After reading all the wonderful reviews about Express Waxing I decided to try it out and I have to say that I was very disappointed. First, I booked my appointment with Sara and I arrived on time but somehow Sara was busy so another lady attended me (I believe her name was Lin if I remember correctly). Of course, I was already freaked out because I wasn't getting waxed by the person everyone was raving about but then this woman that waxed me did the number one mistake any waxer knows not to do- she waxed me in the same area more than two times! AND this was in more than one area- despite my asking that she not do an area more than twice even if all the hairs did not come out. Needless to say, my skin is looking pretty irritated and I ended up with a few open wounds. read more

This place is Arlington's holy grail for bikini/Brazilian waxes. I used to trek out to Shobha in DuPont, but simply got tired of going all the way downtown and went here based off yelp reviews. I've been to three different women here (didn't get the names) and everyone has been extremely professional and somehow it's TOTALLY PAINLESS. I NEVER leave reviews, but Express Waxing is so amazing I couldn't let another day pass without sharing my experiences. I've been getting Brazilian waxes for about 7 years now (in Atlanta, NYC and now DC) and this is hands down the best place I've ever been. To be clear, in the world of waxing there are "people who can wax" and then there are "estheticians". Sarah is a true esthetician. I've been going to Sarah for a few months now and it's clear she knows what's she's doing. Brazilians can be a woman's worst nightmare, but Sarah makes it as pleasant a process as it can be. Sarah seriously has lightening speed hands!! This is probably the most pain free waxing experience I've ever had because it's SO quick! Although she's fast, Sarah is extremely detailed oriented, not leaving one hair behind. TL;DR: All waxers here are incredible (favorites being Sarah, Rida, Chanada). Great prices for amazing service. Go without hesitation. Business is booming for Sarah and she has appointments every 15 minutes so I felt a little rushed in the beginning when expected to disrobe while she was in the room, I can't imagine first-timers would feel comfortable with that. The ambiance isn't nearly as calming or comfortable as a day spa but Sarah makes you feel at ease and she does the brazilian wax so well. She is quick, efficient, thorough, and understands what is going to be most painful and prepares your for it.."hold your breath." I have been previously and the woman I had (Sarah I think) was awesome. However, I went again recently and even though I booked with the same person, they gave me another woman. Although the eye brow wax was pretty good, the lip wax was terrible. She seemed like she had never done one before and missed a large portion of my lip. I have to say, the first time I went for a wax it was a bit slow and painful. I had just moved and it made me miss my old wax place.
