At one point, I was considering storing my belongings at their warehouse for less than a week. Rather than simply taking the additional business, they told me it did not make sense to move everything from the original location into warehouse storage for such a short period because it would unnecessarily increase my costs. That advice was one of the reasons I ultimately decided to use PODS instead. My moving needs did change at the last minute, which made the overall move more expensive than I had originally planned, but that was because of the changing logistics, not because they were trying to increase the price. I really appreciated that they were focused on helping me find the most practical and cost-effective solution. I would absolutely recommend them.

I booked my move a week in advance and paid a $100 deposit after being told it would guarantee my moving date and secure my spot. Then, only 3 days before my scheduled move, the manager -- I believe his name was David -- called to tell me they were fully booked for the entire week and that my move would either need to be rescheduled or canceled altogether. I made it very clear from the beginning that my apartment lease ends on the 31st and that I needed to move before then. Had this company been honest about the fact that paying a deposit did not actually guarantee service, I would have hired another moving company much earlier. Now I'm left scrambling at the last minute, despite having everything planned out. I also have to report to work in another state on the 1st, so this has created a major inconvenience and unnecessary stress. To make matters worse, speaking with them on the phone was a complete disaster. The communication was unprofessional, disorganized, and unacceptable. They agreed to refund the $100 deposit, but that does not make up for the inconvenience, stress, and potential consequences this situation may cause me. If I receive penalties from my landlord for a late move-out or face any employment-related consequences because of this company's failure to honor their commitment, I will absolutely be exploring all possible legal and consumer protection options.

I've had multiple issues which included them mistyping my zipcode so they attempted to pick up my stuff from the wrong address, ignoring my request to automatically charge me for any payments as I would be overseas and have restrictive communication (and when I finally got a hold of them when I saw a building of past due payments, they had the nerve to say they just need a verbal confirmation to charge my card.. when I had done so on two occasions), and finally they delivered my homegoods to my new address WITHOUT confirming a time when a free days prior they told me to be rest assured they would... so my stuff was delivered to a existent apartment unit. Their customer service side of the house is terrible that included poor judgment and no apology. We weren't able to give much notice but they were able to move some things around and squeeze us in on a day they were booked for. We were told they would shoot for between 2 and 3 pm. The day before our move, we were exhausted and not prepared. We called McKendree and asked if they could add another guy, because we were not even close to being prepared enough for the movers to come. The owner was so kind and said he could send his nephew (who was working for money for college during the summer) to our house in the morning to help gets us packed. His nephew showed up at 8 am. He definitely had his work cut out for him. What a respectful kind and efficient worker! The movers showed up at 2:15 as promised and worked until almost 11pm. We had some difficult stairs and angles to get around and they maneuvered our furniture delicately with ease. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and they were hard workers. They moved everything from my studio to my new place in under three hours. It was a local move with only about 10 to 15 minutes of driving, but they were still extremely fast and efficient. Nothing was broken, although I did transport the more fragile items myself to be extra careful. The only issue was that they left several long, noticeable scuff marks on the wall in my narrow hallway. That was unfortunate, but it felt fairly minor in the grand scheme of the move. Overall, the movers were professional, efficient, and easy to communicate with. I would still recommend them, but I would suggest keeping an eye on the walls in tighter spaces.
