When I arrived for that appoinment I was told I should wait for it would only take 20 minutes. After a hour and 15 minutes I asked how much longer and was told they are finishing the installation. Another 30 minutes pass and I was informed that they needed a different mirrow and woud be contacted when it the replacement would arrive. The bottom line is for a 20 minute initial installation I was at this shop 5 different days a total of over 6 hours and the job was not completed for worthless explanations; could not get it calabrated, we need another time to paint it, we are ordering a new one etc. The last visit I was told the car was being washed and it would be ready in 10 minutes - a complete lie. I asked for the manager and was told they were having problems installing it. All these visits I was misinformed, actually lied to, on the time frame to replace the mirror of which none were accurate. I left without the mirror replaced. Went to another shop, part was ordered and when it arrived, I waited while they replaced in in 55 minutes. I have used RPM a number of times with good results, but this experience could not have been any worse. ps I have never written a negative review before - but I feel this is extremely warrented.

I am always surprised by the number of new model and high priced luxury cars that are brought into the shop. When I bought my new used car a few years ago I brought it in for the once over and would only finalize the purchase after this shop said it looked good. Over 200k miles later, outside of minor things, I have only needed brakes and a starter over the years. More than a decade ago I had an estimate given for a repair from another shop for a drivetrain differential issue (big trouble and huge dollars). I was told by AAMCO that the issue required an entire new differential system ($2500)!! On a recommendation from a friend, I took the car to Hi Tech and the owner, Mr. Long Ho, after assessing the issue realized all that was needed was a shift solenoid which cost only $50.....installed!!! From that day on Long Ho is the only person to work on my vehicle. He does it all, even auto electric. He even allows you to bring in parts that you buy online or from an auto parts store like Advance Auto or Pep Boys. Because I like high performance ceramic brake pads and drilled rotors, I bring in my own brake components and he installs them no issue for the same fixed price. The shop is all by itself on the outskirts of what was once the glorious Landover Mall. The Mall was demolished about 10 years ago but Long Ho and his shop in the parking lot remained. It is on an island all by itself, but still thriving because he is honest and low priced. It is hard scrabble but do not let the looks deceive you. It you want the glitz and free coffee from dealerships, this is not the place for you. If you want an honest estimate of your car's issue at a low price, done in an efficient amount of time....this is the place. The waiting room is sparse and the restroom is super basic so plan on dropping off and not waiting there unless it is something minor that will take an hour or two. The words "honest mechanic" and "low price auto repair" are the most important words here. Disregard the hard scrabble, Spartan surroundings. Trust Long Ho, he and his crew are fair and honest and those words are worthy of five stars.

When I get there Steven tells me they still don't know why the car is misfiring or the check engine light is blinking. I had my car TOWED in at 163,538 miles(as pictured in video), when I got the car back 12/18 it was 163,615(as pictured) with NO GAS IN THE CAR & that is 77 MILES OVER. I understand that a mechanic had to drive the car around to figure out what's going on but 77 MILES IS COMPLETELY INSANE & UNACCEPTABLE!!! At this point I'm starting to think these are a bunch of basement mechanics they are only good for oil changes, brakes & rotors (the basic stuff) that's just driving people vehicles around & not really fixing anything. Whenever I go to the service department at the car dealership and they give me a list of "recommendations", I politely tell them, "just the oil change please" and then I go to Savco to see what I can save. I know that Mike and his team will tell me the real deal about my car and not try to just make a buck. I truly appreciate that. The level of customer service and care that they show their customers is unmatched in car repair shops. Whenever I go, people walk in and say "hey Mike" and he greets them with a smile. If your car is in need of some TLC, take your baby to Savco. You won't get any coffee or snacks. You won't get a complimentary car wash. But you'll get your car serviced professionally at a very reasonable price.
