Oh my Tony's garage is awesome! When we first moved here I used Yelp to aide me in finding a place to take my 4Runner. I am so glad I came to this garage! If you ever need your vehicles oil changed, serviced, state inspection, rotation it doesn't matter! Please do yourself a favor and come here the prices are very fair and reasonable. As a female I know that sometimes we can get taken advantage of, but NOT here. Everyone is professional and helpful. I took my car here for a window repair a few months ago, it was recommended to me by a friend. I had no idea at the time I would be dealing with such a nightmare!! The motor of my window had broken, and was stuck all the way down, so I had to replace it. I dropped off my car first thing in the morning, and was told I would get a call from them around noon, with an estimate. I never heard from the shop. To make things even worse they began working on my car before they had given me an estimate and I had given my consent to proceed with the repair!! Once, they had started I felt stuck, and figured it would be even more of a hassle to take it somewhere else. I had to call them over and over again. I was told 3 different prices, and paid somewhere inbetween. I don't think that Tony does a bad job himself, once I picked up my car my window was repaired. It was the front of the house that I had a major problem with. A simple window motor replacement took 4 days to repair, very inconvenient. The receptionist never called me to let me know about the status of my car. I was the one who was constantly calling the shop. They left me in the dark the entire time my car was in their hands. They made me feel as though I was annoying or pushy, I just wanted to know what was going on with my car, and when I could expect it back. I was very disappointed with their customer service, and I will never take my car back here again. read more

After searching the area for a repair shop I feel I could trust, I gave Tony's a chance. They are a bit old fashion, technology-wise, but I got an immediate sense of honesty and straight-forward ness. I've been back to them a few times now and they always take good care of me and my cars. Even come a hundred under their most recent estimate. It's a no-frills shop that does quality work. Communication abysmal. Front desk receptionist received all Info onsite to as far as model, year, contact, and diagnosis of the vehicle. I was told to drop the vehicle off in 2 days in the AM. The evening of the drop off I called myself to check on the progress. I was told I did not fill out an additional paperwork. My thought process is what did you do with the info I gave you, why did I have to call YOU ALL to find out about this, and why did I not fill out this form on the day I provided the issue. Long story short my vehicle sat up 2 days while I wasted money on a rental (the vehicle was still drivable). When I confronted the receptionist she had no recollection of much of the conversation on Monday. I was locked out of my vehicle (on my behalf) I didn't tell them there is only 1 key. When I told her I was going to just take my vehicle home she DID NOT want to give me my keys. Tony himself had to okay it. She stated if i didn't move the vehicle on today they need the keys to maybe move it. THEY COULDNT MOVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY. Don't come here please. Dementia like receptionist. I've used Tony's several times for a couple of different vehicles. The work has always been done well, and the prices fair. I would recommend them. However, as another posted touched on, it takes an extremely long time in my opinion for the work to be done. Thankfully we have a second vehicle that I was able to use, but it is not unusual for them to have a vehicle days for a simple fix, in my experience. Still, compared to other places I've used that were shady and crooks, Tony's is better than average. read more

So instead of digging himself out of the hole of bad service, Tony got a giant earth mover and dug deeper. after a month, I finally got an estimate, after which I told him to leave the vehicle as is, and I would have it towed. Instead, when I got there, he had removed the cylinder head, and extorted $300 for not fixing my truck! Never, ever have a vehicle repaired here!!!! I will be calling my credit card company to dispute the charge since I did not authorize this work, and I never received a written estimate of any sort, or even a call saying anything about removing the head. truck is now at West Laurel Garage, getting fixed correctly. read more

Tony's is a small family run shop where, unlike a dealership, you can actually talk to the owmers, who actually do the work. I took my import there for brakes and some required service and everything was done in the timeframe promised and for the price quoted. I'll go back when I need more work done as I think they are honest and will make things right if there are any issues.. read more

I think they do a good job on the repairs and the price is high but not that high. The main problem I have is the lady who works the desk is just an idiot. I used them twice (didn't learn my lesson the first time). The first time she wouldn't accept a credit card over the phone and leave my keys (first time I've ever had that problem). I can't get there before they close so I get there the next morning after they open (as I discussed with the service lady) and it still takes 20 minutes to get my car even though its just sitting there all fixed (like 2 minutes to pay for it and 18 minutes to find the key). I go back months later to give them a second shot and this time they will take the credit card over the phone (wtf) but when I go to pick up the car it isn't ready. The next day they call me and tell me its way more than they thought, but I say go ahead and then get the car. Its just a place with expensive repairs and bad service. I have used Tony's Garage for my automotive repair needs since 1991 - and as recently as this week. It's a family-owned and operated shop that does quality automotive repair at a fair price. I took my truck to Tony's after a brake like blew out 1/4 mile from his shop. I told them to replace all the metal lines. Recently the brakes went out again. I find out they DIDN"T replace all the lines as they claimed and charged me for. They just spliced new line to old line. DANGEROUS RIP OFF. The work at this shop could get you killed. Never again. The customer service is just not there. My truck was at the garage over a week and I had to call several times to find out what was going on and my husband had to physically go there. They quoted 2k for repairs. We took our truck somewhere else because it was obvious the mechanic didn't want our business with his delays. They diagnosed the problem in a day and it cost $400!!!!! That's not a small difference. Stay away...they have all the business they can handle. read more

I sought out Tony's because the garage was local and the reviews were good. I needed a simple brake replacement on an old, lightweight pickup; a routine maintenance issue I've had performed by countless garages in the past. The service was fast (same day) and I got a price quote before noon. The problem for me was the nearly $800 quote. The service included 2 front rotors and new front brake pads. I have had the exact same work done twice in the past, once by Goodyear in Leesburg, VA and once by Burnt Mills Auto Body in Silver Spring, MD. Goodyear quoted me a similar price but worked with me to identify cheaper parts and ultimately I left paying around $500. Burnt Mills was the least expensive for the exact same service (around $425). Tony's Garage tried to work with me but could only go as low as $650 ($230 for parts + $380 for labor + $22 shop fee + waste fee and tax). If you price these parts yourself, it works out to around $150, so the parts are reasonably priced. Look, I understand it's cheaper when you do the work yourself and Tony has overhead expenses but, in retrospect, this is the worst deal I have gotten for this service. This is my first and last trip to Tony's; not because the work isn't good nor the service timely, but simply because the price is oh-so wrong. I really wanted to like this place because it's local run and the people seem nice, but there is too much competition not to go elsewhere. For those of you in the area, Burnt Mills Auto Body offers quality service at lower prices, but expect a longer wait time - they do a lot of business. read more
