I usually go to the Mr. Tire on Baltimore Avenue, which is excellent. I accidentally called the wrong number and made an appointment at this one instead. Huge mistake. My car had been making a whirring noise when I started it. I dropped it off at noon on Wednesday. The technician called back and said that it wasn't making the noise when he started it, but suggested that it might only be making the noise in the cold; I could leave it overnight and they could see if it was making the noise in the morning. I have a nasty cold and wasn't planning to go anywhere on Thursday anyway, so I agreed; now that he mentioned it, I'd only been hearing the noise first thing in the morning when it was below 30 degrees. So far, so good. Thursday (today) rolls around. No calls. My nasty cold and I took a nap with the phone right next to the bed, sure I'd be woken by a call. Nope. I called them at 11 and they had no idea what I was talking about; they just had a sheet saying that the car was fine, and no one had told them to start it up again in the morning, so that was a giant waste of my time. They did find a nail in one of the tires (which no one had mentioned the day before). I said fine, go ahead and replace it. 2 pm rolls around. 3 hours since they said they were going to replace the tires, more than 24 hours since I dropped it off. I called them back and asked if my car was ready. No, it wasn't. They hadn't even started on it, because when I'd called and given the go-ahead to replace the tire, they hadn't quoted me a price, so they couldn't replace it yet. Why didn't they call me immediately after they realized they hadn't given me a price? Who knows? So, to recap: my car has been there for 26 hours and counting. They aren't addressing the thing that I dropped it off for, but they did find a nail in the tire after sitting on the car for almost 24 hours. And they refused to tell me any of this, or make any progress at all, until I called and begged them to do it. How will this saga end? Who knows? They've officially had my car for longer than I was in labor with my first child. Never again. Never. Again. read more

On Monday 2/9/26 at approximately 4:00 I went to The Tire Store in Laurel, MD and requested removal of a piece of metal from the rear driver's tire and the tire be patched (tire was fully functional with air in it at the time). A technician removed that piece of metal (and a second one) and then told me the tire could not be patched due to the two removed pieces of metal. The service manager suggested replacing two front tires and said they had Cooper tires in stock that were on sale. It was suggested I purchase two new tires for the front of the vehicle, but I needed 4 tires because my Toyota 4Runner has (4WD) four-wheel drive. Due to the weather and road conditions, I was using the 4WD to get in and out of my driveway. Further discussion of the suggested Cooper tires brought to my awareness that tires were not snow tires. After requesting replacement of the Yokohama tires on the vehicle, I was told they would have to order them and install them on the following day. I requested replacement of the no longer useful tire with my spare tire (and wished the technician had notified me that if he removed both pieces of metal at once, the tire could not be repaired). I also wish the technician had suggested using the spare tire to return home instead of me having to ask for that solution. The technician had to get additional help to work with the mechanism that makes the spare available. The spare tire was put in place, and I was told I would be called the next day when the Yokohama tires arrived. On Tuesday 2/10/26, I received a call from Patrick, the service manager at 9:30am that the tires had arrived. I told Patrick that I would come in shortly but had questions about their estimate. When we discussed the estimate, I had him remove the $50.00 store tire warranty and the $143.00 alignment fee and explain the four different taxes on the tires in the estimate. The tire replacement took several hours and during this time I checked on the SUV in the bay and asked the desk clerk why the hood was raised for a tire install. He said they do a courtesy check, and I told him that the vehicle only needed tires, no thank you. Later I heard the vehicle start and got up thinking they had completed the install, but it was not completed. I heard the vehicle start two more times and questioned the desk clerk who told me he didn't know why the vehicle was being started and would ask (and I never received an explanation). The usual desk clerk (Patrick) had gone to lunch and left his cell phone in the desk drawer, so when he returned, I expressed my concerns and he checked with the installer. I was then told the installer had broken two tire sensors and they had requested replacements that should arrive around 4:00. I left with the new tires installed and returned