After almost getting scammed at the last repair shop I went to. They were able to give me a reasonably priced ($45) diagnostic on my car and replace my battery in a timely fashion. DO NOT HAVE MECHANIC WORK DONE HERE!!!! 2 misdiagnoses and $2000 for ac work!!! And when I asked James (store manager) To deduct the either second or third Freon charge I was told no because "this is a business". So you lose a loyal customer over an extra $80 Freon charge on a $2000 invoice that your shop misdiagnosed. Too many other options within 1/4 mile trust me go elsewhere! read more

I've been a customer at the Express Oil Change off Broad St. for around 2 years, only getting my oil changed by them and nowhere else. I want to preface this by mentioning that I am a woman in her late-twenties and I was by myself. I was at the shop around 2.5 weeks ago, getting an oil change for my 2012 Honda CR-V, which I purchased in 2022 from Heyward Allen Toyota. I have a full write-up of what services were rendered by Heyward Allen Toyota prior to purchase and the car was also inspected by a trusted mechanic prior to purchase as well -- all of this to say, I know which of my car's parts are relatively new and which ones are slated to need replacement/repair in the future. While at the shop, I could overhear extremely unprofessional and impolite discussions between the techs (I believe the tech closest to me was discussing a friend/family member who was needing to go into rehab? With the things he was saying, who needs enemies when you have friends around you like that?), which is normal at repair and body shops, so I was willing to let it go. HOWEVER, one of the technicians needed a pen and asked the "gentleman" closest to me to throw him one. Not 10 seconds later, I feel a sharp sting to the side of my head and sure enough, the thrown pen was laying at my feet in my car's floorboard. When I told them their pen hit me and was in my car, the aforementioned "gentleman" apologized in the form of saying "OMG I'm such an a**hole, sorry". I hadn't used foul language with them, so that was an unpleasant surprise to get cursed at. But wait! There's more. After sitting for a while while my oil was getting changed, I was approached by the technician who supposedly worked under my car. He came to "let me know" that my oil pan's drain plug was stripped and the whole oil pan needed to be replaced, as the plug wasn't secure in its housing and could fall out/cause my car to leak oil. He *also* mentioned that "it was most likely done by whoever changed your oil last. It looks like they screwed it in wrong and stripped the threads"... remember how I mentioned I've only used Express Oil Change on Broad St.? I asked to see the drain plug and also asked for an estimate on a repair. The technician ran off inside to get an estimate, then came running back to see what my car's make and model were. He was yelling to his co-worker in the office, giving him the wrong year (2004). I had to correct him and he grinned and thanked me. When he came back to my vehicle to give me the estimate for the oil pan replacement, it was a little over $1,100. The labor was more expensive than the part itself. I asked to speak with someone, so the manager and assistant manager came over. They then tagged-team me, saying how this was a "common issue with Hondas from 2012" and urged me to get it fixed ASAP so I wasn't "left stranded somewhere". I brought up that the last place I got my oil changed at was their location, by their team. The assistant manager's response was "oh, well, yeah - we had a whole crew of trainees that ended up getting let go and your last technician was a part of that group". I turned to the manager and asked why I was being asked to overpay for a repair that 1) wasn't even confirmed to me by the technician, as no drain plug was ever shown to me, and 2) that was caused by their staff, still tenured or not? When I brought all of this up, the manager took $25 off my oil change (still paid $70 for high mileage, full synthetic) and told me that his store owner would "be in touch" within the week to discuss the repair being fully covered by them, after confirming my phone number. He vocally agreed with me to his technicians that "it's not fair to make her pay for something that we did. Why is she having to pay for this?" Needless to say, there has been no communication. Oh! And my oil drain plug is fine, confirmed by my trusted mechanic. I'm writing this review so that others aren't subjected to the same conniving, deceitful, and outright rude treatment that I was. Workers are honest and kind, they always explain what they are doing and give you fair prices without overcharging you for services. Absolute scum! I took my truck to get an oil change, a few days later the oil plug fell out of my truck, destroyed my turbo, and stranded me in the middle of nowhere for days. When I reached out about it they were initially friendly about it and assured me they would take care of me. After having my truck towed to a mechanic I had been reaching out with no answer and no response. It took weeks to get a hold of someone again, and at that point the majority of the work was done to fix the truck. These guys came back and are blaming me for the oil plug falling out and refuse to take responsibility for their actions. This ordeal has cost me nearly $8000 NEVER AGAIN! read more

Update: I've returned here several times since my first post and they never disappoint. The transparency in pricing and maintenance decisions is remarkable. I've never seen a service operation like theirs in years of driving. The throughout is something else. Not only is it quick but they are great communicators and it shows with their management. I have used these guys in the past with not bad results. They tried to upsale everything but were not overly obnoxious. However, I recommended to my 22 year old daughter she use them and they should be ashamed of themselves. She went for an oil change and the tech told her she needed new rear brakes and a set of tire; he actually frightened her, telling her the pads were "paper thin" and the tires needed to be replaced immediately . I had her buy a set of pads and bring her car over for me to check. The tires do not even remotely need to be replaced. The treads are well above the wear strips and the wear patterns are fine. The rear brake pads were about two-thirds worn. The pads still had thousands of miles of use on them. This kind of rip off crap is unacceptable. Trying to rip off a young woman is offensive. Be aware of the rip-offs and find someplace else. read more

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A VW OR OTHER EUROPEAN MANUFACTURED CAR. I want to preface that my complaint is of no reflection on the individual employees. They are hardworking and genuine when delivering the news that they cant help you. However, I have a huge complaint with overall operations management. I waited in the car line for an 1:15 until I got to be next. Then I'm told they do not have the right items (oil/filter/etc) necessary to perform my oil change. Great I am glad I waited so long with my car running to waste time and gas to not even be able to be serviced. Oh wait this is also the second time this has happened to me! My first time I ended up spending a total 4 hours at the shop, as they convinced me to wait for them to order the filter they needed. Huge mistake on my behalf in trusting them to be able to perform on a second chance. Bottom line is I don't know why this place doesn't install some sort of screening process when cars enter the line. Maybe have an employee look through the line of cars to identify any that may need less common items before it's too late for them to get out of line (this would also help your efficiency I would expect). Lastly, on a personal opinion, I find 'Express' Oil change to be a misleading marketing message to customers. read more

I recently went here and this place is as-advertised. They charge a real price for an oil change ($36), but don't try to up-sell you on every filter, ect. They then replaced the wiper blades at product cost ($10/each). The waiting room is decent with free wifi. I look forward to coming back. read more
