She gave them her $50.00 dollars for the check, they went out and started the car to pull it in, then came back in and told her they couldn't do it because the " check engine " light was on. She then asked for her money to be returned, and they refused. She told them she felt she was being taken advantage of because she was a young woman. Then they said they felt sorry for her and would only charge her $46.00 next time. Needless to say, my next call will be to the Bureau of Automotive Repair. read more

My 19 year old grandson bought a used car from Joey Sana at Express One Way Smog. Even though he was assured that they had thoroughly inspected it and as a "dealer," would have to disclose any significant defects, the car revealed major problems within 2 hours of its purchase. My grandson returned the car the next day and they refunded part of the purchase price with a signed promise to refund the balance the following day. Three weeks later Joey Sana said the real dealer was Global Elite, LLC and even though his signature was on the promissory note, he refused to pay the balance due. In fact, Joey had signed all the documents. He was belligerent and rude, while arrogantly taunting us to 'BRING IT...!" This was not a typical dispute. Their behavior, demeanor, and tone revealed a callous disregard for resolving an issue and a smug glee at getting away with something in a business deal with a teenager. Be extremely careful before doing business with Express One Way Smog Shop. Their written promise means nothing. read more

I stopped by here yesterday to get a smog check when I saw the signs facing Alessandro. I went in and was immediately greeted by a VERY friendly woman who was very helpful. The person who did the smog check wasn't there, but she called him immediately to come and he arrived in about 10 minutes (she did the paperwork in the meantime). I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I thought the pricing was reasonable.... $50 and that included the electronic transfer free. It was hot in the tiny office, but a fan was running to keep it manageable. I would recommend this place to others. read more

False advertising. Went there with a coupon but when I presented it the guy quoted me a price higher by $20. He immediately pointed to the fine print where it says there is an extra fee for the OBD scan. Well, since you can run a smog check without a scan, why would you add that to the print without disclosing the cost? That's like ordering a soda and being told there is an extra charge for the cup. I went elsewhere and paid the full price rather than giving them my business. It was all about the principle. The guy was nice enough but he knew it was wrong. Otherwise he wouldn't have pointed to the fine print so quickly. read more

WARNING!!!! They have coupons for Vehicles with CAN BUS only. When I took my vehicle in they told me that my Car did not have CAN, that only high end models have it, and did not give me the advertised price. I had to return with my CAN diagnostic device to prove my vehicle has CAN to receive a refund. NOTE: Beginning in 2008, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) requires 100% of the vehicles sold in the USA to use the CAN Bus communication protocol So, if you bought a new model in the US after 2008 your vehicle uses CAN. The reason I gave them a 3 is because their Tech Eli was very nice and completed the test on two of my vehicles very quick. when I came back to show that one of the Vehicles did have the CAN protocol he was very nice and called his manager to give me a refund . He stated that the his machine did not display that I had CAN and that was a mistake with the diagnostic. I am not sure if this is something they are trained to do or if it was truly a mistake with the diagnostic tool.
