I'm so glad I found Suad and Exel Autoglass! I cannot emphasize enough how glad I am to give Suad my business. Suad provides amazing workmanship in addition to the most professional customer service I have experienced in the auto services industry. I found his company, Exel Autoglass on Yelp, where there are a ton of other auto glass repair shops. However there was something that immediately jumped out at me regarding Exel's reviews and the photos posted by happy customers: the reviews are all extremely intelligently written and many of the cars he repairs are high-end, which hinted to me about the quality of the workmanship due to the high standards of his customers. Suad is originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but he trained in Germany where he owned a similar auto glass repair business, and you can tell that he takes extreme pride of ownership in his work and the business. He wears a uniform that matches his bright red Mercedes work van, and the inside is organized and spotless. Everything has its place, and I believe a lot of why he is super efficient is because he is so organized and meticulous in putting things where they belong and keeping a tidy workspace. My car was broken into in SF and not in drivable condition due to the entire rear passenger window and quarter window being shattered. I originally called AAA auto glass insurance, and was referred to Safelite. However, the earliest available appointment they could get me was in 4 full day's time! That wasn't acceptable to me because I wouldn't be able to safely drive my car and securely park it in public places with an entire missing window. I called around to multiple locations, including Suad before 8am. I was pleasantly surprised that he not only answered the call himself, but he also took the time to hear me out regarding the repairs I needed done (thereby assessing the urgency of the situation) and also explained to me that he WAS willing to work with AAA auto glass insurance, patiently explaining the information I would need to provide him in order for him to begin ordering the parts. He had me send a photo of the damage as well as the description of the car, and he was able to go from there. Suad was extremely responsive and communicative via text message. And I say this in comparison to many other shops that I tried to request quotes and time estimates from via Yelp. I appreciated that he knew what questions to ask in order to minimize the time delay and unnecessary back and forth. All of the ordering of parts and insurance takes time, but Suad is the consummate professional in providing ETA and just enough communication to make you feel like you are being heard. Even though I only just called at 8am this morning, Suad was able to assess the damage, communicate with my insurance company, and order and pick up parts for me and then provide an ETA for repair for the early afternoon. He communicated via text when it made sense, and also called me when we needed to have more real-time back and forth communication. When he was running a few minutes late from the time window previously provided, he texted to let me know. I really appreciated all of this given it had been a stressful 12 hours of filing police reports and claims with insurance companies and getting a lot of runaround and going through phone trees. He arrived at my home at the time he said he would, and it took a little over an hour and a half for him to remove the broken glass frames, vacuum up the glass shards from the entirety of my car (it was EVERYWHERE) and replace the broken quarter and passenger windows with OEM parts that he had just ordered and picked up that day. He did tell me that he had to rearrange his schedule for windshield repairs a bit, but he understood the urgency of my repair job because my car was undriveable in its current condition. I really appreciated that. Throughout the process, he was extremely communicative and polite and friendly. When the repair took a little longer than expected, I hung around in my garage with him and got to know him and his history better, both in life as a Bosnian immigrant to Germany and then the US, as well his education and work experiences in the automotive repair industry. Suad is a man who loves what he does and takes great pride in providing excellent service. Suaed made what was started out as really bad experience into a perfect one. My SUV had a massive crack through its windshield. I brought it in and he was able to find a well price but good quality windshield from the same factory that produces for BMW's. Unfortunately after 5 hours he called me and send the sensors were not working when rebooting. Naturally I was not happy, it had worked perfectly when I brought it in. We discussed and he suggested we order an original Audi windshield directly from Audi - that way if that doesn't work then it was clearly the sensors. Thankfully this did work and the car was perfect. This review is long overdue Suad replaced the windshield on my M3 and my wife's Wrangler. If you care about your car or have a high performance /high end/ exotic vehicle and want to replace the windshield you should call Suad immediately. Here is why: Suad was trained in Germany and he is familiar with high performance European vehicles. High performance vehicles are assembled partially by hand while exotics are fully handmade. When vehicles are assembled the windshield is not perfectly centered. There is often a few millimeters offset. Of course this isn't noticeable by inspection. These vehicles all have a break-in periods for the mechanical parts to "settle" and get properly lubricated. During this time the various rubber gaskets, aluminum parts and adhesives around the windshield settle firmly into the frame. If the windshield is simply replaced and centered there will be various sublet rattling noises in the cabin because the frame has already settled with the old windshield in place. This can also build up of stress in the windshield over time and cause it to crack easier. To solve this problem, Suad carefully measures and marks the position of the factory installed windshield on each corner, and if you notice it is not perfectly centered. Then he places the new windshield precisely in place of the old one. There is no stress build up and no noise as a result. Only a highly trained technician would know about this intricate detail so you aren't dealing with an average Joe here. Suad also handles most of insurance work, no stupid faxing and sending papers back and forth, he gets the work order shows up on time, finishes in less than an hour and you just pay for the deductible. This place accepts State Farm insurance even though it's not listed in the State Farm online options (they only list 3 places). We had a crack in our windshield and rock chips on another and Suad replaced them both with high quality glass, same brand as from the dealers of the cars. Other places like the big names use lower quality glass for more profit. If you just get the rock chips filled, the windshield is still compromised so it's safer to get the entire windshield replaced. He calibrates the windshield (necessary) and has the paperwork to show for it. Suad is nice, honest, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He is calm, careful, and takes time to explain things. Really great experience! I got a big, obvious star shaped rock chip and wasn't sure whether I was supposed to repair or replace, as I didn't ever want to see it. My Tesla model 3 was broken into while I was having dinner and the quarter window was broken. Sadly I found out after it was broken that this type of break-in is common in the bay area.