home. I was called at 3:30 that the new sensors were in the shop and I returned and waited for the new sensors to be installed. After at least an hour I received an apology that the new sensor batteries were dead, they had been on a shelf too long and replacements would be requested from the supplier. Patrick said he was off on Wednesday, and I had an appointment Thursday, so we agreed they replace the defective sensors on Friday. On Friday 2/13/26 I telephoned Patrick at 9:00 and requested a status of the replacement sensors. Patrick said he would call a dealer for a new delivery and had no estimated time of their arrival. I called again at 11:45 and requested another update. Patrick put me on speaker phone, and I heard him call a Toyota dealer and ask what happened to the replacements he had requested, the current ones weren't reading. He told me the dealer contact said her manager had gone to the bank and an explanation would come in 30 minutes. Patrick said he would update me in 45 minutes. At 4:30 I called Patrick and requested the status of the new sensors and was told they were in and could be installed tomorrow after 8am when the first technician starts work. I was also told it had been a crazy day, that Patrick had to fire one of the installers because "he wouldn't work with me." On Saturday 2/14/26 I arrived about 9:00 and waited for the new sensor install. At approximately 11:30 I requested status of the sensor replacement and was told the technician was programming the new ones and if the program didn't work correctly, they had to start over. By 1:00 I was told they couldn't get the new sensors to work, didn't have the right equipment and I would have to go to a Toyota dealer for resolution (and they would pay the dealer's fee). After looking at the bad reviews of my local Toyota dealer, I took the vehicle to Radial Tires in Silver Spring, MD. I am including a brief description of the condition of the vehicle when I arrived there Monday (2/16/26) at 2:00pm. The receiving manager and I discussed the tire issues and history. The manager then claimed that the $486 was the price of two tires not four and that he had no recollection of any promotion. This Mr Tire location has some seriously shady business practices. A few months ago, at a different Mr Tire location about 10 miles away, I had a run flat tire go bad and had to get it replaced with a regular tire because that's all they had in stock. Last week, the tire on the other side went bad too. I took it to this Mr Tire location and they claimed it was against federal law to mix run flats with regular tires and claimed I had to replace both tires including my brand new one with run flats. Long story short, there is no such law and they were lying to try and extort extra repairs and cost out of me. Took it back to the other location and it was no problem installing a regular tire on both sides. I have not been able to find ANY reference whatsoever to this supposed "law" that prohibits doing this. This particular Laurel location lied to me and tried to rip me off. Go somewhere else unless you want to pay for things you do not need. The manager even doubled down on the "law" story when I called them back after finding out no such law exists. I took my 2011 BMW 535xi to Mr. Tire for brake work because I was experiencing some pulsation when braking at high speeds. The service technician told me that my front rotors and pads needed replacing. I assumed this assessment was based upon a complete brake inspection of both my front and rear braking system. I later found this was not the case. I didn't think it necessary to ask that brakes be checked also! I guess in 2021 things are done differently. I was told that the car had to stay overnight because parts were not on hand and had to be ordered and ready the next day. No problem. I pay my bill of $933.29, pick up my car, and drive away. All was well, the vibration was gone. I was never told that a complete brake inspection wasn't performed. Everything was great for about 1 1/2 weeks. I'm driving and brake for a red light, all of a sudden, my brake warning light comes on. It tells me to check the level on my brake pads (I should have paid closer attention to this error, I'll tell you why in a second). I took my car back into Mr. Tire explaining the problem and to have them fix it. They tell me that they can take a look at it, but it will take an hour before they can get to it so I left it with them. I didn't hear anything back from them that day, so I called the next morning to check on the status. I was told they were looking at it now but everything looked okay based upon visual inspection. I was told in order to get a closer look they would need to gain access to the right rear wheel, but couldn't because it was torqued too tight and they couldn't get it off. What? Wait, isn't the this the same right rear wheel that you supposedly did a complete brake inspection on 2 weeks earlier. I was told this was not the case because they would have needed the car overnight to get it off. Wait? What? You did have it overnight! TBL is they admitted to not doing a rear brake inspection, but now want an additional $498 to make the light go away. I'm frustrated beyond measure but I need my car so I tell them to go ahead and complete the repairs. I pay my new bill of $498 and once again pick up my car. As I'm leaving the service technician tells me that I must drive the car for approx. 