They gave me a $70 new customer discount without me even asking. The cost of the maintenance service ended up being nearly $400 less than the estimate Hansel gave me, and nearly $300 less than the estimate Outwest gave me (but no shade to Outwest at all; I've never been to them, but they seem to be good as well from what I've heard). The service at Yotaluma was comprehensive and ended up taking under an hour and a half. They are conveniently located near downtown Petaluma, so I was able to take a short walk (maybe 10 minutes) to downtown and eat at a restaurant by the river while I waited, which was really nice. The people at Yotaluma were super friendly, communicative, and did a good job at explaining everything to me when I asked a few questions--thank you, Joe! I will also mention that as a young woman getting a car service for the first time, I've heard stereotypes in the media about people in my demographic getting ripped off by some auto repair shops, since we might not know as much about cars, or we're perceived as not knowing as much about cars. Still walking distance from my office. I am so happy I tried them! I have been now 4 times over the past year or so for oil changes, breaks, tire sensors. Each time, I have been greeted by friendly staff, prompt text message responses with fair quotes and constant communication on anything that was beyond the expected service. I drop off in the morning and he always has my car done by end of business (at my request). Mohammad is very fair with his pricing which is so very hard to come by. He doesn't try to upsell, quite the opposite. He'll guide me in what may need to be done soon, what can wait and what is a must do. I can't help but smile each time I go there as they're just so friendly and happy! The discount card may have run out, but I continue to go back and finally feel I've found a quality and honest mechanic, especially as my Chevy has topped 100k miles. Our son's Ram 2500 diesel was having transmission problems and we took it to Empire Automotive on a Thursday for diagnostics. Chris called me the next morning to let me know the transmission was in fact toast and would need replacement. However, he had good news for us. He saw a warranty sticker on the transmission and called the company and found out the transmission was still under warranty. The transmission company sent out a replacement transmission free of charge and helped cover the cost of the installation. Chris installed the new transmission and made sure it was all dialed in by the following Wednesday. I was only charged for the diagnostic and installation of the transmission, which was very reasonably priced and I will get reimbursed for a big chunk of it from the transmission company to boot. I appreciate their honesty and integrity with their customers, and I never felt like they were trying to pad their profits. Just good folks looking out for their customers. They could have just as easily ignored the sticker, like I'm sure occurs more than we know at other garages, and charged us for a transmission as well, since we had no idea the transmission had a warranty when we bought it. They have certainly won my trust and I will not hesitate to take my vehicles there going forward. The entire staff is friendly, honest, and knowledgeable and their turn around time was much quicker than expected. Based on my experience, I absolutely recommend them to anybody!

I am super particular when it comes to my vehicles (make that "obsessive") and always want the best for them when it comes to service and how they are cared for. Empire was very accommodating with my desire to use my preferred fluids of choice (Amsoil) and provide them myself. Chris was also very helpful in getting my vehicle in and out in a timely manner and it was ready right when he said it would be. Everyone in their office was so nice and pleasant to deal with (particularly Gabby) and I had such a good feeling with the entire experience even as a first time customer. I felt like my car was in very good hands and I will absolutely be coming back as a repeat customer in the future. The pricing was also incredibly reasonable for what I had done! I'm very fortunate that their shop is within about a 2 minute walk of my house, so it makes a great thing even better when you feel you have an honest and dependable "neighborhood" mechanic. I called my usual place which is opened on Saturdays (more convenient for me so I don't have to take time off from work) and spoke to the person who answered the phone and asked to make an appointment. Well I was surprised that it wasn't the place I called but another shop as my usual spot forward their phone to another business due to a fire they had. This person said I could take it to them or take it to Super Sonic Smog but neither took appointments and were only opened Monday through Friday. I thought about it and went to Super Sonic Smog the next morning shortly after they opened and there was a line of cars as well as the cars they were working on. I happened to see Joe who does some of the smogs and asked how long he thought it would be and he said at least an hour. Well I couldn't wait that long as I had to get back to work so he said to come by around 4:15pm that same day. So I went to work and asked my boss if I could leave at 4pm to get the car smogged and he was fine with it. I left and got there about 4:10pm, and then waited. Randy ended up working on my car and I ended up waiting longer than normal smog should take due to the fact that the vehicle before my car had some issues so it took longer. Pricing was very reasonable and they do charge a convenience fee for using a credit card, though I didn't know it until I saw my receipt as there was no signage in the business stating that they charged a fee. Services was great and I will definitely take my other car here when it's time for a smog.
