Hi, my name is Rodrigo Diaz. I was more than thrilled at the ease of moving in. Smoothness if paperwork, clean, everyone and everything was hunky dory. After moving in it was still unorganized. I Bagan to resort my belongings. Property manager comes and tells me why am I hiding and that I could not be in the unit hiding...then rushed to look inside the unit only to find nothing. She advised me nit to hang anything in the unit so I took it down. Then I piled up some boxes and out a tarp over them she said I could not cover my belongings. The second time I was in the storage sorting items and she barges in, opens the gate super hard and says what are you doing, hiding over there behind those boxes. What did she find nothing again. now, I know there are privacy laws in place for the people who rent storage but Gewl, just wants to be inspector Gadget. Shes very nosy and has a serios problem thinking everyone is hiding in the unit living in it. I felt super insulted when she said people might think thing about what I'm doing. She's insecure and needs a lesson on customer service and not just steroids typing or thinking certain folks are up to no hood without justification. I really think shes un professional and treats people with no dignity or respect. Now, the office signage, gate sign and website all state we have access from 6-10pm. I'm there 1 1/2 hrs everyither day or so and im living there..insane! The guy in the office Marcos or something like that is very nice and helpful. My storage unit is still a mess cause I'm walking on eggshells with Gewls. Ugh.​ I just want to rent the space in peace...not this crap. read more

This facility rates a good review because they were very responsive when I had a problem at the point where I wanted to clear out my unit. I talked to their website chat, and within an hour the manager from the facility called me and we were able to resolve my problem. I have had extra space storage units off and on over the past 10 years, and have always found them well-run and cooperative. I would not go anywhere else in the future. (Full disclosure, at this particular Alcosta location every unit is a drive-up unit, which is convenient, but they are all on two sides of a very long long driveway and the only turnaround point is a the furtherest end.) read more

Honestly I never write reviews, but I'm making an exception because people should know. I signed for a particular web rate for a space. Three months later received a notice of a 100% percent increase. After calling corporate, the district manager James called me and made an offer to reduce the rate, but not back to the rate I signed up for. So basically I was deceived into signing up thinking my rate was what I signed up for -only to have James tell me we just raised your storage rent to the average of what everybody else is paying, which to be honest is a confusing thing to say - did everybody else's storage rent raise also I live in San Ramon so I understand inflation however after 3 months this feels really bad, targeted and uneasy. The offer to lower it by James was made out to be like he was doing me a favor. I feel cheated mainly because I was mislead and now I have spend so much time moving all my things out. Then, for James to tell me this is normal, leaves me speechless. In my business as a store manager I'm usually a human first, to my customers then I follow company procedures. It's really easy for me 9/10 corporate never has a problem with me treating the customer fairly. I'm very unhappy. read more

I was looking into renting storage so I stopped by to get information and I was surprised by their manager's superior attitude. "I've been here 14 years," so what? Apparently it didn't improve your customer service skills. I asked for a brochure but she didn't know what that was? The property seemed ok but I never got the chance to see it because I was not offered to go look at a space. I rented somewhere else in Dublin. read more

We used extra space to store extra house items when we moved into a rental to sell our house. It was easy to get set up and they provided great services, including noticing that our unit wasn't locked correctly and calling us immediately to fix it. We have been a customer at Extra Space Storage for 10+ years and have NEVER been unhappy with the service we've received or the space we've used. In that time we've worked with two different managers and an extension of the gate hours. The people in the office are friendly, the staff keep the place clean. Over the time we've been there they have let me store a motorcycle inside during the winter (yes I told them, they just wanted me to be careful about oil) we've had to replace two credit card (the auto-payment failed and they were very understanding), and once we messed up on locking the our door and they gave us a call to let us know. They raise the rates every couple of years and it's always been a small amount. If this place had a space that could hold my RV I'd have that there as well. We really appreciate this place. read more

I was looking for a storage facility for my mom which is moving from up from Southern California. Called around and got to Jewel. She was very professional, quick to replay and pleasant to speak to. She guided me through things to think about and what size facility i would need. This was also the most competitive price in the San Ramon area bases on a 10X25 storage space. Due to issues out of her control we decided to go another route. If i ever need a storage space in San Ramon, i will be using them. Great customer service. read more

I thought my simple trip to Extra Space Storage wouldn't be memorable, but I was gladly mistaken. I was greeted by Jewel who was the only one working and made buying boxes feel interesting. She took me through all the sizes and made sure the items I was moving would be appropriate for each sized box. She was even charismatic enough to make sure I had proper packaging tape, which I totally would have forgotten. Even after all the help she provided, as I began to take my boxes to my car to load them, Jewel was kind enough to help take half of them out with me and assist with loading them. It's the moments in little errands that I take for granted and I just had to make sure everyone knows how lovely the service was here. I will NEVER rent from these people again. They have raised the rent 2 times in less than a year!!! When i first got the unit I thought I would have that rate for a year at least before they raised the rent, but raising it 2 times in less than a year!?!? They say that they raise the rates due to competitive rates in the area but will they lower my rate if competitor rates go down? NO they WON'T!!! If I treated my customers like that, I wouldn't have any left!! Extremely unhappy with these owners!! read more

I booked this store online. I received a call from the manager shortly after my booking. I asked her if this location had storages that were located inside (temperature controlled). I was reassured to such. Upon my arrival I quickly found out that their definition of "inside" was down a short hallway, which is not temperature controlled. Once inside to pay (because at this point I still needed a storage unit) I was informed that in order to move out I need to give a 10 day notice. Because I was in between apartments I told the employee that my 10 day notice is today. He told me he would put that in my notes and everything would be taken care of. Side note: While paying the employee slide my card multiple times and didn't bother to tell me way. Long story short the employee never put my 10 day notice in. I had ants on all of my belongings. And most of my boxes were moist from the heat the the outdoor storage endured. Which is why I want a storage inside. 2 stars because u did store my belongings for about 3 weeks. read more
