Being a nomad, I have experienced many things on a global scale. The customer service here is impeccable, in every department. Very friendly, down to earth, and the communication skills are phenomenal. Even though I did not purchase a vehicle or service here, they were extremely accommodating and elegantly explained easily what I may need based upon what I have said and have shown them with pictures and printouts. Yes, I could have easily gotten bolts or any other part online, perhaps at a better price... but what people seem to easily forget it what you're indeed paying for. A live helpful individual with no malarkey. Licensed and well-trained individuals. Every person went above and beyond without even knowing it. Mark (Volkswagen mechanic) greeted me, when I pulled up on my motorcycle. I asked him for a moment of his time concerning what bolts I found on my car and what parts where currently missing. Now, Mark was tasked to grab a vehicle to pull in and service, he could have easily referred me to someone else, told me that he wouldn't be able to accurately help me without a proper diagnosis, etc... or said nothing at all. Instead, he explained to me with confidence and care as to what I may need and to whom to speak to, reassuring me that it's common and the team would help me out. I asked who I could speak to about how awesome he was and he humbly declined--no recognition needed. Indeed it does good sir! Bill! A salesman with a presence of helpfulness and joy is indisputably noticeable--you can tell he loves his job! The young woman in the back that apologized for my late arrival to the parts department--no apology needed, that's on me, haha but still most places would never do that. She also referred me to other places I may go and I promised I would return. And especially the parts manager, Anthony! He entertained every question and concern with no hesitation. Don't let his youth misconstrue you. If I needed an equipment or shop manager in a military environment, I genuinely wholeheartedly believe he would excel and exceed expectations--not something I have come across throughout my military career or after. You can tell when someone is extremely sharp, caring, and is capable of much more than what can be written on paper! read more

They have fraudulent practices I have a 2022 VW moved to CT went to the dealership with their advertised oil change and a tire rotation. They refused to do the rotation because they said I needed new tires which was not true. When I would not buy new tires they would not rotate the tires I said then I need to pay less since I was paying for an oil change and a tire rotation. After arguing they too $3 off the price. My wife and I have been looking for a good retirement car, and have test driven a bunch of high end models. When she called "Chris" at VW in North Haven, and asked if we could test drive the new Tiguan turbo model, he basically said they do not like giving test drives because it is such a rare model and it puts miles on the cars. This comes after BMW and Audi both messaged us to come back for second drives. Guess BMW and Audi care about their customers. Who would buy a brand new model without test driving it? I am speechless. TOTALLY LOST SALE. The blowhards at Executive VW can enjoy losing money, and heaven forbid the news gets out about all the trouble they have had with the Tiguan turbo control system. read more

Screwed me trying to overcharge me for paying for a service twice, my first visit, my second time I had an appointment for tires, which I drove over an hour for, just for them to give my tires to someone else. On Saturday, I called Isabella to verify that the 2024 Tiguan SEL we were interested in was still available so we could take it for a test drive and it was. I told her we were on our way, about 20 minutes later we arrived. We asked for Isabella and were told that she only deals in internet sales so she asked Jeremy to help us with a test drive. Jeremy is a nice, polite and knowledgeable young salesman that's not pushy & arrogant like most salesmen/women are. After our test drive we went to Jeremy's office to due the paperwork. Jeremy leaves his office to get the paperwork for the car, when he returns (a moment later) he tells us that Isabella just sold the car we were on a test drive on! WTF!!! Isabella knew we were on a test drive and sold the car anyway... WTF!!! I guess that the word INTEGRITY has NO meaning to Executive Volkswagen... Well one thing's for sure we won't be buying a car from Executive Volkswagen. Now we understand why our son warned us about this VW Dealership... read more

