The staff when renting my original unit wasn't very helpful or informative. But when I needed to transfer units the woman in the office is an asset to the company and deserves so much praise, credit, and if you can, a raise. Never have I felt someone cares about my experience before today. She pays attention to the details and will call right away if something is out of the ordinary and that's very rare these days. My husband and I found this storage 3 years ago when we moved from upland to Colton. 10x10 for 70$ such a great price! We had to take it. When we started out a couple weeks after we had it it was horrible hence their was roaches crawling everywhere. We notified the office right away and they fixed it . We still took precaution and added our own bombs every couple of months and chalk powder around the whole storage units inside even though they found the root of the problem connected to a storage unit couple units down from ours. As time went on COVID hit. And as loyal customers for 3 years we finally got a letter a month before our next payment that our storage was going to increase by $70!..... That's $140$. We tried to negotiate the price but they said that because of Covid and the area around the storage units were going up. We called corporate and they never called us back. So we removed our stuff within a week of that notice and about 2.5 weeks in advance. The day everything was out We called that day and asked if they prorated us because we didn't finish the full month out. They said they do not prorate. Like what??? I have never heard that before and I have rented storages for a long time. Come to find out you have to give them a notice in advance that ur leaving to be prorated is what I understood from the lady that called us. So we pretty much didn't get any money back for the remaining of the month we paid for that we did not use. Maybe they need to be more clear about moving out. But who knows maybe that's how they make more money by not letting people know those kinds of details. read more

COCKROACHES We stored items there while my house was being remodeled - assured by the staff that units were clean, regular pest control, etc. I got an indoor unit that SEEMED clean. A few months later, we went to take our belongings out and immediately found cockroaches running through the unit - some had gotten into our boxes. Management refused to fumigate, so we had to pay to fumigate all oour things before we were able to bring them into our home. UPDATE - Manager post about helping us resolve the issue is pure BS. We spoke with the manager when we found COCKROACHES in and outside the unit. HE SAW THEM and said they only do pest control on the outside - and they would not resolve the issue, nor reimburse us for pest control bombs we had to use. Furthermore, he said we should "expect" pests and vermin when we use public storage! Before we moved out, we gave 60 days notice in writing. The office said we didn't need to give notice, but we did anyhow. On move out day, we asked for refund of remaining days that had been charged too our card and they refused, saying we hadn't given any notice! When I referred to the letter we'd given, they said it was "too much" notice, so they did not refund our money. RIPOFF read more

I have used this storage facility before and the grounds are always clean. Pricing is competitive and low for their spaces. The office is always clean and the staff friendly. This time around I worked with Crystal and she was super friendly, quick (but not rushed), professional and super helpful. The grounds are super secure too. read more

I have been a customer of Extra Space Bloomington Ave for years, mainly because it is right down the street from my house. They reward long-term customers by regularly raising the monthly rate without any reason whatsoever. When it was finally time for me to move out, I loaded up a Uhaul truck and was on my way. When I went to unpack the truck, I realized I was missing some valuable items, a priceless classical acoustic guitar, an acoustic bass guitar, a keyboard, and some power tools. I called Rene at the front office and he was helpful in running back the surveillance footage to try and see if any theft had taken place, however there are no interior cameras in the facility and without those, sadly, there is no proof (although a man I see quite often at the facility just sitting in his SUV happened to be there this day. I believe this person to be the thief as he is almost always there when I am there and seems to be casing the place. Unfortunately there is no evidence or probable cause to question this individual or search his storage unit). Interior cameras are necessary, I believe, and with all the rate increases I (and I'm positive every other customer) have had to put up with, Extra Space should have no trouble paying for them. Stay away from Extra Space Bloomington Ave until they can increase their video security so you can have peace of mind that your personal belongings are safe and secure. read more
