I'm glad I had an great experience with these guys! After driving the horrible streets of Oakland. I ran over a crater or as the city would say pot hole. Don't get me started on the city horrible streets! So after all that I get two bent rims and two flat tires. OK so that's how my weekend started . so when I got home I called my insurance company and told them about the issue. They called the shop but they had already closed for the day. Saturday morning they sent a tow truck flat bed to pick up my ride . so since it was Saturday when they picked up my car I didn't hear back till Monday which is ok . they did an over view of my car and gave me an estimate. Good thing I have a deductible the cost was high. They had my car for 5 days because of my after market wheels. Today I got my cat out was clean and they walked me around showing me all the work. Everything was great! The staff was super friendly and very informative. I hope I don't have any more issues but if I did I will be giving them a call. read more

My car was sideswiped while parked (from front to back on the driver's side), and my insurance company referred me to Experience Autobody. My first contact was with Katricia, who was both nice and professional. It is a shame she is not the person working on the cars. After dealing with her, it was all downhill from there. My wife drove my car home from the shop, so I didn't see the car until the next day. I came down to my car, went to unlock it and thought "Well this isn't my car, I don't have tinted windows. But it sure looks like my car. Hmmmm". I walked around the car to find that it was indeed my car, but it now had ONE tinted window. Just ONE. The rear driver's side window was darkly tinted. I called the shop and was told to bring the car back, and that they would fix it. I met the owner, Mason, who said, "oh yeah, that window IS a little bit different from the others". I was thinking, "A little bit!?". How could they not have noticed? Did they think I just wouldn't notice? Or that I would appreciate having one window tinted? He assured me that they would have it fixed by the end of the day, and that they would pay for a rental car. True to his word he had the window all fixed by 4:00 pm and I thought that was the end of it. I drove away thinking, well at least they made it right. Four weeks later I noticed that there were a couple cracks in the paint on my bumper, and the paint was also peeling off. I called my insurance company and told them about the paint, and they asked me to at least take it back to the shop so that they could see what was going on. Against my better judgment, I went back to Experience Autobody. Again I met with Mason, and he looked at the bumper, and said to me "Oh you must have hit something hard." I told him that I didn't hit anything. He said well you should be careful when you park, because someone must have hit you hard. I said but there is absolutely no damage to the bumper other than the paint cracking and peeling. If someone hit me that hard, I think it would have left a dent. He said no . . . that the bumper was flexible and would bounce back into shape but that the paint was not flexible and so it cracked. He "generously" offered to fix the bumper at no charge. Again, against my better judgment I let him do it. I came back to pick my car up, the cracks in the paint had been painted over (not fixed) and my bumper was now attached incorrectly. On Toyota corollas there should be a space between where the bumper and car meet. There was no longer a space and it just looked poorly mounted. Now I started looking at everything closer and I realized that the paint on that side of the car did not have the same "depth" to it as the original paint. It was just kind of flat looking. Mason said that I could bring the car back another day and he would have the bumper fixed. At this point I decided to cut my losses and contact my insurance company and let them know I was going to the dealer to have the car properly repaired. I went to Toyota of Berkeley, and they saw all the problems I noticed and also found some more issues that were hidden. The bumper was on wrong, the paint was the wrong kind, they mounted one door incorrectly, used the wrong kind of bolts, did not have the proper weather stripping on the door. All kinds of stuff. Berkeley Toyota had to do $3000 in additional repairs to fix Experience's poor workmanship. DO NOT GO TO EXPERIENCE AUTOBODY. DON'T DO IT. read more

They ruined my paint job. The first time they painted my car it was beautiful but it flaked off weeks later. They said they used the wrong primer. So they re shot it. And this time the paint was running in lines down the car. The next time they sanded these spots out soo deep and then painted over that without building back the integrity of the hood. read more

So I'm an idiot and ended up in a fender bender. The team here fixed my car beautifully! They helped with car rental pickups and submitting pictures to insurance, etc. They took about two weeks to fix my car since there was a hidden repair they didn't initially see in the estimate, but I would much rather have them take the time to fix my car right than to rush through it and not fix it properly. Wow. Just told that I can't get my car back until 3 weeks beyond the date when it was supposed to be done. They are charging over 11 grand for this job and won't even offer me a loaner for the extra time I won't have my vehicle. I am thoroughly unimpressed. Take your car somewhere else! read more

Yesterday after work, I rolled down one of the rear windows on my car, and it wouldn't roll back up. I called GEICO, even though I knew it probably wouldn't be covered, and they sent me here. All I asked was for a closed window, as I didn't want to make my car an easy mark for thieves, and they did just that in about an hour's time. The best part? They didn't even charge me. I'm so happy i chose Experience over all the other shops. They not only did an excellent job at repairing my car. they explained in detailed everything they did to repair it as well as explained all the parts they used. The challenge in repairing my car is that it metallic grey and both bumpers had to be painted. Being metallic grey, i had other shops say that they cant match it perfectly, experience was able to do a great paint match! Much better than the last shop that painted the bumper. I hope i dont have to, but if i every need a body shop, Experience will be THE ONLY shop that I will consider! read more

