1/21/26 Downstairs floor replacement project Our downstairs flooring only lasted 4 years due to high humidity and no underlayment. When we first installed, the manufacture did not recommend an additional underlayment but the humidity simply killed our vinyl planks. We tried glue, filler and then clear tape. Nothing worked and it was simply terrible in appearance. I reached out to Alan end of last year to report the need of new flooring. He came to check out the areas and agreed it was due to humidity. We chose a new flooring only lasted color and type since our current one was discontinued. We opted for a new water resistant laminate that requires an underlayment which was needed in our case. We got the floors redone 1/21/26. The guys finished in 4.5 days. Good team and workmanship. I felt really bad that we were supposed to move all the little things beforehand and it completely slipped my mind. I thought they would move the furniture from one side of the room to the side but they ended up moving everything out in the garage. Due to all the cutting dust, everything brought out was covered in a layer of dust. I had to clean everything off upon the move back in which was tedious. I wish they would have recommended me to buy some plastic coverings. The half day on Sunday, the guys helped move the pool table back, completed last minute touch ups and re-installed my quartz on the vanity to fit under the mirror. They did a fantastic job and considering they had to reuse my old baseboards, it was nicely preserved for reinstall after the new floors were laid. Despite of the small hiccup with lots of dust on furniture, I was very satisfied with the crew's install. It's so nice to have flat and smooth floors again. Longer version: I've wanted new floors for quite some time as my wardrobe along with my floors were stuck in the 90's. I did extensive research and took in 8 estimates and decided on going with Alan at Love Home Floor for a number of reasons. AFFORDABILITY: Alan gave me the most affordable quote among the 8 that I received. He was 1000's cheaper than the highest one that I received. I don't normally go with the most affordable option unless they also offer the quality and reliability that I'm looking for. HONESTY: Alan appears very genuine and honest. Our tiles kept lifting up and cracking. So, we wanted to get rid of the tile on the first floor of our house and all the carpet on the stairs and second floor. We went to the Love Home Floor showroom and met Alan. He spent a lot of time with us pulling out different samples for us and explaining the differences and benefits of each different type and style. When he came to our house to get measurements to provide us with a quote, he actually brought a box of the actual flooring that we were interested in and assembled the planks and placed them on our floor so that we could see what it would look like in the lighting of our home. We got a separate quote from another company and the Love Home Floor quote was about 15-25% less. We decided to go with Love Home Floor mainly because of the fact that we were able to see the actual planks in our home before the actual installation and the price just couldn't be beat. The installation started on a Thursday morning and was supposed to be completed in 3-4 days. His team of installers were able to finish the demolition and install of flooring on both floors of the house and the staircase in two days. We were mostly concerned about the flooring that would go under appliances like the stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. There was no issue with any of these. The moved the fridge out installed flooring completely to the wall where the fridge was. For the other two appliances, they installed flooring far enough that you can't see where the new flooring stops. I needed my floors done in my new place and I called him and he took time out of his schedule on a weekend to give me an quote and brought the perfect samples that I could lay down and decide. I called him a few weeks later to schedule an appointment to get the floors done and he could do it within the next week. He promised two days, and it was done in two days. His team covered up everything in plastic wrap and moved all my furniture for free so you don't have to worry! The fridge was moved to kept plugged in so my food doesn't go bad. I was referred by my nephew family to contact Love Home Floor company. First of all, Alan was so courteous, family-like, professional, and detailed in going over the quality of the materials and workmanship.
