Came here at 5 on a Sunday because the "open" sign was out. Get to the door and hear talking, children running around. A woman is utilizing the gumball machine near the door. I see two customers actively getting haircuts thru the window, but the front door is locked. There is a barber 5 feet from the door who stops and looks at us and then turns around.... Uhm, are u closed??? Cuz u sure as hell look open!! But hey here is a crazy idea, take down the open sign... I think everyone know what the side of your head is, so when does a 5 on the sides mean just the edges of my hair. The lady didnt cut half my damn hair. I asked for two things a 5 on the sides and inch off the top, and she used a 0 around the edges and didnt use a 5 at all let alone on the sides of my head. We've been coming to Express Cuts Barbershop for a year, we used to have Jose cut our boys hair and he did a Great Job. When the owner fired him we were very nervous. Luckily Sal has been doing an awesome job and he is Great with the kids! Tina has also done a good job when he's been off and need to get a cut. Unfortunately they don't take appointments so get there early but be prepared to wait the front desk girl is very friendly and runs the clients very efficiently. They do take credit/debt but owner dislikes when people use this so she'll sometimes make you use the ATM instead. To be honest if the owner wasn't so cheap and unfriendly this place would be better. read more

Never come here for hair coloring. They use cheap products and never follow through to what you want. I went there to get a darkish brown hair coloring and it turned out orange. I left mad! Shitty barbers! I really needed a cut and I didn't want to wait for my usual barber in Chico's in El Monte. I told the lady, "line up my beard" she goes ahead and trims it w a 1.5. I never asked her to trim it. I like a dark beard. She tries to convince me and say "that's what everyone gets"... hold up, am I everyone? I thought I came to get a cut how I want it! Not the way you see everyone getting it. Why ask how I want my beard done, if you're going to end up cutting in your liking? I tell her not to finish it, I'll go elsewhere. So she continues w the haircut instead. Looked good at the moment but I get home, the cut was so uneven! She was so focused on the time and said I came in so late... ok?! So what!? focus on the cut and not rush through it bc you want to head home already. Left w my beard looking dark one side and the left side trimmed so damn short. I didn't pay for the beard cut and man I shouldnt have paid for my cut period! I didn't even bother to tip. She didn't follow directions or focused on my hair very well. I actually go here as my usual place, but my latest visit was my final straw. I usually show a picture of how I want my haircut to be, but the barbers there don't even attempt to look closer at the picture and understand that they're not the same haircut at all. In order to get something you want, you need to stop them midway of them cutting your hair. This cut I showed them a particular picture of how I wanted it to be, and instead of that, they gave me a haircut that looked exactly like the past 4 times I went there, with all different pictures. I love this shop especially because Marlene is the best Hairstylist I ever had. My hair never grew much until she cut my hair and turned my black hair to blonde. My hair feels and looks amazing. Thanks Marlene your the "BEST"!! BTW all the other hairstylist are friendly and my son loves to cut his hair with Sergio his a great barber he was the one who recommended Marlene to dye my hair.
