO HERE. Their staff lied straight to my face about payment and completely ripped me off. When I wanted to leave a tip, they said their receipts don't include a tip line and it can only be cash. Don't you think you should've told me that before you charged my card? I then suggested she simply charge my card again for a tip amount since I didn't have cash to which my manicurist made a displeased face and asked me to use the ATM. I informed her that I didn't want to use their ATM because of the fees that get charged and instead of giving a $5 tip, it would end up costing me $7.50. She then said that their ATM doesn't have any sort of fees and there was even a sign that stated there is no fee. It was a lie. I go to check my bank account this week and lo and behold, there's a $2.50 fee charged from excellent nails. I just can't believe someone would run their business in such a conniving, deceitful way. I can appreciate the fact that they would prefer cash tips because they don't have to claim cash on tax reports, but at least be up front with your customers if you know it's going to be an issue which i am SURE it often is. In addition to that, my manicure was terrible: I haven't had such a lousy customer service at a nail salon, ever. After making me wait for 30 minutes and letting 2 ladies go ahead of me who arrived after me and did not have appointments, my expensive gel manicure came out pretty horrendous. Uneven, crooked, and bubbles in the gel. They were severely overbooked and my manicurist got up several times to tend to other clients, and when she came back she rushed through my manicure which is probably why it turned out so poorly. I would never come back or even fathom giving them my business again. I normally go to Hollywood Nails in Southlake which is MUCH better priced, has a bigger, more professional staff and is just all around a way better experience. Never straying again. read more

The salon is always clean. The staff is professional and accommodating. I am very picky, and they have kept me coming back for three years. The owner also gives back to the Southlake community which is huge for me. They have donated to Dragon athletics, Relay for Life, and give special rates for students so now my son and his friends go. I went here last week for a girls day out. This salon is amazing and my girlfriends and I had a great time here. The salon is beautiful inside. It's very clean and organized there. Better than some of the other nail salons I've been to. I've never seen a nail salon that has a chandelier! We were seated immediately and we're offered snacks and drinks during the mani/pedi. Since I was getting both a mani and a pedi I had two techs working on me. The nail techs I got was really sweet and attentive to me. They have a wide range of glitter, art, gel, aryclic, and varies styles to choose from. They also often different types of pedicure! I got exactly what I wanted which was a French gel mani and the paradise topical pedi. The paradise pedi was amazing, the lotions they used smells so good. They massaged my arms and legs and even massaged my neck area. Overall this place was very relaxing and everyone was so kind to us. All my girlfriends had an excellent time here, we will definitely have more girls day out here. read more

I just love the folks at this nail salon. I started going to the salon when they opened -- about 8 years ago or so. Since then, they've always been extremely attentive and polite. My husband occasionally goes with me for a pedi and really enjoys them, too. The salon is very clean, and they order a full menu of nail services. They were WAY too rough with my manicure, so much so that I was bleeding a little on three nails. The color of my polish was VERY different than the sample in the color book, and it came out basically clear (I could still see my nail underneath, even after 3 coats.) No, no and no. My friend and I came here when the place we usually visit, (Elite Nails in Grapevine...AWESOME), did not have time to squeeze us in after work. First of all, this place said they had time for us...they did not, so we spent about 20 minutes waiting. One of the ladies started on my nails but was CLEARLY rushed and got up every 5 or 20 minutes to help other customers (overbooked). My nails are SO crooked, there are bubbles in the polish, and when i asked them to fix them they ignored the fact that they are crooked and painted over the bubble. Shoddy work. THEN, the woman LIED to my friend regarding their ability to take tips in cards. She previously ran my card, asked if I wanted to include a tip, and added it to the card. Then proceeded to tell my friend that they ONLY take cash tips. When I challenged her on it she denied and made up some story, clearly caught off guard and caught in the act. DISHONEST. DISRESPECTFUL. AND LAZY WORK. My friend and i will NOT be returning and will inform all of our friends that work in the area to NOT go to "Excellent" Nails. More like, "Inferior" Nails. read more

I came across this place by mistake and I'm glad I did. Their price for shellac was reasonable ($30) and they didn't charge me extra to remove my existing polish like some places. One woman got me set up and had my nails soaking right away while my actual technician finished someone up. She was very nice and made sure I was happy throughout the whole thing. She really took her time to make sure my polish looked perfect AND IT DID. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because nobody offered me a drink. Since it was my first time there I had to awkwardly ask if they give out drinks and she said yes and brought me a glass of white wine. Warning- if you don't like super sweet wine don't get the white. I like sweet and it was even too sweet for me. read more

They dont clean the tubs! I watched 4 different people leave and they just rinsed the tubs out with water and then filled them back up for the next person. They charged me $5 extra to use a pumice stone and did not apply a top coat to my polish. When I questioned them at the register she said that was extra! THIS PLACE IS AWFUL. A few weeks ago I went in for a pedicure. The people were very hard to communicate with. They messed up on my big toe with many streaks and a thumb print in the polish. When I asked to have it fixed they offered me a design to cover their mistake. They charged me $5 for this design. Due to the 20% off student discount advertised online on their Facebook page and also on their door, I decided I would give them another shot. When I went in the lady was rude. She told me numerous times that I needed to get my eyebrows done because they looked bad. She kept trying to convince me to let her fix them. After politely declining, she proceeded to ask me where I had gotten them done previously and informed me I should never go there again. I had to have her refile my nails three separate times because they were completely slanted. During the massage I asked her to please stop due to a massive bruise on my arm. She refused because "my muscles are too tight" and I was "being ridiculous". Even though there was obvious agony on my face she refused to stop. At the end when I was getting ready to pay, the total came to $30. With the student discount that was advertised multiple places the total should have come out to $24. She refused to give it to me and told me that I did not meet the requirements. I am 16 and had my ID. I would never waste money on this place again. This place was lousy. I came with two other people, while our toes were soaking two other women came in and were attended to right away. Mind you, I did call ahead. So it wasn't like they had an appointment and we didn't. My friends tub wouldn't stay filled, she kept calling someone over and they were very snotty about it. We both got the same pedicure and hers was started at least 10 minutes after me and she was done first. I have a burn on the top of my big toe from god knows what. The eyebrow "wax" I received after was epic. I use the term wax lightly because the crazy woman plucked me more than waxed. And did a terrible job at that. All I had was a red forehead. And the best part was she smudged my toes and when I mentioned it she ignored me. Oh yeah and it took over 20 minutes to get someone to take our payment. We should have just walked out. They don't take tips on credit cards. Probably because they know no one will give them one for the shitty job they do. read more

I didn't like how pushy they were to try and get me to get a manicure and a design on my toes. I can't even remember how many times I had to say no. My pedicure was good aside from my right heel being raw from the lady scrubbing in the same spot for too long. I also felt like I was rushed because I got the basic pedicure.
