Ok, folks first of all I'm a car guy and have own over 25 vehicles since, let say 1986. This was the first time I felt like, Wow people do care and still provide outstanding customer service! First of all Christian, the owner and operator of Expert Auto Care is a very professional and up beat! This is something not seen today on the face of business, usually it's just some lonely employee that just hates their job, wants to get paid and just get out of the place at the end of the day! I saw the difference as soon as I walked in. Friendly smile, prompt greeting and fast check in and best of all he did it with a no cost inspection and diagnostic! Wow, novel! Zero yes zero, every where else I called was from $139 to $220 just to look! This made me pick them. I gave Expert an opportunity to help me fix my issue that I've been dealing with for months, being stressed out if I'm going to be travelling long distance and get stuck out on the open road at night. Head light are a major safety issue ! I couldn't figure it out, I change both bulbs and cleaned connectors, but no dice on left light. I'm so glad they figured it out and fixed my long standing electrical issue in a snap! I was so please with the service I treated the shop for lunch, yes the whole crew! Hope you all enjoyed it! Thank you once again and I'll be bringing my other vehicles for service, even though we live 25 miles away. I had been having issues with my car's battery dying even after swapping for a new one twice. After bringing it in I got a check up for my car and answers to the issue very quickly. Christian provided the BEST EXPERIENCE I've had with auto repairs, period. He responded same day to my scheduling email, clarified expectations on duration & process, diagnosed my blinking "Check engine" light, and replaced spark plugs & ignition coils - all in a timely manner, while communicating as needed. The Toyota Dealership I visited the day before charged me $250 to diagnose the issue. However, after 4-hrs they delivered NO DEFINITIVE RESULTS except for telling me about 4 error codes. They asked me to return for ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTICS worth $750 ($250 leak down test + $500 fuel injector test, before tax) after which, I'd pay for parts + labor. I was livid to say the least, and used that 'energy' to Google Map review all top-rated auto repair shops in the Mountain View area. Christian's name kept reoccurring with the most profound testimonials! His entire cost (labor + parts, before tax) was lower than $750, he did not charge for diagnostics, and the repair was done within the pre-discussed timeframe. He was patient & clear in his explanations, personable yet professional. He went the 'extra mile' to give me insights into optimizing cost savings for my car + tire maintenance. I didn't ask How much it would cost, because we're neighbors, but I was expecting it to cost somewhere north of $400. A couple hours Massoud called to say that he test drove my truck and checked the quality of the transmission fluid. He said that my transmission was fine, not to worry. Basic service for my 2017 Mazda CX5 was requested as a result of my dissatisfaction with a former service facility. Christian, the owner was personable and initially worked on the car promptly while we expected that the job be done in a couple hours. While we took our lunch; we were surprised to receive his text that the job was completed within the hour of drop off. I took my Honda Ridgeline there because it was having hesitations (yes it's me). I had an appointment but when I got there Christian, the owner, was slammed. He had some sick calls and was behind. On top of that my Honda had a problem that wasn't easy to diagnose. It took him hours of research to find out it was a serious problem with the transmission and that it was it should be fixed by honda since it was under warranty. He printed up the info from the forums that showed honda repairing their transmissions under warranty. He told me how to argue that it should be converted under warranty. I guess he knew it was going to be a fight. (Turns out he was right and the snakes at Honda won't cover it under warranty and im not about to shell out 4k). But back to Expert Auto Care. Christian didn't even charge me for diagnosing the problem. An auto store owner with integrity? You've won me for life. Don't expect a big parking lot with free donuts. I'm only knocking off 2 stars because I ended up paying for quite an expensive coolant flush when my car didn't need it. I think this was an honest mistake because Christian did not otherwise try to upsell me and was very willing to answer all my questions. Ever since Ed at Mechanica left the scene (RIP, Ed) I've been looking for an honest mechanic. Christian lives up to all these reviews. He's clear in communications, has a viewpoint but isn't "I know better than you", is a pleasure to work with, and is fanatically honest. Oh, and he and his team are superb mechanics, and amazingly fairly priced. I originally met him looking for a Catalytic Converter replacement -- and he took the time to explain why he couldn't do the work (welding licensing in MV), then made a great referral. I came back with starter motor issues -- fixed. Brilliantly. I can't say enough about this guy. And no, he didn't pay me to write this, I paid him for the repairs (tho less than I had anticipated). View when it got bought out by AAA and when down hill. He only hires fully qualified technicians who are great mechanics. He, himself, knows cars well and is great at diagnosing problems. I'm writing this review about my experience with the new owner of Expert Auto. I have been bringing all five of my family cars to Expert Auto for over ten years and so was nervous about whether to continue because I so loved the prior owner. My 2020 Lexus required a minor service (eg an oil change tire rotation etc) and the nearby Lexus dealership quoted me over $500 for the service. I brought it in to Expert Auto to see what they thought. It turns out that Christian, the new owner, has extensive prior experience servicing Toyotas and Lexus vehicles. He spoke in detail about what was and wasn't necessary, eg which things the dealership pushes owners and which things are actually important. He provided a timely oil change and fully inspected the vehicle. He did the service right then, which I'm sure isn't always possible, and he he saved me time and money. He reassured me about the condition of my vehicle. I was so relieved! He is obviously passionate about providing great service at fair prices, and I loved how willing he was to explain things in detail which made me feel super comfortable with his my decisions on service. Bottom line, Christian was terrific! A really bright, enthusiastic, and professional young man. I will be bringing each of my family cars in for any future service. They did a general inspection and let me know that I also should consider changing my spark plugs and my filters by my next oil change, but not an immediate concern. You might say, "how do you know they weren't running a scam on you?" Well I was wondering that too, but I have a friend who knows his cars and he backed up everything they said.
