I have moved many times over the years and have a number of bad experiences. I finally chose right when I hired James and Extra Care Movers. NEVER have I seen movers protect and care for items the way they do. All our furniture was wrapped carefully with moving blankets and tape for protection, even though we were only moving 3 miles away. I was amazed at the care that was taken with our possessions. It was an extremely long, hot (100 degree) day. But all our stuff arrived without a scratch, and was reassembled and placed where we instructed. The price was very reasonable too! And how much is it worth to have none of your stuff broken? A lot! Great job, guys! I hope not to move again, but I will continue to recommend you to anyone looking for a great moving company. read more

Company admitted they aren't currently licensed as of 7/6/20. I looked them up, and it says their licensed was denied; however, the company said their application is pending. I'm not sure what is exactly true, but I appreciated the fact they admitted to me they didn't have an active license. I did have to ask them. They didn't offer that information unsolicited. They were kind enough to recommend another moving company; that company does have an active license. As someone whose moved quite a bit I know how important it is to use a moving company with an active license. However, if that doesn't matter to you, then they may be a good choice. They are inexpensive, however the alternative moving company I went with was the same price. JAY, EDDIE, and RENE (I apologize in advance if I mistyped the names. Also, I'm not yelling I just want to make sure you can read those names.). THOSE are the guys you want to request for your move! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend them if you're going with Extra Care Movers (not to speak poorly of their other movers, they're just the only ones I can attest to). In all my years of having to move, I've never come across anyone who moved as fast as they did while carrying loads of items! It was seriously hard not to spectate. I felt my back going out as I watched them lift several boxes and containers at once!! And I won't lie, those boxes and containers were NOT light! It was truly insane to see my stuff stacked like Tetris in my apartment one minute--with barely no room to walk--and then it be gone within the next hour! I dare say these guys may even be super human . Not to mention, they also cleared out my garage in half that time! Actually, they cleared it in half of HALF that time! Nuts! Oh! And I should also mention that this included the wrapping of my furniture! Which, btw, Jay made those wrap machines at the airport look like child's play! These guys were SUPER efficient, polite, knowledgable, and very friendly! Would you also believe that an infant slept through the entire thing only one room away? Lol. I'm telling you, these guys are SUPER HUMAN. As long as these guys are still there I will definitely be using this company again, as well as recommending them to anyone who asks! P.S. i feel all movers are similar. The work is hard and very physical. This attracts a certain type of individual. To get a clean cut uniform - wearing company of extreme professionals would cost a fortune.. if that even exists. The team of three guys James sent were friendly and hard working. We had a full house of stuff and they were efficient in trying to get it all loaded. Several things happened to slow things down. That were primarilly our fault. Our cat was sequestered in a bedroom and my wife accidentally let him out. Not the movers. Us.. Getting the cat secured again killed all the momentum. Then i had not unhooked the water lines from the washer. i had to go to Lowes and buy channel locks so the guy could unhook it. This was a a total snafu on my part. And made one guy super sour. Then unhooking our old fridge it leaked black liquid everywhere.We made the mistake of saying we don't want to bring it anyway. it wound up not fitting on the truck so a long debate ensued about a second trip given the costs involved. We wound up leaving it. Then the guy who was super sour stated making really offhand remarks to me. i told the guy who was the point person for the move and after arriving at the new place he was super nice and helpful. thank you for that. Bottom line. They do a good job. A few tips if you hire them. Unplug and tape the cords on any lamps, large appliances. Completely unhook and tape hoses /cords for the washer- dryer. Mark with sticky notes ONLY the items to wrap with moving blankets and specifically tell them the stuff they can just stack in the truck. This is what killed us and made it take hours more. Wrapping everything in moving blankets. Keep tv's plugged in unmounted so they can verify they are working and take liability. this was another snafu i did. Overall we were pleased but learned what not to do when hiring a moving company. read more

Movers always give you a two hour window when they will show up and although I would have preferred they get there at the beginning of the window, they came right in the middle of it, as promised. Once at my house, they proceeded to unload my 26' UHaul quickly and professionally. The took great care with my things. The best part was how encouraging and accommodating they were with my daughter, who kept changing her mind about where she wanted her furniture. They assembled all the big furniture and cleaned up all the debris. They even folded my rented moving blankets nicely and discarded my empty boxes. I can't overstate how happy I was with their service. At the end, I made the mistake of not reading the required payment method so they patiently waited for me to go to the bank and get cash. Be aware that you can not pay this company with a card, cash only. Other than that, things went very well and Ai will use them again in a few months when my brother moves up here. read more

After 9 moves in 10 years my wife, my kids my friends and myself are all pretty much finished. Still, my wife didn't want to pay for two days worth of movers, so we took two days and loaded two 26' U-Haul trucks with all of our belongings. Our move was literally only 4 blocks but the loading of the trucks kicked our asses. I called extra care movers to do the unloading for me. Let me tell you, it's a bargain! They showed up right on time, and had both trucks unloaded in 1 hour and 50 minutes! It was amazing to watch. 2 days of loading for the out of shape amateurs, less than 2 hours for these pros. The move was confirmed 2 days prior and the morning of; they arrived on time; they were curious, communicative, careful, efficient, and never made me feel like I was making the move a challenge. The 380 lbs treadmill (which I warned them about) was a breeze (the one guy had assembled/dissemble several before, plus the weight was no challenge either).
