Great company. We had them do new flooring in our 100 year old home. They did a great job. There was a good amount of tile demolition that needed to be done. Suny and his team got right to it and cleaned up everything behind them. They did an amazing and thorough job on the new floor and baseboards as well. I have no complaints, and recommend them without reservation. The only advice I would give customers is to be as specific as possible regarding what specific flooring, pad, and vapor barrier you want. I feel Hadi and I should have been more clear to avoid confusion, but most of that is on me. Overall between their pricing, quality, and work ethic, you will have a great experience. read more

I am so incredibly happy with the service we received from Rob! We were remodeling a 4500 sq ft home. He provided all new carpet, tile, and wood floors. We had a shower built from scratch. We purchased $6650 in laminate flooring. We remodeled the front half of our house so we have only used half of it. There are chips on the edges of many planks. Our contractor blames the poor quality of the flooring. Hadi says the contractor wasn't careful when he installed the flooring. I don't know who's at fault. But it's very upsetting to have a brand new floor full of chips. I had no idea that this type of flooring was so fragile. It seems to have the strength of an eggshell. read more

Hands-down the best flooring store on tile mile! I made no less than five trips to the State College area to comparison shop and Rob at Express Carpet was able to give me the best price on the premium flooring we selected. Not only were the material costs unbeatable but his demo/install prices were excellent and his crew Sunny, Chris, and Sam are top notch! They are genuine "good guys" and a pleasure to welcome into our home. They are friendly, hard working, detail oriented, and go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Sunny even helped fix our HVAC intake grill since it wasn't fitting right and the baseboards had to go around it. Small touch-up details were always fixed without any complaints and we couldn't be happier with our new floors and the quality of their work. One important tip - this crew really pays attention to cleanliness! During demo they properly masked and tented rooms to avoid the spread of dust and they always sweep, vacuum, and dispose of all waste without using our trash cans. Sunny and the guys always clean up thoroughly afterward which is much appreciated! Went down to the "Mile of Tile" looking for new hardwood flooring a few weeks ago. Went into Express Carpet (3rd shop on the trip) and liked the way they displayed the flooring on the wall. You could really see the differences between the colors and species. Hadi asked if we had any questions, answered the ones we had and filled us in on the differences in flooring, laminate vs. engineered, etc. Found one we liked that we'd seen at one of the other shops. He said, $4.59 a square foot. I said the other place had it for $4.49. He said, "Oh, I meant $4.39", with a smile. Liked him, so we talked numbers. He came by that night after closing to take measurements and brought the sample to see how it looked in the house. This week the installers were here for 3 days doing their work. Great crew, friendly, helpful and kept things clean as they went. Even accidentally left behind a nice push broom that they said I could keep when I called them to tell them it was here. We chose to install Lauzon hard maple and baseboards in our living room, dining room, kitchen and powder room on the second floor of our house. After comparing prices and floor selection, we decided to go with Hadi with Express Carpet. Hadi is professional, fair, organized, and honest. We got an initial quote on materials and labor and were able to schedule a preliminary visit to our home to determine what needed to be done. We did a nail down instead of glue to install the 3/4" thick hardwood slats. Within a couple of weeks after ordering the wood, we scheduled the flooring install the following week. Sonny along with his brother did the install. Day 1 - ripping of carpet and tile. Our house is brand new so they did a quick job of this and kept work site pretty clean from dust and dirt for the most part. They had to remove the bathroom pedestal sink and toilet in the powder room. They also began installing the wood and bullnose for the staircase. I was a bit surprised to learn that we had to paint the baseboards ourselves but no big deal. Day 2 - more installation of the hardwood. 70% done. Day 3 - finished installation of the wood and install of the baseboards and cleanup. A couple of small imperfections to report. 1) On one side of the wall, there is a tiny gap between the baseboard and wall and the baseboard doesn't seem super straight if you look closely. To be fair, this could because the wall/subfloor itself is not even. 2) small hole near staircase that Sonny had to putty and you can see where the nails went through the carpet 3) They left tiny holes through the baseboard for me to putty where the nails went through. I was hoping not to lay a finger on this job. Looking back on the job, I might have opted to put in an underlayment (for sound absorption and as a moisture barrier) given that we are planning to use the downstairs area as a bedroom. I wish Hadi would've have stressed this more as an option. Some positive notes: 1) the wood near the stair railing is completely flushed against staircase and they did a fantastic job with putting the wood around the pedestal sink and toilet. 2) As for the kitchen, the wood butting up against the dishwasher and range top looks pretty seamless. 3) Overall, wood was laid straight and the floor was even. When walking on the floor, there are no noticeable level changes. Overall, for the price, speed, and ease of dealing, these guys are pretty solid and would recommend them to others. Workmanship is pretty good but has room for improvement. -------- UPDATE 3/21/2016 I chose to update this after 14 months after work was completed. I read my earlier review and realize how different I feel about the whole experience. A few things have changed my thinking since then. Because these guys are just floor installers, they don't do anything else very well including caulking, touch-ups, or painting. 1) Hadi subcontracts the work to a third party to the job. No big deal unless you have problems with the floor installation. 2) I don't think you should have to have to paint the base boards or do any prepping. That should be offered as either an additional service or disclosed upfront on putting down your deposit. 3) After a harder look at the finished workmanship in our brand new home, it was mediocre at best. They had to remove our pedestal sink in the powder room and it wasn't quite properly leveled which caused ponding in the sink. It took a couple of months for them to fix it. read more