25 miles before the brake warning light will reset. It didn't make sense, but I decided to give it a try. TBL, after driving the car all around town for hours, the brake warning light never went out. I came home and decided to do some investigating. On BMW's when you replace the pads, you also replace the brake pad sensor. If you do this correctly and reset the sensor, the error on your dashboard goes away immediately. You can't drive it away! The warning light also tells you which specifically brakes are being impacted (pay close attention). In my case it was, and still are the front brakes! It was never the rear brakes! I paid for a rear brake job unnecessarily. I believe in supporting small and local business but now I literally cannot believe anything that Mr. Tire tells me. Hopefully this will help someone else out! I will update if Mr. Tire can somehow make this right. read more

Mr. Tire to the rescue, I have had tire rotations, oil changes and my second nail removed from tire. This being my second time. I called when they opened and to my delight, I got the appointment I requested. Book an appointment saves you time. What made this experience so different and awesome was the voice over the phone John you are truly an asset to your team. In these trying times someone's tone and phone demeanor really have an impact. John's voice was warm and professional and instantly made me feel at ease. I had an online coupon as well. They removed the nail and mounted my tire all with 25 minutes! John and his team were professional, knowledge and friendly watching John interact with other customers and having such excellent recommendations made me feel even more at ease! Had a flat tire so I went to Mr tire. first it took them 20 minutes before they acknowledged my presence. bought 4 tires and was told it would be a couple of hours before they could get to it. Went home to wait and after an hour got a phone call that we have wheel locks and no key. I told the guy it was in the glove box and he said it wasn't and there was nothing they could do. So went back to mr tire and low and behold the key was in the glove box. finally they finished and we left. now 2 days later my girlfriend went out and the right rear tire is flat. called mr tire and they refused to do anything until we brought the car back. If a store does not offer a service, but still lists the service on their website, allows you to make appointments for said service and then notices the problem and "forgets" to inform you before you make the commute to the store... They don't do state vehicle inspection, per the desk clerk, and even though their website says that requests are checked before appointments are confirmed it still got into the system and sent me an appointment confirmation. I've been a customer of Laurel MD MR Tire for at least 12 years. The service initially was great, I kept coming back despite a few oopses over the years. Most recently I went in with a nail in a tire. There was a question as to whether the tire was covered under a "Road Hazard Coverage" package I had purchased from MR Tire when I purchased a full set of tires from MR Tire. I had not retained the receipt and MR Tire routinely purges its records of such matters. I am trying to keep this short, but the IRS requires that we maintain our tax records for seven years. Why would a company delete its sales records after only 3 years unless they were trying to get out of their commitments? In the end, I had the tire replaced with a discount. Here are the problems: 1) This process took an entire week...yup seven days before they finally fixed it 2) Farrell, the Manager, initially refused to honor an appointment I had made in person only 2 hours prior. 3) Farrell told me I should "be happy" with the price he quoted me. Again, even though it was guaranteed under our agreement and was a full week late. 4) Farrell insisted on charging me for yet another "Road Hazard Coverage" package because I would not be entitled to the discount if I did not do so. (Even though I was entitled to the discount under the previous package I had purchased.) 5) Farrell, ever the consummate Customer Relations Manager, told me as I walked out, "Next time keep your receipt." This from the guy whose company routinely, as a matter of policy, deletes its records. There are plenty of places to get minor repairs. Next time I'll look around. read more

