Since I use only Amzoil, Demytrius agreed to do the oil change if I brought the Amzoil in. I made an appointment and was out within 30 minutes. It says a lot in itself if I find myself on Yelp to write a review (and even then, unfortunately, I am the one to leave negative reviews if I've had a horrible experience somewhere) so here goes! I may be young but I cannot even begin to explain just how many times I've been in a rut due to car trouble. My experiences at various places (both big corporate auto shops and mom and pop type shops) have always been nothing but awful. It's gotten to where when my car needs to be looked at, I'm left feeling traumatized and reliving all of the times I've been taken advantage of, belittled, or ripped off by every place I've been to. Seriously, a man at Pep Boys spoke to me like I was a 5 year old child and caused a scene in front if other customers when I simply asked to make an appointment for a tire change. That's only one of over 100 experiences I've had. So when Triple A told me I needed to get a shift cable replaced, I immediately went into panic knowing I'd have to brace myself for wherever I went. I'm born and raised in the central Florida area and moved to Apopka almost 3 years ago. There's multiple auto shops around but I'd never been to Sheeler before until now. I came in and was out within an HOUR. Sadly, as a young woman, I never feel comfortable going alone to auto repair shops (that's another story for a different day!). I've learned to expect the worst. But this was by far the greatest experience. Everyone was super friendly, communicative and respectful. On my way home I immediately called several friends (other single women who have unfortunately had negative experiences with auto shops) and recommended Sheeler. I drive close to an hour to see these guys so I hope that tells you something. As you would hope for in a mechanic, but rarely get, I trust that I am walking out knowing I am not being ripped off or scammed. The owners are buffalo boys so they tell it how it is in the most friendly way they can. It may not be the nicest looking shop in the world but I'll pay for quality service all day long even if I have to sit Indian style on their floor (don't worry, they have chairs - and coffee!). I called Sheeler Auto Repair to explain about my 2016 GMC Terrain was having issues with no AC and I had a quote from another auto mechanic that quoted me $1,600.00 for AC compressor and other parts and labor. The Owner Demetrius told me he could do it for around $1,300.00, but he suggested first that I go to a GMC Dealer and call the GMC customer service help line and that since my warranty just expired that maybe they would help with the cost for the new AC. I have been to this garage twice this year. The first time was for an intake manifold (and something else). The first quote I got (from a separate garage) was $1150. When I had my car towed to Sheeler, my quote was $640! Almost half the price! They didn't want any money upfront, and I could get my car back in 2 days! Ok, fast forward to this week I'm driving back from The Springs, and all-of-a-sudden I hear scraping. I pull over, and my heat shield is dangling from below my car. Took it to Steelers and the bolted it back in lace for FREE! I was in and out in 10 mins. I have a HUGE fear of Dentists and mechanics, but not with this place! My husband was serving 15 months in Korea and while he was gone, his truck starting acting up. I took it to Sheeler, apprehensive bc I'm female and know absolutely nothing about cars so I was afraid of being swindled. They were so transparent and honest from the "git-go". They diagnosed his truck for free and told me that them working on it wouldn't be worth it in the long haul (they could have made $$$ ,but chose to do what was beneficial for us instead). 1.5 years later my husband and I both came back to have work done on his newest vehicle and Demetrius remembered me and was very personable. It's like we were friends this entire time. Again, his customer service level blew me away and as long as we are in Apopka he will have our business bc they do it right and you don't second guess their intentions. I recently had to have my car worked on and found them through a family member. The garage is sort of hidden and off the main road, but if you find them I think you'll be happy to get an estimate from them. Several of the mechanics have been in the area working for over thirty years. I think they are honest and do what they say, but keep in mind that your always smart to get more than one estimate. I had used them as my go to mechanic about 3 times for oil changes and small things. They had been trustworthy up tell last week. I went in for a simple spark plug change and they said that I needed to change my coil packs also. They tried to charge me 3x the retail (NAPA) price for the coil packs. And said they couldn't find the NKG plugs (better quality) and recommended Bausch which can be super expensive and are no better quality. I called NAPA next to their shop and they were in stock. When I called them to let them know I had the plugs they refused to change the plugs without changing the coil packs. They also said that to change the coil packs they would have to take part of the engine apart... I know how to change coil packs and this is completely untrue but wanted the two hours labor they claimed it would take. They wanted a total of $600 for a $40 spark plug change. I told them that I would come pick up my car because I couldn't afford anything more. When I picked up my car the emblem was missing off the front and they acted as if they had no idea what happened to it. After ALL that I took my car to my dad and he changed them in 10 min my car runs perfectly now! I don't know if it was because I am a young female and look naïve but they tried to take advantage of me. I thought I had finally found an honest mechanic! read more

The only mechanics our family trusts with our automobiles! Seriously - I have paid some pretty outrageous tow fees just to get my car to them! They are very honest and don't try to take advantage of you. In fact, they explain exactly that's happening (in a way that makes even "car stupid" me understand), rather than just telling you what you need to do. They've stayed late to make sure I have my car back, and always stand behind their work. And I am aware that what I am about to state sounds very cliche, but we really do feel like we are doing business with family.
