Zero stars. I will never go back to this store again except to pick up my new glasses which are almost month old and I don't have them yet. My family and I have been going here for many many years and it is now taking 1 month for me to get my new glasses which were supposed to be ready 2 weeks ago. I was just told that they won't be ready until maybe next week which will be going on5 weeks since I purchased them. No one is in charge. There are no managers on duty. They have no answers. Can't tell me why it's taking a month. I can get better service and pay way less for the same result but get my glasses when promised. This place is just bad. No good. read more

ORIGINAL: I went in to get checked a few months back because I could not see out of one of my eyes. Vision was completely blank. I came here as a preliminary place before going to the ER later that day. I wanted the doctor to see if he could find anything in my eye that might have been causing this. They charged for my once a year exam plus a specialty exam. He didn't find anything at the time, but I still could not see at all and somehow he gave me a prescription. Fast forward a few months I was diagnosed with a disease that caused this and wanted the doctor to fix my prescription because after a few months of recovery I now can see again in my eye. Was turned down, said I have to pay again because I'm passed their 90 day rule for corrections. You'd think they'd make exceptions for someone with a chronic disease that needed time to recover? Wrong. I now have a glasses & contacts prescription that I can't use but paid for. I was told it was not a random number that the doctor put on the prescription but how did he get any measurements from my eye when I couldn't see at all out the eye? Sounds like guessing to me. I saw all the negative reviews before going here and thought I'd give this place the benefit of the doubt being so close to home, man was I wrong. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE. I rather pay double somewhere else than pay these people again. I'm going to go pay for another full exam elsewhere since this place used up my insurance for the year. read more

If I could rate this place a zero, I would. Save yourself from a big headache and run around and go elsewhere! The Optometrist are good, but to take over 2 months to receive your prescription glasses is insane! It's not like their prices are better than others in the market. I just have two words: STAY AWAY!!!! This place is absolutely horrible. Overall the doctors are what they are: doctors. Mine was pretty pleasant and took the time to explain things to me. My issue started when I went to order contacts. Since I was switching to new contacts(I had been going to America's Best) they wanted to make sure things were okay with the new brand & asked me to come back in 2 weeks...cool. I had $200 in insurance (the exam was free) towards contacts/glasses so I just waited. Well when I came back in 2 weeks, all of a sudden there's a $60 fee that I was told was not covered under my insurance (mind you I had given them all of my insurance info prior to even coming in so why is it an issue almost 3 weeks later). The next issue was my actual order. Since it was coming up on the end of the year and I had not yet used my benefits (they would be getting cut in half for 2009) I wanted to make sure that things were handled before January 1st. My order was placed on Dec. 5 and I was told that they would be in within 2 weeks....well 2 weeks come and go. I figured that since it was the holiday season they may need a few extra days....so I call 2 days after Christmas and I'm told that there was a delay but they should be in by Dec. 31. I call Jan. 2 at which point I'm told THE ORDER WAS NEVER PLACED!!!!! I immediately blew up! I eventually had a file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for resolution and I will say this...I wouldn't care if they were the last place on earth to get glasses, I will NEVER, EVER go back there again. read more

I was lured into trying these guys because of a coupon offer. As it turns out all the coupons they offer are kinda worthless. The one for a 6 month supply of contacts plus an eye exam for $99 apparently only covered the old kind of contacts no one wears anymore. And the $39 "comprehensive" exam clearly has a different definition of comprehensive than... you know... the dictionary, since it was extra for people with contacts or glasses. Most of the people you see the eye doctor in other words. As for the actual exam, it was perfectly adequate. It felt thorough enough, but not with the personal care I've had in nearly every other eye exam I've ever had, even ones where it was my first time there. Their prices on contacts were not good. Pretty much every other eye doctor has them cheaper and they're definitely a lot cheaper on Lens.com if you're willing to get them shipped to you. Also, strangely, they didn't give me a receipt when I was there. To their credit, when I requested it (needed it to get a rebate on the lenses), they mailed it to me immediately and I got it the next day. Overall, if you have few other choices, you could do worse than this place, I just don't think I'll be back any time soon. read more

They are the worst!!!! I agree with the other reviews about a terrible customer service. I had an eye emergency earlier this year and (although I was a loyal long term patient) they did not take me in. I found another optometrist (much better customer service) that made 5 minutes to see me. We decided to give them another try today to buy eye glasses.Edith who is an optician yelled at us for trying glasses on because we lowered the mask for less than 20 seconds when we were more than 20 ft away and we were trying the glasses on that we we were trying to buy. You can't tell if you like the glasses if your entire face is covered which is why we went to the opposite corner with no one around. She was very unprofessional and absolutely no right to yell at us. We were nervous to go in to begin with and her unprofessional attitude was completely uncalled for. She told us the only place to look at the glasses was in her bathroom in the back. Ummmm no, we did not want to go in her filthy bathroom in the back. Very unprofessional and shady. If you have never been there and are looking for a new place, this is not it. This is coming from a long term customer and they have disappointed me numerous time. If we did something wrong, ask us in a professional way, don't yell at us and tell us to go in your bathroom!!!! I will never go there again and will make sure to let everyone else know how poorly we have been treated over time!!!!!! read more

