I was referred here by one of my coworkers. This was my first oil change here and they guys are…read moreinformative and they look like they all have fun coming to work and happy employees are important to me. I never know whats true or not. They bring me oil colors so I can see the difference between my dirty colors and the new vibrant colors I should have. So of course I want my car to run great so im saying yes to every new filter and yes to every new fluid but Im not a mechanic so im trusting them like I've trusted my last oil change place. There is a good energy here and I hope they are doing everything they say they are doing because this is my only vehicle and Im a single mom with 2 teenagers. Between the 3 of us we are constantly going to and from everywhere. So far im happy with the service but I still have 3 guys under my hood. The real test will be how well we do until our next inspection. Based off my experience so far I will be back =). FYI: I was a committed customer to Valvoline Express off of Dyer and Main in Santa Ana but they did something I didnt like during my last oil change. So the last time I was there left a great review but before I drove off the guy brings me a list of all the things they did to my car and the only thing I recognized was Replaced windshield wiper. I knew for a fact they replaced them. They guy apologized and replaced them but now how do I know what else "they forgot" to do?

SMH…read more --- Been meaning to write this review for weeks, but the final straw came today when I found out yet again that the clowns working at this Oil Stop are either a.) incompetent or b.) did the equivalent of spitting in my food for an oil change establishment. 1. I sat through this oil change asking only for 1 thing upon pulling in- please check/fill the air in the tires because I have an alert on the dash that they're low. Literally was told I was all set and go to drive away, only to find the tires were still low and hadn't been touched. 2. The day after my oil change, I hear a grinding of sorts. Upon investigation, find that the plastic piece of the undercarriage was hanging down, not secured in place, and now torn up from the pavement from driving on it. (Mind you, they needed to remove this piece to change the oil.) My boyfriend takes it back, to be told it was "already like that" and when bf asks why they didn't mention it to me if it was already damaged, their response was "well, she's a woman". Unbelievable because shouldn't I be warned of a potential danger? 3. After they secured the damaged piece back, I am now getting an error on dash stating the front camera is blocked. Upon investigation, there is a clear finger print of OIL smeared over said camera. 4. I take the car for a minor repair to my normal place and they inform me the oil dipstick is BROKEN. Now, either these guys did this when they changed the oil, or again failed to tell me it was broken...in either case, they are trash. The funny thing is that the only thing they did to try and rectify anything was to give a 10% discount on my next oil change smh. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. THEY'LL COST YOU MONEY AND ADD A HEADACHE ON TOP OF IT.

I don't know enough to know what my car needs, but I think it's just a safe way to go for these kinds of things. The staff is super helpful, and the service was great! Can't complain there! There's really not much else to say! Easy to get in, easy to get out, and I didn't feel like they were too pushy on trying to upsell me on things. They were just doin' their jobs, so kudos to them. Especially with the groupon, the value proposition is pretty high. I think the only way to do it cheaper is to do it yourself, which I neither have the time nor skills for!

Techs were friendly and answered all kinds of dumb questions I had. Showed me the extremely dirty air filters the car had, but I decided to replace them on my own. $20 for cabin filter at Auto Zone beats $50ish dollars for having them do it. After using an online coupon, it came out to $80 using synthetic blend oil 4-5 quarts. LIFE HACK: get the online coupons and change filters and wipers yourself.

5-19-2026 I called…read moreahead to ask about oil changes, and they said it was walk-in only. The employee confirmed the hours of operation, so I was hoping to get servicing done same day. Around 3 PM, I saw there were a couple of cars in the bay, and another in line. Within about 5 minutes, an employee came out to confirm my Groupon was for the right address, since there is one for another Valvoline down the road. It only took the technician around 25 minutes to help the previous customers. This is my second time at a Valvoline, and I decided to go with them, since they are quick and let you stay in your vehicle the whole time. My info was already in the system, and they offered $15 more to switch to full synthetic blend. According to the employee, synthetic blend would only cover up to 3-4k, and the full synthetic would be around 5k. $78.98 ended up being the new estimate. $3.99 disposal fee, $4.99 oil filter, $12.99 for the oil, and $74.99 for the oil change. The technician also confirmed the oil level at the end. The card reader had some issues with charging, but other than that, they were done in half an hour. There is a small office on the lefthand side and a restroom. I thought it was funny the tire guy next door came by to advertise repairs.

For context, I took it to 3 other places prior to bringing it here and all three replaced parts that I knew were not the issue (I was able to self test them, even though I have nothing to do with cars, but I trusted them because they are "professionals"). Awaited for 3 hours, the service technician told me that I have (x2) worn-out camber bolts, and that I need them replaced or the rear driver-side alignment can not be performed. After viewing the service quoted, the quote was for over $1000!!!! They even spelled the word BOLT wrong as BOKT, and the 7030066 part number isn't even the correct part for my car. I searched for the exact bolts online, and the lowest I could find was $12 each, while the Firestone price was $129.99 each. I called them back, and they told me the quote was not a mistake and that it is what it costs. I took my car to a different Firestone tire and had my alignment done without ANY PROBLEM!!!!! The service technician told me the car is ready, and the before and after alignment printout was printed out for me without any questions. When I asked how my cam bolt condition is, they said there's nothing wrong with any of them. I am, never going back to this place again.