Dropped my car off Sunday night for a Monday at 7:30 am appointment. Get quoted $2,000 to fix a bunch of problems that were magically missed the last time I was there even though that was in March. Tyler told me that they had to order "some" of the parts. That they were expected Tuesday and the work would be done on Wednesday. I texted by rep, Collin Bourque, at 1:46pm asking if there was an update. Received no response. I called at 2:12pm and Collin told me that my car wasn't done because "last night there was no security guard so we didn't get our parts delivery." I then asked what that meant for my car. He said he couldn't tell me. He then said I had to speak to Tyler. He then hung up on me instead of putting me on hold. I called back and was told Tyler was at lunch and would be back in "probably 10 minutes." An hour and a half later I call back and I'm told the part for my car won't be in until Friday. If I had been told on Monday, that the part wouldn't be in until Friday, I would have told them I can't do that without a loaner. They still haven't been able to tell me if the car will be ready on Friday. I'm not even convinced they ordered the part. The biggest issue here is that I would not know that my car was going to take two - three more days than expected if I had not called. If I could put no stars I would. I bought a brand new car from them in December. Ending up having to bring my car in a month later for some weird stuff going on with my sensors and they wrote me off. Everyone in the service department said I didn't understand the new technology in cars. Alluding to me not knowing a thing, me being wrong and all but pushing me out the door. Fast forward a month or two later, I get a letter in the mail recalling the exact reason I went in for. More recently I went in for engine problems and once again the service department was not a pleasant experience. I was first met with "I should have brought it in sooner". Waited all but a week to get a loaner car. I finally get a dirty one out of spite. I called a week after my car was taken in because no one has been communicating with me. Marleen on the phone was not professional, once again. All but yelling at me, giving me no answers. This service location is not welcoming, helpful or a pleasant place to work with. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. I bought a car here early 2024 and the salesman was great. Service however sucks! Scott is just horrible to deal with they don't listen to actual concerns. Last time I was there they didn't even bother to actually take my car into the bay. Told me no need for us to look at it. Cars fine. Took it to another dealer in Meriden it's Harte VW and they're great btw! Soon as I said my issue the gentleman says that's not normal and it went from there... If I could give zero stars, I would. My visit to this VW dealership felt like I'd stepped into a bizarre, low-budget horror movie. Aren't car dealerships supposed to TRY to sell you a car? They did quite the opposite. Eleanor, our 'saleswoman,' looked like she had just crawled out of a dusty attic, coughing up a lung during our test drive and covered in dandruff. She provided absolutely zero information on any of the vehicles we were interested in. Didn't know the difference between two models. Couldn't find the keys for another. I almost encourage you to go to this place, just to see how insane this is for yourself, never in my LIFE have I experienced such poor customer service. Holly, her coworker, was no better - providing customer service that made me want to scream. She abruptly hung up on us, as if they were trying to set a new record for terrible service. I recently purchased a used car from this dealership, and was lied to by the sales team. Twice. Highly recommend that if you buy a car here, that you do extensive research into every claim they make - about VIN etching, conveyance fees, the month long backup on actual conveyance of title, tags, registration, etc, and which items you are allowed by law to negotiate. I showed up here at 4:40pm (they close at 5) on a dead Saturday to quickly test drive a Tiguan. I walked in and when I asked if I could drive one, a man replied "We close in 10 minutes." I was completely taken aback. 1. You close at 5, not 4:50. 2. A test drive could've taken a maximum of 5 minutes. 3. Do your job. Thinking it would convince him that it would be a super quick encounter, I told him I wouldn't be making a purchase right then (thought this would be obvious). That was the wrong move. He said "Oh so you just wanted a 'courtesy test drive'?". That made me think it may not have been the fact that this guy wanted to mail in the last 20 minutes of his shift, he just didn't want to do his job at all. Nobody likes working on Saturdays but this guy came off as lazy and rude. I'll never go back here again. read more