An eye boutique that is as welcoming as its employees. When purchasing my transition lenses Edith was extremely helpful and knowledgeable when helping me select my product. It was very reassuring to see the effort put it in by all the employees. Definitely coming back in the summer season for sunglasses!! read more

This review is purely based on my individual experience at this Eye Boutique-Schaumburg that I've been going to for the past few years because my work provides VSP vision program. Dr. Sesso is an EXCELLENT eye doctor that I highly recommend to anyone getting contacts/glasses. He is very courteous, kind and extremely patient. Dr. Sesso provides expert advice for his patients and acknowledges each person individually. He is a true professional! The people that work with/for him at the desk are a crapshoot however, so don't bother getting to know them at all because more than likely they won't be there long. Those people seem to revolve every year or so continuously not sure why? In any case, great job Dr. Sesso and keep up the great work. The quality of my glasses are great. The optometrist is also very good. However, I can not give 5 or 4 stars because of the service at the front desk. The day that I bought the glasses the service was great, when I went to pick up my glasses the service was very poor. The same person, one of the males in the store, who sold me the glasses, ignored me this time. The lady who supposed to give me the service was not focus at all. She started to do something else. Then I reminded her that I was waiting. Then she asked me to wait again and she left me waiting again. I had to look for a second person who was very polite and apologized. When coming into the store I was weary due to reviews others have posted but after my shopping and fitting I was very satisfied with both Edith and Crystal efforts in being able to help satisfy my purchase. Being a first time eye glass wearer they both added a level of comfort and service that is generally unusual in stores. Will defiantly recommend to others. read more

I have been a long time customer of Eye Boutique and always had fine service. This time when I went in to order glasses, the girl that was helping me was new and she was having trouble getting the pricing to make the sheet she had, another lady came over and she was very RUDE. Once we settled on the issues, they were going to have the manager call me to discuss why pricing was not matching paper vs system. Manager called, very nice, got everything worked out. Glasses came in, they called, I went to pick up. Rude lady helping me and again she was rude. One lens had a wave / water mark across the lens, I couldn't see at all. She acted like she didn't believe me, besides that the glasses fit horribly... crooked and uncomfortable. They said they would get lens fixed, 2 more weeks. Ok, no problem. Fixed glasses came in, I went to get, again, rude lady helping me, still rude. I could see, but only if I adjusted the glasses constantly, she tried to adjust, but just said to wear them and come back if still not right. A couple weeks later, I went back because they were so uncomfortable and had to be adjusted continuously. Again, Rude lady helping me, I wanted to walk out when I saw her behind the counter, but didn't. She ended up telling me that some glasses just don't fit right. WHAT??? So I just left, intending to go back or call and talk to the manager. Well I really didn't feel that I could see that well, and when I got to really looking at my lenses later, I could see a wave / ripple on one. She ruined my lens!! I went back the next day and showed them to Irfan (I finally got a name). He could tell right away that she had overheated them trying to adjust them and indeed ruined the lens. So again, they had to be sent back. Crystal, the manager, called me the next day, assuring me that they would get my glasses correct for me. Even asked if I would like to try a different style to avoid the fit issue. But I told her no, I had tried the glasses on 3 different trips before I decided which fit me best and were most comfortable. Crystal was very professional and helpful and apologized for both the mess up and the rudeness by the other lady! Glasses come in again, I wait until Irfan is available to fit me. FINALLY I have glasses that I can see out of and are comfortable to wear. I still need to get a minor adjustment. But I will make sure either Irfan or Crystal is there whenever I go back to give them another chance. I hope their rude staff issues have been fixed, as I read the reviews from others before I wrote mine, it seems I am not the only one that was put off by the front staff. read more

I received a post card yesterday, stating that they had not seen me since september of 2013. WRONG! They took my money and my insurance money. Finally got my glasses in December, prescription was incorrect. Took until January to get corrected. One problem, prescription was still off. Took the glasses back to them a week later. It is now August, they still have my money, the insurance money and my glasses. Seriously, do you think I will go back to them? I stand a better chance putting money in a slot machine. read more

