Express Mechanic was awesome. They came out and diagnosed the issue on my 1995 Ford F250. I thought there could be a major issue, but they caught the problem. A bad fuel selector switch. This is like a $25 part. They were honest and bypassed the broken switch to get me up and running. I was happy to pay the fair, previously agreed-upon price of the general diagnosis. I bought the part and was able to replace it myself later on. This service was last summer. And I'm about to call them again right now about another one of my trucks. Great service. read more

Well I'm impressed. From beginning to end this was one of the easiest repair process (for a mobile service) that I have had in a long time. I needed to have my right rear halfshaft replaced on my Tesla Model S. Trying to avoid getting ripped off by the dealer I decided to submit requests to mechanics on Yelp. Finally got someone who said they could do it, and at a reasonable price. (These guys.) They gave me a few availability options and was instructed to send a text with my car info and address. Booked for 9:30am. Cool! Now having had multiple bad experiences with a couple other mobile companies, I kept my expectations low. Well, low and behold they showed up, and was 30 min early. Sweet!!! The mechanic, Danny, was very polite and professional. The company truck was clean and all the equipment looked to be clean as well. Danny got to work and was removing stuff like a surgeon. At no time did I get the impression that he was guessing. He did the entire job in under 2 hours. He double checked his work and cleaned up behind himself. Requested a diagnostic for my boyfriends bmw and he responded in minutes! I was able to schedule an appointment the next morning and he showed up exactly on time. He was actually 10 mins early which is a plus as a lot of mechanics do not respect peoples time. My 2007 Honda Civic became a COVID car, and it sat in our garage since the start of the pandemic. We had trouble starting the thing, but I hesitated bringing it to the dealership because they had told me in the past that I'd need a new alternator, and I didn't even know if the car would make it to Glendale. Push comes to shove and I needed to clear the spot that the car was taking. Found Express Mechanic here and decided to give it a try given some of the recent reviews. They were thorough, showed me exactly what they were looking at when they ran diagnostics. I'm sorta car savvy so I was able to follow along. Turns out it was just the 12v battery that was the problem. Quickly quoted me for a battery, left and came back, installed the thing and took the bulging battery with them for disposal. I feel like I dodged a bullet aimed at my wallet. Best of all? I didn't catch his name (maybe it was Allan?) but he was super nice, informative, and just chill. I reached out to Express Mechanic recently for my 2012 Mercedes C250 which wouldn't start up but before that I was having issues driving home for a week with all the gauges, A/C, radio, and instrument lights going haywire while driving which wasn't cool (initially thought bad alternator). Nonetheless scheduling with Allan was easy, price was extremely fair compared to the dealership I had been loyal to for years and he found the exact issue within 1 hour (water had leaked under the passenger seat near all the computer modules and wiring). I have them work on both my Ford Escape and Ford Focus and the work is top quality and their pricing is MORE than fair! Honest Review from a customer of 2 years. A few things to consider if you're going to do business with Express Mechanic. First starting off you'll get an immediate response from Allan through yelp or however. When I first came to Express I had a great experience Allan responded very punctual was very helpful and knowledgeable. Let me clarify that the mechanics are all also great techs that do quality work. That however is all overshadowed by horrible communication by the owner Allan. Over the course of 2 years using his business. I've been given the run around on multiple occasions as to why he can't make it to an appointment on time citing he was held up with other jobs or some type of other excuse even though you've had a appointment time set with him. I've made an appointment with Allan on multiple occasions over a week ahead of time and still have him show up hours late saying he was help up with other cars. How is it that he is working on someone else's car when you have a scheduled appointment for the exact time and date. Completely unprofessional in my opinion this is constant with Allan. He will ignore your messages for quotes and never reply prompting you to have to message him multiple times over a few days or even weeks to get a response. And this is the treatment for a customer of over 2 years. I've brought my most beloved cars to Allan including a CLS55 AMG and a S63 AMG I've showed a tremendous amount of trust for Allan and this is how he treated his customer. I'd advise to stay away from this business it might seem all good at first but I promise you will be given this treatment as time passes even if you've spent thousands with him! Don't believe what he says for a second even the little things he will say he will have a quote for you by the end of the day and you won't ever receive a response unless you text him first. I recently had Allan come out and diagnose a BMW for a timing issue. After finding out that I wanted to provide my own parts (I have provided the parts for almost every single job I have done with Express) Allan decided to completely stop answering me for over a week I texted him on a few seperate days simply asking for the parts I needed to get the job done so we can move forward with 0 response just ignoring me. Today he finally responds and says I should have let him know that I wanted to provide my own parts so that he didn't have to waste time quoting parts. A completely unprofessional response on top of that he knows me as a customer I always provide parts. Anyways just be prepared to deal with this as a customer with Express. Funny how when I give a honest review that's when you respond the quickest and actually try to call me twice and then go ahead and lie on your response. I've never received anything free from you sir and never asked for anything free from you. I'm a paying customer just as anyone else and even then you still don't give the level of professionalism you should. On multiple occasions you have made repairs for me and I have had to call you back to have the same thing checked out 2-3 times until it's actually fixed. I provided that flexibility not you I stuck by and trusted you while you "diagnosed" something and we fixed it but then I ended up having to order more parts and have you come back more than once. On multiple occasions you've overlooked something that you could've let me know I needed. How about the control arms on my S63 when it the bushings we put brand new control arms at your request and that wasn't even the issue same thing with the misfire on that same vehicle it took you 2 visits to actually repair the misfire and coolant leak. I never once complained and continued to be a loyal customer to you. Also please don't disregard the fact that you give people an appointment complete with the date, time, confirmation number and then still show up 3-4 hours late and even cancel at times. It's almost been a week of me waiting for them to come to take a look at my car. I've been told multiple times they would come at certain day/time and I've even left work early because of it but, they have not shown up yet. I understand being busy but, don't lie to customers about being able to come out the next day at "x" time. I did not have a very good experience with their services. First of all, the person I spoke to over the phone was not the mechanic that came to service my vehicle, which created an issue with communication and the mechanic didn't have a clear understanding of what I was asking for. We had agreed on a specific amount for diagnosis and when the mechanic was done with my vehicle he charged me almost double. After a certain amount of tense clarification, it turned out he had tightened a few things that needed tightening and this was the reason for the increase in price. He said I had the option to pay the amount we had agreed upon but that would mean undoing all the tightening he did. I went back inside to get the money on the completed work and when I asked to do one final test so I could see with my own eyes, the work he had done still leaked. Either he hadn't done it correctly the first time and was still gonna charge me the whole amount, or he loosened it out of spite while I was gone. I hesitantly paid the full amount. He informed me that their work is guaranteed and I made sure to get a receipt. This is one of those mechanics you have to have someone around that knows how to keep them honest because they will gladly over charge you and do 80% of the work. I won't be hiring their services again. I know it's hard to find a good, honest mechanic these days but I will keep looking. read more