Customer BEWARE! Recently had a problem w/2012 VW Beetle~towed to Executive~they gave a "laundry list" of issues to the tune of $2700!!! Decided to tow to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the problem(s) and not only fixed the issue, but charged me less than 1/3 of they're original estimate of $2700 AND the issues my Beetle had were diagnosed as completely different than what Executive had stated! Volkswagen posted a response message saying they wanted to make amends. I left several messages for the person who reached out. They never returned any of my calls. They never made amends for what was more than just a bad experience. They are simply crooks in the service department. Warning for those who bring their cars in from CarMax they will overcharge you because their agreed rate with CarMax is less than what they feel is owed to them. They simply will steal from you. First time here I called about an airbag replacement I have to admit everything went just like it was suppose to, 9 o'clock appointment, I was told that it would take about about a little more than an hour and if I wanted to have my car washed even though I did not purchase my care their. Went in to finance a vehicle and went for a test drive on vehicle i was interested in. There was a slight problem with balance on passenger side tire. Salesman Billy told me it just got tires and balance by a trainee and went back for service. Gary the finance manager took my application came back and told me a high apr rate which i was not happy about so i left and didnt choose to finance. Found out a day later from my bank wrong car and extra things were put in that i didnt approve and i called and Gary adjusted and came down to the apr i expected it to be because my bank gave an average it would be before i got there. Now heres the part that is really shady about this dealership. So after Gary adjusted and i told them i will be coming back to purchase Gary told me they will hold the vehicle. Billy the salesman calls me an hour later and tells me he can not sell me the car due to safety issues it will be sold to and auctioned. So i was upset because i purchased insurance and was ready to go after work to finalize purchase. I was curious and i called 3 hours later and asked about the car and happily they replied yes it has been sold and left the lot. So i spoke to a manager changes the story when he finds out its me and tries to tell me the purchaser was a unknown auction place which he says he did not receive a check yet that when he does he can confirm final sale. This place just to make an extra dollar which i didnt want their warranty and extra accessories on my purchase kicks me to the curb and comes up with lies and does some fraud type of crap. To sell it to the next buyer who falls for thier lies thanks but no thanks i will never return there again. Please be careful guys and look over what you are buying. read more

The entire experience of leasing our new car at the dealership was pleasant from beginning to end. Our salesman Will took his time to explain all of the differences in features between the SE & SEL models and then took us out to test drive and demonstrate the functions. Went here to get a Jetta for my son who is graduating from citando needs it for work. They had the model he liked on the lot. So far so good. We asked them to hold it for two weeks with a deposit as he had to go back to school in Baltimore and it is final exam time. No dice. So we get him back up via the bus, get him to apply for VW financing online, let them know we are coming, etc. I was going to put a few grand on my cc to help him out, which I had told Scott Brouard the Asst. GM. I emailed him at noon the day before to check if that was OK. No dice. So I run out to the bank and get a cashiers check. At 4:39 pm Scott wakes up and sends an email of what else we need to bring. Of course by then I'm finishing up the day at the office and my son is on the bus, so we don't see it till the next day, but we get it together and we are off to the dealership. We get with finance guy and he won't honor the 1.9% finance rate Scott quoted, so no dice., 2.9%. Survived that and get the salesman David Knapp to show him the car features , pair the phone, etc. That done we go to have a celebratory slice of pizza up the road a ways. Well, the AC in the Jetta doesn't work. We hightail it back to the dealership and ask Scott why they didn't check the car out. He says "it was cold out so you can't tell if the AC was working " which simply isn't true. Then Tyler the Service Manager came out to tell us the compressor and the condenser were bad and the part would come in a few days time. So we asked if my son could get a loaner as he had to go directly back to Baltimore. Scott basically said no dice. I asked Tyler if he had an error code from the onboard computer, and he said no, so I asked him to get that and then see what it was. Well, it turns out that the car had never been completely reprogrammed from 'transport mode' which disables a lot of functions, including the AC. They finished that reprogramming and then the car was fine. So it took 6 hours to buy a car from this pretty incompetent bunch. It was like it was the first time they were doing this. read more

