wow i won a free oil change at expertec automotive at a costa mesa police community fair a few months ago. they were so happy to give this gift valued at $40-$60. i waited until i needed a oil change and then they said i would have to leave the car all day-with out an apt. i said no but i can wait. i scheduled an apt. they said that they need to have it for at least an hour but they were real busy(even with an apt) and it could take more time? just for an oil change? then i said i would prefer they reimbursement me $40.00 for the value and i will go else where-they said "no it doesnt work that way"- (something seems fishy-not trust worthy-they pride themselves on being voted #1 for last five years-whose doing the voting-them)? this is not the place for me-sketchy fast talking place that doesn't promise you anything but higher bills, no promise of time(its all about them-not customer friendly at all), and wont even honor a (give a way they gave at a police venue)-bad business model. i woundnt go there if you paid me to go there.-now that i have read the other reviews-thank you for saving myself the experience-problems i wouldnt of had before-unless i left my car with them for the 1-2 hours with an apt- just for an oil change-youre crooks-bating folks to come in since your reputation isn't enough for obvious reasons. you wont make it in business- since your scamming folks. good luck with that.... read more

Great customer service. Competitive price and most of all...honest! Brought a 2005 Toyota Sequoia with VSC Track/Check Engine lights on intermittently. Toyota Dealer recommend to change on board computer for $1,500. Asked for Don's help, he said it was just some loose wiring and tubes that comes with the cars age. Dealer never saw it.....only saw the money? Paid $114 only to Don for diagnostic. Wife is so happy that she could drive the car again safely, and I'm a very satisfied customer. Decided to come in after finding this business on Groupon and liked their prices on the oil changes. I had just recently moved to Orange County and as such I was looking for a new shop to bring my car in when it needs to be serviced. Not only was I happy to find one fairly close to home, but the overall experience was a lot more pleasant than my old shop. Huge positive for the outstanding customer service, and also the quick and professional maintenance work. Needless to say, my car has been running smoothly since. I especially appreciated the follow up call I received a week later to ensure that everything was still at optimal performance. It's the little things that make me really respect and love a business, and something as small as a follow up really did it for me. We would like to extend our thanks to Gary and his team for making our experience at ExperTec truly great. We called the day before our service to get pricing for front struts. Gary's recommendation was to come in for an inspection (even though he gave us a ball-park estimate based on year, make and model). We called him early the next morning and he said to come right over, he could fit us in. Walking into the office/waiting area is like being in a concierge lounge - all the creature comforts and clean, clean, clean. TV - on, wi-fi - available, coffee, water, cookies, you name it. Gary did the inspection quickly and we decided to proceed with the work the same day. They offer a shuttle ride home, so that was another great amenity. The car was finished a few hours later; however, we had a little glitch in our schedule because my wife took ill. When they called to say the car was ready, we asked if we could pick it up the next day (Saturday). They said, sure, but then asked if they could bring it to our house (about 15 minutes from their shop). Very, very kind and totally unexpected. After calling around getting quotes from various auto shops and having no luck with a decent price fitting my budget. someone suggested I check out yelp, so I went on yelp and found a few places and emailed them all and got a response right away from Gary from expertech automotives (the only one who replied back) I told him what needed to be done and he gave me a cheaper quote than the other shops, I had a good feeling about this place so I took my car in. I need an oil change, got this coupon for $24.99 including tire rotation. I first took to Expertec at 7680 Talbert ave Huntington beach. It was packed! no parking on the lot or the surrounding streets. After finally parked, I was told they are too busy, need to make an appointment. So I made appointment with Expertec at 1934 Newport blvd Costa mesa, which is closer to me. I had no idea they are #1 in OC, did not read their reviews before I came here. Was pleasantly surprised by the great service. The wait lobby is clean and spacious, has a computer desk, free coffee machine/water. They even has a free shuttle to take you home if necessary. They told me takes one hour, and the car was done in one hour. They did not try to rip me off on anything, did the oil change and rotated the tires. The mechanic found I was missing one nut on the tire, front desk Sare called 3 places to order one and delivered immediately, so I dont have to wait for long. I am very happy with the honest and swift service, will definitely come back again. They have plenty of parking too. read more