I am super impressed with Experience Auto Body! Being one of those things that unfortunately happen in the Bay Area, my car was vandalized and broken into which resulted in a broken quarter glass window and some scratches (got keyed). I have Geico, so I filed a claimed with them and since I had no knowledge of auto shops around here, I reluctantly went with the shop that they had partnered with, Experience. Trust me, I was leery because I had researched shops associated with Geico doing crappy work. Well I was pleasantly proven wrong with Experience. Kae was awesome to work with. Polite, friendly and kept me updated with the process. The woman at the desk was sweet too. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name though. The best thing about my experience with them is that when I went to pick up my car, they had gone above and beyond. I had a small dent which was my fault on the same panel as the broken window and they had repaired that as well. They also replaced the lightbulb on my brake light at no extra charge to me. Absolutely top tier work, people, and an effortlessness transaction. After my accident my insurance company has Experience do the repair work. The staff was amazing, took care of everything, and all I had to do was show up , drop off my rental, and be on my way. What I was not expecting was not only did they repair my car, but they washed, waxed and cleaned it inside and out! They even worked with me to fix things that I found after the fact. what an awesome place with awesome people. i had a bad battery & was broken down on the side of the road. To make a long story short......Mickey's Tow brought us to Experience on 16th (same company). I had already purchased a new battery from another store, but it was too big to fit in the battery compartment. When I got to Experience Auto Body they told me that they didnt have the correct size battery, but after a minute or two of putting our heads together, we came up with a quick & effective solution. Mario put in the new battery in just a couple of minutes and said I was good to go! I asked if he wanted any $$$ foer his troubles and he refused. How AWESOME!!! I hate this place! My husband's van was in an accident and we were told that they would have it fixed by the end of the week. What a joke! Not only did they spend the entire deductable, they put used parts into the van, and they had to replace the steering wheel column, which they did completely wrong! He could take his keys out of the ignition while the car was driving! That does not happen with an old van. Then we returned it to be re-repaired, which they did but then the horn did not work. We tried to get them to fix it, "oh sorry, we've already used your deductable and the insurance won't pay for more work. We tried to get Geico to take care of it but the repair place said that it was like that when we brought it in. NOT!! 2 years later, still no repair or replacement for the horn. Our feeling was that there was some funny business with the insurance adjuster and the auto shop. We even complained to Geico further up the line saying that these guys seemed to be pulling a fast one, but apparently nothing came of it. Do not go here even if Geico tells you to. Tell them you want to go somewhere else and they will agree if you insist. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would! I have never been taken advantage, bullied, and coerced into such a horrible situation. BEWARE of this place, especially Miguel Rivera!!! My car was totaled in a parking lot by their client and Geico decided to tow my car here. He immediately declared my vehicle as a total loss and didn't give me any of the comparisons until I followed up with him. I found the same exact car (same VIN number) they used for a comparison online for $1,000 and they wouldn't even consider it. They also wouldn't consider the work we had done to the car a week before the accident. To make things worse, he tried to make the decision for me, by towing my car back to my place without my permission. I kept asking to deal with a different individual other than Miguel, since he wasn't treating me fairly. He just kept saying it was his file and there was nothing I could do about it. He wanted to close my claim as soon as possible because he was going on VACATION!!! Who does that?!?!?!?! What makes things worse, was that he kept threatening to put a lien on my vehicle if I didn't make a decision and pick up my car. I believe that's against the law!!! This has been the worst car experience I've ever encountered!!! read more

This place is an absolute joke. If you take your car here be prepared for horrible service. I have an Audi A4 and geico took my car here for repair. This body shop said it would be all finished within a week. They called me on a Thursday saying my car would be done at the latest Saturday. I called them Saturday and they apologized saying "sorry sir, it will guaranteed be done on Monday." Monday came around and they told me Tuesday. Tuesday went by and they promised Wednesday. Wednesday came I called and they told me Thursday. Finally I got a call from them Thursday and they said my car was finished. One hour later I get a call again telling me that "oh we are sorry but we just realized that your AC isn't pumping cold air it is gonna take another day." Let me make note that there was never anything wrong with my AC before I took it to this place. Friday finally came and they told me my car was ready. Just wait it only gets better. So I go to pick up my car and I realize that the "ABS" light is on. I tell them and they tell me "oh that's perfectly fine and if it continues to go on bring the car back." So I leave the lot to go back to my house. My house is only 0.9 miles away from the body shop. I don't even get half way home and the same problem that occurred for me to get my car in the shop happened again! I was furious. Here I was waiting on the side of the road for them to bring me a tow truck after they supposably fixed my car. DO NOT take your vehicle here you will be terribly disappointed. On top of that they didn't even give me a loaner car or try to help my cause. This place is zero stars and 100 thumbs down. Geico made me take my car here (30 miles from home). They took over two weeks to order my parts and get my car back to me. There was no communication on their part, along with geico. I had to call periodically to get an update. They said it would be ready one day and I call to schedule a pickup and they said it's now going to take longer. They replaced a tire that just popped on me the next day. After I finally picked up my car I noticed the same noise in the car that was there initially after my accident. I took it back and they said that it wasn't there when they had the car at the shop. A noise I specifically took to the shop to be inspected and fixed. They pretty much wouldn't do anything about it. They'll replace anything they can to charge the insurance but won't focus 100% on what you brought the car there for. I'm not telling anyone to not come here. Just judge the situation for yourself. read more

I went to them for repair on my car and they did the job auto body wise but they sent my car to get maintenance at affiliate mechanic shop. I think the price quoted was to high and the repairs that were required by my insurance was half done. My first problem was that my engine light came on I took it back to them and they said it wasn't part of the accident. What happend to my car was I ran over a full tire in the middle of the road which caused me bend my rim of my car damage some of the body of the car, the undercarriage, and both gas lines were destroyed because of it. They the affiliate mechanic said because of this the engine light would not have come on causing my emissions light to come on I beg to differ because prior to the accident i had no engine light problems. The geico insurance agent who was there did not do a complete evaluation therefore the whole car was not checked completely because engine damage should have been noted because of the gas line issue. I would not do work with these people because they called me to pick up my car at 12:10pm and i went to pick it up around 3:30pm but car was not there waited over 30minutes to get my car because they experience said it was getting a diagnostic check in which they did the day before. When I recieved my car this time traction light was on and no engine light .....What the hhhhhhhhhhhh...................... read more