Absolutely disturbed by this dealership and Volkswagen in general. I own a 2011 VW CC I've had it for years and approximately 70k miles. My timing chain tensioner became damaged and needed a new one. There was a class action lawsuits against VW for this part because it was a manufacturing defect thus can cause your engine to seize and bring extensive damage. I brought my car there, I drove it there and told them I was getting a Cam Shaft sensor error on the reader which is indicative of a failing timing chain. When I got the car back, it seized on me instantly. I returned it again as they asked me to bring it to check if it was the timing chain so I had it towed there. Only for them to tell me it was the timing chain which I told them before my engine was damaged. They returned the vehicle to me with parts everywhere. My engine was open, my gasket was taken apart with screw everywhere. They didn't even have the decency to put it back together from diagnosing it. Volkswagen refused to honor their warranty on the timing chain because I did not have record of oil changes. I do my own oil changes and have done them regularly, this became their loophole to not wanting to fix my car for Their defect! I was disgusted I spent $20k+ on buying this car and loved it. Only for them to not honor their own defect! Folks I've driven VW for a while but I refuse to purchase another vehicle from this dealer and company again! They designed a defective part which damaged my engine and refuse to accept responsibility for it! It disgusts me! Do not buy another VW. The car is a nice drive, but their customer service, their parts, nor their dealerships can be trusted! Thousands of VW and Audi's experiences this issue but they can't own up to it because I chose to do my own oil changes which has zero bearing on the timing chain being loose and damaging my motor. Never again will I own a VW and I do not recommend this dealer or VW in general to anyone. I work as a public servant and strive to bring fairness and decency to society, this is an absolute atrocity of an experience. Now my wife who is a teacher is taking two buses to get to work in another town because we still owe on this car for the finance. Disgusting. read more

This place is unbelievably bad! The roof on my EOS stopped working- in for repairs three days. They put new motor in and then blew other working parts! The solution take the parts out leave motor charge $1500. Tell me don't "beat us up too bad on Yelp!" So callous was my "service advisor" ... " our expert left we have no one that can fix it!!! After many calls/emails that have gone unreturned (shockingly) I take to Yelp! Don't ever use this dealership for any reason! No stars!! Just dirty dealings read more

I shopped at Executive when it was montessi about 15 years ago and was given honest service by the sales people so I could get the absolute match to the car I was shopping for and never forgot. I was at the end of a lease that I really didn't care for (a nissan from another dealer) so I made the trip to executive VW on a whim. Mark Gentile got me my car in about 3 days. Rob went over the lease with me in detail so I knew exactly everything I was signing. My only regret is that I didn't do this 5 years ago. The VW #Tiguan is so much more solid than my last 2 crossovers. I can't get over the difference. If you are short this is the car for you! Thank you Mark and the entire team at executive VW! Just leased my first VW. My salesperson, Chris, was patient and knowledgeable. He was eager to answer my questions without making me feel pressured. The business manager, Garrett, was also very easy to work with. My overall impression of the operation is that it's not super warm and fuzzy place. If you need coddling or persuading, it may not be the dealership for you. Nobody was going out of their way to make me feel at home. But I love my car and I really liked the individuals I worked with. read more

