Extra Storage is your classic bait and switch scam. a few months after using them they will raise your monthly rate by 50% or more.

So far, everything has gone without any problems! I reserved my unit online and within minutes Joe gave me a call back to get it set up for me. They're advertising first month free, but I guess my unit doesn't qualify? Anyway, Joe was helpful in walking me through signing the paperwork (not a contract but you still have to give them your license and sign a "contract." Not a true contract, as it's month-to-month). I did read a review which wasn't happy about the clause in this paperwork which states Extra Storage has the right to change the price at their discretion/to reflect the market, basically. But it says a 30 day notice is given. I'll keep a watch on that and keep y'all informed because I did find other storage places around here that have competitive pricing. Pricing wise, for my 5x10 unit as of right now (unless they raise my price) I'm paying $47/month + $11 for insurance. I did discuss having my renter's cover the unit instead but the pricing was about the same so I went with Extra's (it covers flood and pest). The first month costed me $100 because they add a $24 administration fee and I bought the cylinder lock for $17 from them as well. I have high hopes that I will be happy with Extra Storage, the location is close. The front entrance has construction so you have to pass in front of all those hotels. Which is fine by me. The back entry is easy to access as well. There's locks and gates so people can't just get inside the property without a code. Been there too many years now. Price per unit is killing me! Seen Supervisors come and go. Some good, most not. Chris is good! He keeps a tight ship. The yards are always clean and with that dumpster at the exit there is always lots of trash. Lane (sp) was also a great hep recently! Kudos to both! Kelly is the rudest, racist, white, female I have ever encountered. I have been at this storage facility way longer than she has. Since it opened as a matter of fact. And when I tell you it's been nothing but an issue since she got there. Before she became manager(or before they made it official) she hung up in my face and I wasn't being rude. I guess she mad because I book my storage unit online to get a better rate than going through the store directly. How are you mad at how I spend my money! I had a tragedy in my family back in March. No compassion whatsoever from this female! It really shows her dislike for Melanated people....I put in a request for Corporate to contact me. I am requested a late fee waving. My 2nd one in the 5 years I have been there. AND to voice my concerns with this female! She just called me and told me it was redirected back to her. And the answer is NO! It will be no waiving of late fees. I wish I could share the hate in her voice...... Since corporate doesn't want to reach out to me to hear my concerns. I will be sure to write a review on every social media outlet available! It so much more than a $30 fee waived. I've sat quietly long enough. And I do my best not to waste good energy on ignorance. And this is what she displays to me, pure ignorance. For a corporation to allow this type of behavior from it's employees is disheartening and Is a reflection of the company as a whole. read more

The facility brand new and amazing. We are storing contents of entire house at this facility. It has been a breeze to get in & out and it is completely secure as you use a code to enter/exit the gate and to enter the building. The employees were super helpful and friendly. The location is air conditioned so you can store your stuff without worrying about things melting in the Texas heat. Great place to store things and not worry about it! read more