We settled on Express Carpets because they had a beautiful solid wood that matched the feel, quality, and style of our mid century home. Hadi was helpful without being pushy. He followed up with us without pressuring us. He stuck by his pricing because he knew the value. We got a reasonable quote and decided to do hardwood in the entry, living room, hallway, kitchen and family room. We also replaced the carpet in two rooms, a master room and dressing area. Sunny, Samy and Chris arrived to demo the 60 plus years of vinyl on top of vinyl on top of more vinyl! Needless to say it took an extra day to tackle the vinyl, parquet and carpet that was existing. I find it so impressive that Sunny, Samy and Chris persisted in scraping until the length of our entire house had one smooth, even surface from entry, living, dining, kitchen and family room. I am amazed that Sunny took the time and pride to do it right. I believe our house was built this way but a few owners later (including us) the level of each room changed with the addition of new flooring. I believe this old house deserves the attention and expertise Sunny, Samy and Chris took the time to install it with care. Sunny took care in making sure the baseboards and every edge was completely finished. We absolutely love the finished product! Hadi, from the show room called me often to check up and ensure that I was happy. Once the wood floors were completely installed, Efren and Alex arrived to install our new, plush carpet in the bedrooms. They were in and out in less than five hours. The new carpet is soft and luxurious. My family and I are extremely happy with the new hardwood and carpet. It looks like a million bucks! I also have such gratitude for each of the gentleman that came to my house and took the care and attention to our floors so we can relax and enjoy them. read more

I used Express flooring after reading the reviews and traveling around the area to several different flooring showrooms. Everyone at Express was very helpful. I felt very at home and felt like my questions and concerns were met with care and knowledge. I was able to take samples home and go back and forth several times before I made a final decision on a beautiful laminate. They put up with (and helped) my very indecisive self in a very positive and helpful manner! Even up to just a few days before the install they came out and did an additional measure because at one moment I thought I wanted to put the laminate in the kitchen as well! Beautiful install! and year later I had them back to do all the flooring vinyl and carpet in my Aunts house as we did a major upgrade to the home. I had two different carpeting projects in two different homes and I am so happy I found Express on Yelp. I called them and talked to Rob, he was so helpful and quickly planned out the next steps for me. The next morning I had him on the site at one of the homes and he brought a lot of samples to choose from. I was like man, this is too easy! I didn't even have to go there for installation day they handle everything from A to Z. They start early and finish quick even incuding the stairs. They made the carpet installation seem so easy. The second project I had seemed tougher as it involved more delicate carpet design on the stairs with spindles so we decided to visit their store in Anaheim. They have an awesome collection of simple & beautiful to sophisticated designs so it was hard to pick from but they were so patient and showed us a lot of options for the project. I did not think I'd find the product I wanted for the price I wanted--but at Express Carpet, I received a better product (one I didn't think I could afford) at a cost lower than three other bids (and the bids were for a cheaper product). The installed 7.5" Hennessy dark hickory, engineered wood floor is breathtakingly beautiful and has a UV protective coating! Hadi gave me more information about installation techniques than anyone else had. I have home that is a couple of months old, and Hadi was the only one who said the concrete needed a sealant as a moisture barrier to protect the new flooring as the concrete slab cures. To add to my delight, the installation was scheduled for a couple of weeks out. Hadi's installers were expert craftsmen, experienced and professional. They prepped and sealed the floor one day, and laid the wood floor the next day. I recommend Express Carpet to anyone looking for flooring. I am so happy with this shopping experience and so overjoyed with my beautiful new floor. read more

Express Carpet was wonderful. My wife and I had to put new wood flooring in the living room, entry way and hallway - we had a slab leak. We checked several of the other vendors in the area and got the best deal at Express Carpet - we spoke to Hadi. We put a down payment on the floors we wanted - they had some extra from a job - Hennessy (Maple Sepia Signature Series 7"). Hadi explained to us that we needed to treat the concrete and they would lay the floors over that. We scheduled the date (a few weeks before Christmas) and the crew showed up (2 guys) - they removed all the base boards and prepared the floor. The floor treatment needed to dry that night and would be ready for the morning. The crew (3 guys) showed up early and went right to work - they did an amazing job. We had 4.5" base boards and 6" base boards for a fireplace surround. They installed 6" base boards so that everything looked the same. We also had six round corners and they installed the round corner base boards for that as well. We have a double pocket door that would come off the track and they installed a small piece of wood around both sides of the door - way above and beyond our expectations.