My local mechanic told me my motor is toast and needs the motor rebuilt which will cost minimum $4500! So I decided to call Mesa Wesr again and talked to the owner Norm and told him about the issue with my motor. He was very friendly and scheduled a service for my bus so they can diagnose the problem. After being in his garage a few days he called me and told me all I needed was for the heads to be retorqued, valves adjusted and carburetor cleaned and my motor is good to go. My total cost was less than $500 and bus never drove so smoothly and powerful! I can't say enough about this honest shop and their entire crew who are all very friendly and very knowledgeable. It's so hard to find a trustworthy and honest auto mechanic these days, especially for me because I can be pretty picky when it comes to my car. But I definitely feel I have found one with Jack (the head mechanic and owner of the shop). I've been coming to Your Neighborhood Service Station for many years now and Jack always takes really good care of me. They always take the time to explain what's going to be done with my car and they are really quick in getting the car back to me. Everyone there is so friendly, they make you feel really welcomed and comfortable. But more importantly Jack and his team are very honest and reliable, they don't try and cheat you like some other mechanics I have dealt with in the past. Oh and there prices are unbeatable! I have been coming to this shop since I was 16, and they have always quickly, accurately, and professionally fixed all the issues I've had. My first car was old and they were always patient with my needs and incredibly helpful. When I was living in a different city for a short period, I had to visit a local auto shop and they quoted the operation for $599. I was shocked...never have I had to pay that much for a minor fix (the tires on my BMW kept showing low after I kept pumping them with air). Took it to Jack, and they fixed it for only $200 and in no time! They are super honest with their pricing and have great customer service. I have a 2003 jeep wrangler and when I took it here Jack made it drive like a brand new car for a very good price. Weighting room has a very comfortable couch with a big TV and a bunch of magazines to choose through. They also have a complementary coffee machine when you weight for your car to be finished. Everyone is extremely honest and explain what is wrong with your car and what the options are to fix it. Very reliable shop, I would give them a 10/10 if I could. read more

I've gone here a couple times for smog checks. For one of the smog checks my car failed at another shop, so I brought it here and it passed. Clean, organized shop, and the mechanics seem competent. I don't know how reasonable their repair fees are. read more

Daron and everyone at the front desk were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The lobby and waiting area were spotless, which made for a great first impression. What really stood out was their thorough inspection process. They provided pictures and videos showing exactly what the issues were. It's one thing to be told what's wrong, but actually seeing the proof is top-notch service. Unfortunately, my van had a blown head gasket and wasn't worth saving. However, I was so impressed with their honesty and how they handled everything that we ended up bringing in my daughter's 4Runner. They did a full inspection on the 4Runner, replaced the entire driveshaft, installed brand-new shocks and springs, and took care of several other fixes. It now drives like a brand-new car, and we absolutely love it! Our 4Runner is pushing 298k miles, and thanks to Daron and his team at Herb's Garage, we're hoping to keep it running for another 100k. My friend has since passed, but even now, more than 10 years later, her son still stops by to say hello to Joe whenever he's in town. He always tells me, "Joe took care of my mom's car for over 20 years--it's just nice to come say hi." That really says everything about the kind of person Joe is. I bring multiple cars to him, including one that's definitely more of a headache than the others (a bit of a bad egg), and he's always been honest and incredibly fair. There was even a recurring issue with that car that he kept fixing without charging me--he said I had already paid for it once and didn't charge me for the labor. As a woman, I've had some not-so-great experiences with mechanics over the years, so I feel really lucky to have found Joe. He's a genuinely good man and an excellent mechanic. I always joke with my husband that I'm more loyal to my mechanic than any hairstylist. If you love older cars, you know how rare it is to find someone skilled, honest, and fair. I can't recommend Joe and Rob enough!

My son recently moved to the Los Angeles area and drives a late-1980s Chevrolet pickup. While driving, the truck suffered a catastrophic failure of the right front lower control arm, making it unsafe to drive. AAA towed the truck to Bay Auto Service. Before the truck was even unloaded from the tow truck or inspected, the person my son spoke with, who I believe was the manager, told him he could expect a repair bill of up to $2,500. Since my son had just relocated and was on a limited budget, he called me for advice. I spoke directly with the manager and asked whether anyone had actually inspected the truck or confirmed the cause of the failure. He admitted they had not. Instead, he immediately focused on whether my son had money to spend. He stated that it wasn't worth trying to help someone if they didn't have money. My son may have limited funds, but I do not, and I was prepared to help if the repair was justified. The conversation became even more disappointing when he proudly said, "No moolah, no fixie." He also stated that even if we wanted the truck repaired there, they couldn't even look at it for at least two weeks. He added that both of his mechanics were too old to push around a large truck. What bothered me most was not that they were busy or that the repair might have been expensive. Shops get backed up, and repairs can cost money. What bothered me was the complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and willingness to help someone who was clearly dealing with an emergency. A simple inspection or a respectful conversation would have gone a long way. Fortunately, we found a tire and repair shop next door. They immediately looked at the truck at no charge, correctly diagnosed the failed lower control arm, quoted a very reasonable $450 for the repair, and completed the work the very same day. That is what customer service looks like. My experience with Bay Auto Service was the exact opposite. Whether the person I spoke with was the manager or the owner, I hope this serves as constructive feedback. Treating people with respect costs nothing. Even when someone cannot immediately afford a repair, they deserve honesty, courtesy, and compassion rather than arrogance and dismissive comments. I cannot recommend Bay Auto Service based on this experience.
