Even if a postcard was mailed, they couldn't send me an email? I'm getting those monthly emails showing me they got paid. This feels like sneaky business practice. No apologies for the miscommunication or offer to work with me when I said I would be looking to move to another storage company. I'll be moving my things to Public Storage in the next week. Too bad SmartStop's owners need to squeeze more money and lost a customer. Would definitely NOT recommend this business.

We rented a unit here to store some stuff of my mom belongings that died of cancer, and when we went to check on them, we were horrified to find that the place was completely infested with rat dropping. We even found a dead rat. Unfortunately almost all of my moms sentimental items were damaged beyond repair. Furniture, family heirloom- completely ruined. I tried to reach out to the staff and district manager Derrick, hoping they would help or at least compensate for the damage, but they were completely unresponsive and dismissive. It felt like they didn't care at all about the situation or loss we experienced. No apology, no offer to fix the issue, nothing. Instead I was stuck with the responsibility of cleaning out the unit with risk my health to see what I would reserve anything that was left of my mom. I was also let with a bill when I had to hire someone to help me hual everything out of my storage that was damaged. I can't believe they let a place this unsanitary and unsafe be open for business. PLEASE do yourself a favor and find a more professional storage facility - this place is a nightmare that robbed me for Over a year. Absolutely awful experience. I hate moving…read more Loathe it. Despise it. Absolutely resent it. It's especially lovely to move in 90 degree weather while a pandemic lingers on. Pink Transfer was a bright, shiny light at the end of a God-awful moving ordeal. Hiring them was like finding an oasis in the middle of the Sahara Desert. Steve and his terrific crew of Virgil and Yousef showed up on a Friday morning. They were right on time. All were super friendly from the get-go. The month-long scowl that I had on my face from the hellishness of packing nearly 100 boxes quickly evaporated when I encountered their cheery demeanor. And ya know what? Throughout the entire 6 hour ordeal of lugging boxes and furniture up and down stairs, these guys maintained their friendliness and positivity. I was so impressed. They worked steadily, all the while making sure my furniture was nicely wrapped in blankets to prevent damage. Yes, they even treated my cheapo Ikea shelves with lots of TLC. Those shelves got the same treatment as my nice Ethan Allen sofa and chairs. No discrimination there. Everything arrived at their destination safe and sound. Seriously, these guys were a ray of sunshine amidst the stark gloom of moving....which sucks even when there's no pandemic going on. I highly recommend Pink Transfer. Their standards are high. If this is not the gold standard of moving companies, I don't know what else is. Ask for Steve Green and his crew. They are completely awesome. Make sure you generously tip for their excellent service and to supply the guys with plenty of cold bottled water and Gatorade in a cooler. We got pizza for them too. These guys work super hard and are professional as heck, so treat them well! Like car collision repair and oral surgery, hiring a moving company is one those services you hope you won't have to use again. The owner personally came to my home, inspected the area I wished to drop my box and where Pods had refused to drop, and the next day his driver came to my warehouse to drop off an empty container, waited while we loaded it which we had completed in under 30 minutes and then took my To Go Box to my home address where it sits now happily in my 75 foot long 1949 drive way by my garage:) The Driver could not have been more gracious, helpful and courteous. Just the day before the Pods driver had been disrespectful; pompous and uncooperative and thus I canceled service with them (they lost a 7 month service contract) and now happy as can be with To Go Box!:) There are many choices via these mobile storage boxes, as is I have tried three; Pack Rat tried to add on unmentioned delivery fees not listed on their website thus I canceled that; Pods practically impossible to communicate with by phone unless you want to wait 40+ minutes and then luck of the draw if the driver is professional and courteous or not and then lastly of the three To Go Box whom I love and will happily use until my work is done:) I cannot say enough positive things about this business and it's people.
