I had eaten there with my daughter, about ten years ago, which is WAY too long. I used to buy their 'Take and Bake' Pies at Harter House, but my local store no longer carries them. They've always been good. Why did it take me so long to come back? I'm usually traveling with my husband and he prefers BBQ or a burger when we're traveling. I'm glad I mentioned it Saturday, when we were looking for a place to eat lunch! We all loved it so much that we ate there again the next day, on our way home. Between us, we tried both kinds of Chicken Pot Pie (Traditional and Mushroom), the Chicken Salad on Croissant, the Tomato Soup, and the Bacon Quiche. Each entree was served with two hot rolls. I didn't have room for the rolls, but those who did said they were good. Dessert? You may have to take it with you, but they're packaged well. The quiche reheats well in the microwave. Those who tried it said it was the best quiche ever, and ordered it again the second day, so I took a piece home to try. I haven't tried my Cherry Raspberry yet, but the others said the Coconut Cream (whipped cream) and Custard were wonderful. I did try one of his cinnamon/sugar pie crust cookies. They tasted just like my mama used to make. He said he's planning to sell those at the Harter House Stores in the Springfield area, so I'll be looking for them. He's also bringing a truck to Harter House in Springfield on Eastgate, occasionally, so I'll be watching their Facebook Page so I can buy a piece of pie without going to Rolla. Good pie crust makes a pie, and luckily, you can find them in the freezer case at Harter House and Price Cutter Stores. Look for "Mickey's Pie Crust", ready to put in the oven and bake.

Chef Kitt and her team make the most beautiful and delicious pastries, cakes, cookies, croissants and baked goods that you have ever seen and you MUST go for their reservation only themed brunches and teas. I have been several times and they are always such an experience! Chef Kitt's love for fashion is represented in her themes of Chanel, Tiffany & Co, Louis Vuitton and more throughout the year! I think they are the teas that offer the MOST value throughout St. Louis! They are not cheap, it is definitely an experience, but they have delicious full size themed pastries, and it is always too much to consume on site so you always take home a gorgeous box of your leftovers! I have spent upwards of $70 pp for a afternoon tea service throughout St. Louis and Chicago (I have seen up to $80+ in Chicago!) and was sorely disappointed but I am NEVER disappointed when I go to La Patisserie! AND guess what? She has a Tea Party "Kitt" for 2 you can pre-order! So if you have a senior who is shut in or just want to have a girls night in and keep a clean kitchen, you can pre-order a kit and have their phenomenal afternoon tea service at home! Their brunches are to die for as well! perfect for the vegetarian in your life, Chef Kitt has a lot of beautifully plated non-meat options on your brunch menu. And this bakery has a liquor license! So dine in and enjoy a handcrafted specialty cocktail with your bakery bites! This place is a must on your hit list if you are in St. Louis. Located in North county, it is worth the visit. She has the nicest front of the house staff that dress on theme, and the Parisian decor and delicious desserts and drinks will take your breath away!

While it is a LONG drive from Wildwood,MO it is well worth it! First, just walking up, you quickly notice all the extra effort taken to make the entire environment beautiful! We were very surprised that we were the only ones for the afternoon reservation, especially that they didn't cancel us as I would have expected. Instead, it was just the two of us enjoying a lovely tea with the food exceeding our expectations (and incredibly generous portions). Thankful they had a lovely box to take things home! Truly wonderful service, food and environment and a fantastic memory to share with a good friend. Thank you to the wonderful chef/owner and staff who made the experience magical!!

The display cases are filled with works of art, that taste delicious. The staff is cheerful, friendly and all of them dressed in uniforms gives a feeling of professionalism. I enjoyed a Smoked Ham and Gruyere Croissant and a black coffee in house. I was to have a seat at the counter in their front window and relax while my dogs were at the doggie spa up the street. The croissant was super-super flakey and the smoked ham paired beautifully with the gruyere cheese. I couldn't come to NRB and not take home a couple of sweet treats. My favorite treat was the Raspberry Lemon Financier. It was so good the next morning with my home brewed coffee. Then that evening I enjoyed a Lemon Cake whose name I cannot recall. It exceeded moistness and the strong lemon flavor was just what I like. In addition to my treats, I got a Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie for my fur-babies pet stylist as part of her tip. My only dislike and it's minor, is that they serve Kaldi's Coffee. I'm glad they are supporting another local small business, but I am not a fan of their product. Typically when I know a cafe serves Kaldi's, I pass on the coffee, but I made an exception here.

The place also has limited window seating available for dining.

First, the fact that my latte kicked the meal off with a Happy Valentine's - so cute. We had a little bit of everything: frittata, loaded waffles, pancakes, chocolate croissant, and potatoes. Everything came out together, warm, and tasty. The waffles were soft and a great balance of flavor and sweet. The whipped cream, I could have eaten a tub of. We arrived at 10:00, without reservations (they only take reservations for parties of five or more), and were promptly seated. When we left there was a bit of a crowd waiting to be seated. Before leaving I popped over to the bakery (where I have been a few times) and grabbed some goodies to take home for later. Love the bakery and all the options available. Great place to have a nice brunch with friends, a date, or just grab some sweets. The staff were great, friendly, and helpful with everything. Stop in and show them some love.

It had more of a coffee flavor than bananas or chocolate. I'm not a fan of coffee so this item was a disappointment to us, but the other two items were delicious especially the strawberry mousseline cake. I could eat that cake everyday! The eclair had just the right amount of custard inside. I wish I had taken photos of the desserts, but we were so excited to try them that we forgot. There was a huge selection of desserts to pick from there so next time we'll try something else. If you like macaroons, they had one of the largest amount of flavors I've ever seen. We used to go there a lot about ten years ago when we lived closer and would always get the carrot cake. It's always been good too. The place has been redone and gotten a lot bigger since we were last there. You could easily host a small get together there and the ambiance is so cute.

They made a fresh pot of coffee and even went the extra mile to go get ice as we came in later in the evening and they had run out. I did tell them they didn't need to, but he insisted which I thought was outstanding. This quaint little café is so charming inside. It allows people to gather eat a sweet treat and have general conversation conversations where you can actually hear one another. They do have outside seating too. The chocolate cake was soft and as a non-cake lover I found this very delicious. Definitely worthy of sharing. I ordered a quiche to go. I had mentioned they didn't have the spinach feta pastry that I had before. The gentleman stated we have some in the back, I'm happy to get you one. So I ordered that too. And although this was only our second time coming, the fact that they'll make a fresh pot of coffee in my opinion is key to a great café. I will keep this in my rotation of places to go.

As I was walking to the door, I see a man cleaning the tables. He walks toward the door as I'm walking up to it. We're literally standing face to face with the door in between us. I smile, he is stone faced. I go to open the door as he walks away. The door is locked. I try a few more times, thinking maybe it's me. I look around at the hours again, but next to it is a "we're open" sign. I try maybe 3-4 times more before I give up. I walk to the window and he's sitting at a table toward the back, looking at me. We just look at each other, then he looks at his computer. I turn toward my car, then turn back around and he's still looking at me! I sat in my car, confused. He never looked back up from his computer, so I left. Highly disappointed.