My African American brother in law went into their showroom last weekend, looking for Mark- the salesman my family has purchased a total of 6 cars from. The short brunette who sits in the corner of the sales floor was HORRIBLE to him. When I entered several moments behind him, she chirped up and I witnessed her demeanor with him. It was so disgusting we traded 3 VWs in and all went and leased different vehicles. I have no tolerance for racism and I miss Montesi. Since 2009 I have had my car serviced at Montesi. NEVER. Ever. This dealerships service department experience was by far the worst service experience I have ever had. After spending several thousands of dollars for the same issues during this past year, flip flopping of diagnoses, repeated breakdowns and services my VW Tiguan has been sitting in my driveway undrivable for 2 months now. In early October I took it to another local dealership for a check up and they refused to service it after they presented me with a 6000. Estimate and listed the very things in need of repair that I paid for at executive VW just 2 months prior. The details are too numerous to include here, in August after being stuck on the side of the road 2 days after I paid again for repairs I called the service department shared my story in distress with disbelief that I was once again in this situation -I was hung up on when I asked if I could drive my car back to them, the woman could not answer the question or get someone who might be able to help - her response was" are you calling me stupid?" Then hung up. Crazy but I felt they should make the car right -so it went back to Executive VW once again-they did another diagnosis this time over 3000. Dollars but they were going to split it me, I agreed. A few days of driving-check engine light came on, once again called Executive service and I was told I had an electrical issue and that was why the light came on and it was ok to drive, for two weeks is randomly showed on my dash. Next was a rattle under the car that prompted me to take in to another dealership and that was when I was presented the 6000. Estimate and they told me to take the car back to executive Vw and I should deal with them. The car was towed back to my home where it sits today, in undrivable condition. Interesting addition -after taking this time to consider what was best to do about buying a new car ,I looked at Land Rover dealership in No Haven, turned out to also be owned by Executive group, this attempt to purchase a car was met by lots of promises and apologies for no follow up and numerous miscommunications. I spoke with the manager he apologized too and assured me he would follow up on Monday morning with 3 simple questions answered, no email in the a m as promised on Monday. I was done!! I could not -in good conscience knowingly deal with this group once again after the VW issue still unresolved and now very similar issues presenting themselves again. Exceptionally poor training that appeared to be not only in the VW location but now at the Land Rover location as well. Good ending to this saga, I did make a purchase of the Land Rover Discovery at the Hartford dealership, questions answered - car purchased! It was a more than pleasant experience, responsive sales staff, professional service as promised . Awesome car experience!! Bravo to all who help me to get my beautiful car!! I will be giving my VW to someone who can make the repairs and get some additional life out it. What a terrible story to have to repeat in a public forum but I believe it should be heard by anyone considering a car purchase from the Executive Auto group!! read more

I brought my Volkswagen Passat to the dealership because the ECM (the on-board computer) indicator light was on. The car was drivable, and I drove it to work every day. The dealership performed some minor tests and told me that the ECM was broken and the only way to fix it was to replace it with a new one for $859. The dealer clearly stated that the charge would cover all the necessary expenses. They charged me $940 (there were some additional charges). A couple of weeks later, my service advisor called me and informed me that they installed the new ECM and found out that I had to pay an additional $4,400 (!) for further repairs. My service advisor emailed me a long list of the parts that had to be replaced. They told me they did not know about all the additional problems until they installed the new ECM. They advised me not to drive the car because "the new ECM did not synchronize well with my the car" and more repairs had to be done for $4,400. The car shook violently when I tried to drive it. I could no longer drive the car. I spoke to the manager and he agreed to reduce the cost of repairs to $3,000.I did not agree to pay for further repairs. The Kelly Blue Book value of the car was $5,500. I traded in the car and bought a new one. I did not get much for it. I filed a lawsuit against the dealership at the Small Claims Court in New Haven to recover the cost of repairs ($940). No one from Volkswagen showed up for the trial. VW filed for continuance. I showed all the receipts to the judge and told her what happened. She denied the continuance and ruled in my favor for the full amount. I lost more money than I was able to recover because the car was no longer drivable and I had to trade it in for a small amount. I did not expect such a poor service from a Volkswagen dealership. read more

I was extremely disappointed to find out AFTER my oil change that with the new owners of this dealership stopped utilizing Castrol and are now buying an extremely cheap private label product. These are German engineered cars and there is a very good reason why VW has chosen Castrol as their engineering partner. My assumption is that they are now using after market parts as well. I purchased a Passat for my daughter and traded in our old vehicle. William the sales man took our old license plates off and put them in his draw telling us he would bring them back to motor vehicle and showed me other plates in his draw. A few months later I am getting and still getting bills from the New York Transit that my plates are going through the New York tolls and I am getting billed. The photos are of my old plates but on different cars. Executive keeps telling me they are taking care of the problem but I am still getting the bill. I am disgusted with the General Manager as I have asked for compensation for free oil changes. He refuses!! This is his fault as someone took my old plates and as far as I am concerned this is fraud. read more
