Food was good, their complementary bread was delicious but they only give you 2 slices. Their honeycomb with roasted corn and bread is a must. Service wasn't the best, especially the hostess's. The restaurant was also pretty warm, they turned on a mini split towards the end of our visit but while I was there I didn't notice any improvement on the temperature. Not sure if I would try again

Where do I even begin with this place? I would return to St. John just for this restaurant, it was that incredible. The service was warm and attentive, but the real showstopper was the food. We started with the calamari, which were lightly fried, fresh, and perfectly tender, none of that rubbery texture you sometimes get. But the absolute highlight of the night was the mushroom pappardelle. The sauce was rich, earthy, and downright addictive, easily one of the top five pasta dishes I've ever had in my life. The house-made pappardelle was so fresh and cooked perfectly al dente. For the third course, I went with another pasta (after nearly a week without any, I was craving it!), opting for the shrimp pasta and adding a 2 oz Caribbean lobster tail for an extra $20. The lobster was melt-in-your-mouth tender, almost buttery in texture. The shrimp were average, but the pasta again was outstanding, perfectly al dente with a sauce accented by real Pecorino Romano. Just divine. They start you off with three slices of Portuguese sweet bread that were pillowy soft, like eating bread made of clouds. I also had a mocktail made with passion fruit, ginger, and lime, bright, refreshing, and a must-try. The final bill for 2 three-course meal, two bottles of water, and two mocktails (with 20% gratuity included) came to $300. And honestly? Absolutely worth it.

For the Mrs birthday we went to our fave restaurant in St John and it did not disappoint. They have moved to a price fixe menu which includes starter, second plate, and main course. Great choices on all three. My wife had the made in house ricotta while I had the calamari, both were awesome. Both of us had the mushroom Pappardelle which was so good, layers of rich savory flavors. The Mrs had the filet mignon while I opted for the short rib. Once again, so good. Very nice wine list with great service made for a very special dinner.

Extra Virgin Bistro is very conveniently located in a wonderful spot that's very close to the Cruz Bay ferry. We stopped here for dinner, and had a wonderfully relaxed and delicious meal. We shared three entrées and a dessert. For our entrées, we had the seared tuna special (excellent!), the six-hour braised beef short rib (hearty, delicious, and beautifully presented), and we both completely LOVED the uber-flavorful cheese ravioli :-) Our dessert was a wonderful apple crisp, and we both enjoyed two very strong and tasty Grapefruit margaritas with our meal. The prices were surprisingly reasonable, and the service was spot-on - highly recommended!

Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. Space was Beautiful inside- you kind of have to ignore the crappy parking and crappy area. Normal island experience I hear. Expensive. Worth it.

Nicest food on the island. Pales in comparison to New York, Boston, London's fine dining scene. Fish was fresh, things were seasoned, courses delivered, nothing special beyond this. One course was just cheese, bread, and corn? I mean it was good, but not what I was expecting based on what this place claimed. Service was good but nothing was remarkable. Every dish we had was good, but I would not go back.

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here last year and almost a year later we still think about this place. The drinks were on point, service was super friendly and helpful with recommendations of what to order, and the food itself was extremely fresh. Maybe one day we'll be able to find our way back to St John all the way from New England but until that day comes...we'll be dreaming of the meal we had

Food - 5/5 Drinks - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Price - 4/5 Parking - N/A Ambiance- 5/5 Fantastic experience. Truly delicious. The ricotta and pappardelle were especial stand outs. Kids menu also fantastic. They got that out fast and kid friendly while still catering to my wife and I doing the three course tasting.

Excellent food and service!! Went twice in the same trip because I knew I couldn't get this kind of food and service elsewhere here. Options are to have 3 course prix fixe or ala carte. Indulged and recommend the mahi chowder, wild mushroom paperdelle, ricotta, and mahi main, plus apple cobbler. Don't forget the watermelon with rosemary mocktail either. Let the staff know if you have any special requests, like no salt. I'd go again if I had time...don't miss this one.

Good food but on a very expensive scale we ordered Sancerre (wine) and buutta for first course and my frind had mussels for the second Course I had mushroom papa deli which I would recommend for anyone visiting St.John's and my partner had the duck leg looked as delecious then for the main course had the steak sorry no place for desert ambiance was excellent but the service I'll give a 3.5 just because the server was less attentive to certain people and they felt ignored

A truly fabulous dining experience. After a short search we came across this place which was "reservation highly recommended". We walked up and with amazing luck they had a cancelation just prior. We took it! A set 3 course meal with a few options per course and a fair price tag made for a perfect evening. Here's what we had between the 2 of us: In house Portuguese sweet bread (served complimentary) - delicious/soft/fresh Wine (we choose an Italian Chianti) - devine Portobello appetizer - amazing Lobster appetizer special - yum Duck confirmed salad with sweet potatoes - slightly salty, but fantastic flavor and beautiful presentation Catch of the day (mahi mahi) - delicious Date bread dessert special - perfect blend of flavors Apple cobbler - husband loved it, to sweet for me Limoncello and Pummellocello (grapefruit) - made in house and fantastic It was the perfect amount of food. Portions were just right per dish. We had wonderful service throughout the evening with utensils changed between dishes, refills as needed, and constantly being checked in on. As a set menu price it's definitely a higher price point meal, but worth it for a nice evening out.

I had a hankering for a good gyro, so actively sought this place out after seeing it on Yelp. It was decent. Located in the Nisky shopping center, Broken Plate occupies the former location of a popular restaurant called Salt'n'Vinegar. It has been open for about two years, and has a mostly local clientele. The parking lot of the mall was packed with cars, even during morning. Daria was our hostess/waitress and was informative throughout. The lunch menu is not available until 11am, so had to order items off of the breakfast menu. Most things are a la carte. Pistachio Crusted French Toast ($14) - One large piece of stuffed french toast, cut diagonally. Described as 'stuffed with honey, vanilla, pistachio cream, topped with berries and powdered sugar'. The berries were fresh blueberries. I stole a bite, and it was delicious. It didn't need syrup. Gyro breakfast ($18) - the meat is described as lamb doner, but it had not been prepared from a rotating spit. Instead, the meat was a good representation of food service gyro meat, reheated on a grill...which considering where we were, was pretty good. The plate included any 2 eggs, so got it scrambled soft and it was prepared well. The breakfast doesn't come with Tzatziki, which was an extra $2. It came with pita bread, and thinly sliced peppers and onions. It ended up being a satisfying gyro sandwich. My brother continued to shoot the breeze with our waitress while I finished my gyro. She recommended some places to get whole fried fish, which is what the area is famous for. The bill came and that's when I realized there is no sales tax in the USVI. Payment was easy, and because it uses USD, was able to use a CC that doesn't waive foreign transaction fees.

The service was appreciated and the food came out in a timely matter. The prices were a little much, but one should expect that given the location. I went with the Cubano ($15?). It was a good size sandwich. It consisted of ham, pork, cheese, pickles, and yellow mustard. The bread was flaky and very enjoyable. For the rest of the sandwich, it was solid. I always enjoy a good Cuban sandwich. The fries that accompanied the sandwich was tasty too. I also tried their Puerto Rican pizza, which consisted of pork, and plantains I believe? To my surprise, it was pleasant. The slightly burnt crust was a little thin, but all of the toppings went well with one another. Will I go back? Probably because of the location.
