The driver was super nice, managed to magically get her to restart but both he and his boss didn't want to leave me should anything happen again. He led me to the closest gas station where she died again waiting to turn in. The driver hooked her up, brought me to the pump. We decided to try fuel (despite there being no fuel light on and the gauge showing gas). After putting $20 in, she started running again- the driver checked the dash and THEN the light came on. Long story short, I have a faulty gauge or fuel sensor- but the customer service they provided was top notch! They truly care for their customers - and I immensely appreciated their willingness to stay with me and ensure I wasn't left stranded somewhere. Being new to the area I have no clue where anything is, so they even went as far as to recommend a diesel mechanic just in case. I'd highly recommend this company to anybody in their area if they find themselves in need. Hopefully I won't require their services again, but if I do I will gladly give them a call and my service. That's the business fee for using electronic payment methods. Why transfer your fee to the customer to do business?! Needless to say, the same towing provider was dispatched for the second call. Upon arriving they followed the protocol to verify the person. I called my daughter to have her show her ID. Southern Maryland refused to tow the car. No reason provided. It was her car needing the tow, I could have provided the registration in addition to the driver physically seeing my daughter and her ID via Facetime. It's sad when customer service goes out the window because people want to play God. Maybe DOT needs to be contacted

This made me think about something a Winegardner employee said when I was in the dealership getting ready to buy my new vehicle: "Just spray it! ..... The gold Acadia out front!" Could they have known about the mark on the seat of my car before I bought it & were trying to cover it up? I took it back to the dealer & they agreed to fix it, saying it was a fault & actually ended up replacing the seat back (so they said!). Ok so far & they even gave me a free loan car. One week later, I noticed the black mark was back - same as before - all the way across the base of the back seat section. This being tan leather it really stands out! I called the dealer again & they said it would not be replaced a second time for free. SO, I decided never to go to Winegardner GMC ever again. However, a few months later my Acadia would not start at my house, so I called GMC Roadside Assistance. A sub-contractor was sent out, who said there was nothing he could do & it needed to be towed to my local GMC dealer! A recovery copany was then called, who came & took it to Winegardner GMC in Prince Frederick, MD. When the dealer called me to tell me it was there I also took the opportunity to ask the dealer again if they would fix the mark on the driver's seat. I was told they would call me back with an answer; when they did they said they would not fix the seat. I asked why & was told it had been replaced once & was not a warranty fault. When I asked what was causing the black mark, I was told it could be "an item of clothing, maybe a leather belt!" I told them that was unacceptable - for me to have to not wear a certain item of clothing (black leather belt), to avoid the black mark getting worse! I have been wearing the same type of clothes/belts for many years & have NEVER had any black marks left on seats. This particular mark will not come out with any type of cleaning solution. I suggested the quality of the leather on teh Acadia was sub-par & that they should complain to GMC but to no avail. To add insult to injury, the reason my car would not start (they said) was because it was 'low on gas!) The gas gauge was not even on the 'low gas' warning level, so how could that have caused it not to start? On top of that, the Service Manager was extremely rude, short-tempered, unfriendly, uncaring & did I say RUDE? I am seriously thinking about trading in my Acadia for a Toyota or Nissan, as I have had excellent feedback from friends who drive those makes & good reviews of the respective local dealers.

I got a call explaining the car had failed inspection for TWO MINOR THINGS (which I was already aware of). I asked if the alignment had been done also, to which he told me he wasn't aware I requested one. No problem, but yes let's get an alignment done please. He advised me they do not do alignments and had to send the car to another shop to get it done. No problem. Once the car was taken to who knows where- I was never even given the name or location of whatever "shop" I did not personally hire to service my vehicle, I was told the alignment could not be done, and it would cost $2k+ to replace chassis parts in order to be able to align the car. What they were not aware of is that I myself am an automotive mechanic, and I inspected my vehicle myself before taking to them. I declined the up charge and informed them I would like to pick the car up, but now they can't tell me when they would even have it back. Again, I have no idea where my car is at this point. I explained politely that I'd like to come pick it up first thing in the morning, and I was told it would be ready. Morning time comes and I call first choice, and I'm told the car is still not back, and "maybe" they can have it back by lunchtime. At this point I have to shuffle my schedule around just to make plans to pick my car up. I call back around 1pm and I'm told it's still not back. I inform them that I will be there to pick my car up in 30 min and they need to figure out how to get it back to their shop. Once I arrive, wouldn't you know it, the car is still not there. And when closing out my bill, I'm informed that I owe extra $ for this failed alignment situation, I don't even know who or what I'm paying for that, again, no information on where my car went was ever given. After about 30 minutes of waiting, the car shows up, and after a couple apologies from the receptionist, I was handed my keys. I wasn't the happiest customer at this point, but I understood. I let them know I will be making the TWO MINOR REPAIRS listed on the inspection report myself and will bring it back in a couple days for reinspection. I bring the car back a couple days later for reinspection and handed the inspector my keys so he could check it out, I literally had to replace a mirror glass and hood latch pull. Minor. He asks me did I get the alignment fixed, and I said no. He then immediately, with an attitude, shoves the keys back in my face and tells me he will not pass it. At this point I am fuming, I explain to him that I paid YOU to inspect my car, and what you wrote on the report has been fixed. What this man was trying to do was fail the car based on info "supposedly" given to him by some unnamed 3rd party for the alignment. I tell him, nothing about alignment was on the report I was given from YOU yesterday. In this moment I am catching him in his own lie, saying "I'm human, I forgot to put it on the report". No sir, you either missed it, or you're trying to make things up. The whole point of being a licensed state inspector is to NOT MISS THINGS, you are literally responsible for the vehicles you sign off on, that will be put on these roads. He then goes and makes that change on his computer and prints me a new report showing it now failing for 3 things. Unbelievable. What I took from this situation was first choice auto trying to up sell $2k+ worth of unnecessary items in an attempt to get a few bucks. Once I left this place, I immediately took it to another MD inspector and the car passed inspection with NO issues. The lesson I learned is that this place will never see another dime from me. I have a copy of both failed reports from first choice, one showing those 2 minor things, and another one showing he added something that wasn't true. I also have the passed inspection report from the reputable shop that was done immediately after I left first choice. I will be making sure the MD state police hears about my experience here, hopefully they make the necessary corrections. Be weary of this place.

He was actually a little early. The price was doable and he did a great job getting the ouid smell out of the car (as it was a rental) and anything in the small creases. I definitely recommend his service. He finished in a good amount of time for me to be able to return the car.