I recently had my truck serviced at the local Ford dealer. On my way to my Aunts funeral in Williamsport PA I developed a severe vibration I looked in the mirror the pax side rear tire had a wobble. I pulled off found 4 of the 6 lug nuts missing.I had the car towed to this Mr Tire when I explained to Fred the situation he said they don't stock lug nuts but the Autozone half a block away might have them if not we would work something out. The staff is very friendly and I have never had an issue with anyone. I always call before I go or set an appointment. The staff is pretty good at judging how long it will take to service your car. They have provided service to every car in our family (6 total) ranging from simple (oil change on my wife and daughters car) to not simple (timing belt on my daughters car). I called and told the manager. He suggested that I could get future service but I told him I wasn't coming back. No offer to refund my oil change. No offer to cover the cost of the repair. Oh Mr. Tire, you have served me well. Car breaks down on 95 Easter night after I had they look at it. Went to Pep Boys next morning BIG MISTAKE! I called Mr. Tire, they told me to bring it over and they'll look at it for free, and fix it if they could. Turns out my 2004 Sebring Chryslers timing belt broke. YAY! No. So they told me how to get it fixed and how much of a pain it would be, so much of a pain they couldn't do it. So my dad did what he could do, bought me a cheap $600 Concorde Chrysler, now my suspension is effed, took it to them, they checked it for free, and told me how to fix it. The cheap way. Not the go through them and have it done $500 with labor. Before this happened though, got my tie-rods done there. They worked with my college financing, and gave me a good deal. They've done oil changes to everyone's car in my family, and have treated us so well, and taken such good car of us. Even my fiance goes there. If you go, and when you do, Dante is the man. He will be honest with you, along with all the mechanics. They know my car by heart now, and realize it's never good when they see it. So just let them know Donna sent you. read more

5 STARS, HANDS DOWN!!! After just a few weeks of living here, some dick stole the tire and rim off my ride, leaving me with 3 good rims and tires. After pricing multiple shops and making numerous calls, I stumbled upon this Mr. Tire. I cannot put into words really how cool these guys were. The cost of the tire, mount and balance and all that good stuff was the best price in town. No haggling, no BS. Just straight up good service. I can see a few bad reviews and some good, but I'm here to say that I had such a pleasant experience with this shop that I will go back for all my tire needs! I dropped the car off during my lunch hour and before I could finish lunch, it was done. And not because they weren't busy. They just changed to a synthetic blend, instead of conventional oil, which was a little more pricey, but will last longer. This Mr. Tire is the best in Laurel. The work was done ok. The clerk was pleasant and offered fresh ccoffee but experience was ruined by the dirtiest waiting room I have ever spend 4 hours in. The trash can was over flowing and smelled like last week's lunch. There was a sofa that looked like it had salvaged from the side of the road. 4 hard chairs and a broken TV completed the look. The manager( I can't remember his name) walked out side with me to look at the situation and said I just needed a valve stem- He could have easily sold me a tire ( I'm not a gear head) but took care of the valve stem for a minimal charge and within 30 minutes with no appointment- That sort of honesty is hard to find these days and I will bring my stang and my work van here whenever I need tires, oil change, brakes, etc. read more

I've been bringing our cars here for over five years and was satisfied, but had a terrible experience today. I brought my car in for oil change and tire rotation (tires were purchased there). Very shortly thereafter I get a call saying I need new rear brake pads, rotors, and brake system flush, net cost about $1000. I pointed out that I had done the brakes there previously and got a lifetime warranty that should at least cover the pads. He told me he'd call me back. On the subsequent call, he told me he'd looked into it and the cost was $600. I foolishly agreed to it. When closing time was approaching many hours later I called to check and was told my car was ready and they had tried to call me (they hadn't). When I did pick up the car, the gas cap was open, my display had been switched to the trip meter possibly to cover that there were 2 more miles on my odometer than when I dropped off the car, and my parking brake was loose. When I got home and looked at the paperwork, I found the reduced cost was only because they didn't do the brake flush. read more