Abysmal service and follow-up. Eye Boutique (EB) lost my prescription and I had to get a replacement sent from my ophthalmologist. When received I returned to EB and picked up a nice pair of glasses (was hoping they could expedite for me). However, was contacted 2 days later via message and told there was an issue with my order (no specifics of course). Not a problem, except when I called EB that evening, no one could help me because they didn't put notes in my file and the involved associate had left for the day. OK, lost a couple of days, but did speak with the associate the next day and granted approval for an upgrade to my lenses. Did he indicate they wouldn't bill me... but instead, someone would follow up the next day with the quote????? No! Another day lost. 5 days and glasses still not ordered!!!! Last time me and my family will frequent this store. I recommend you do the same PS Don't even ask me how the cancellation will be handled by the Schaumburg team. Something tells me I'll be dealing with this issue for quite some time. read more

Dr. Sesso is a great optometrist. Customer service in optical dept is good. They take the time to work with you to select frames and fit you. Not like the old management team which was family run though. Prices are high especially for people needing bifocals in high prescriptions, but about the same as other places I have checked out who need these types of glasses. read more

Eye Boutique of Schaumburg had our family's business for over 15 years. But in recent years, I have found the staff get increasingly rude and unprofessional. It is from pure habit that we kept going there -- because everyone has a bad day and we overlooked some of the incidents. But we finally called it quits after my daughter called them up for getting a copy of her prescription and the staff was not only rude but abruptly hung up the call. Dr Sesso (the optometerist) is very nice and professional -- but the staff running the place currently are something else. This place used to be packed in the past -- now, you see only a fraction of the clientele of the past years. I finally begin to understand why. read more

The only thing good about eye boutique I'd Dr Sesso though most optometrist are good. The front desk is rude and inefficient. They lack basic courtesy and politeness. Its like they are paying us to talk to them. America is America because of the way it functions, surely they can hire a person who speaks good English and has an understanding of work culture. The price of everything is high in eye boutique. None of the glasses or contact lens is made in USA. It's special ordered and comes from China. I can't speak to the doctor because we brought our prescription from our optometrist to look for frames we liked. From the first time we arrived at the store we felt like we were intruding and the people there looked at each other to see who would have to help us. The quality of the glasses were worse. The lenses on my sunglasses popped off and the coating on them appeared smeared. We added extra warranty coverage on the glasses and guess what, they refused to accept it was a problem with their workmanship and materials. There is a greasy film on both my wife's and my glasses that no matter how much we clean them they won't go away. Overall a horrible experience and store. read more

I arrived today 10 minutes before my appointment after leaving a meeting so I would not be late. My appointment was scheduled over 2 weeks. When I arrived there was no one to greet me. I waited and once someone became available she handed me a clip board with forms to update and complete. I did that. By 11:11 the Doctor came out and I thought it was my turn. It was not - he still had not seen earlier appointments. I asked the blonde person why someone didn't call to tell me he was running behind? She was not friendly and said she didn't have time. They were all sitting with no one in front of them - but OK. I waited a few more minutes but at this point could not have my eye exam, pick out glasses and get back to work so I left. I did ask for my personal information back and let them know the Doctor could now be on time for maybe his 11:30 appointment. Being more than 40 minutes late for an appointment is unacceptable and so is the way the front staff treats clients. In case you do not know - there are many eye doctors and locations in Schaumburg and Customer Service Does Matter. Being on time is important - especially when people make appointments weeks earlier and take time from work to be seen. I was looking at 2 pairs of glasses - one would be a sunglass and one a coach frame. Unfortunately for this location they have lost yet another customer. I had gone to Eye Boutique as a kid for all my glasses. I recently went back as an adult to order eye glasses. I placed the order on 3/4/15. The Dr. I was examined by was very nice as was the rest of the staff. Today is now 3/26/15 and I still have not received my glasses. Every time I call, I get the same response. "Well, we called the lab and they said they're shipping them out today". I've gotten that excuse two days in a row now. All I want is my glasses and no one there can seem to give me a straight answer. I was told 10 business days and it's now been 16 with no real hope in sight. Not that I can see ANYTHING because I don't have my new glasses! I would go somewhere else for glasses if I were you. read more

Dr. Sesso and The Eye Boutique in Schaumburg are GREAT! Dr. Sesso is very kindly and made me feel very at ease. The Office Manager was very professional and courteous in regards to helping me select a frame that looked good on me. It is true their lab is located in Milwaukee and it does take about a week to get them completed, but upon receiving them, I was very happy. In regards to the price range, If you have insurance such as VSP, and you stay within your plans allowance, the price is moderate. read more

I have been wearing glasses for 5 years now and I recently bought my glasses from Eye Boutique last year and within few months the anti reflective coating started to come off. I went back to the store and they informed me that the lens was defective and that they would replace it. Things went well. Few months later, the same things happened again. I went back to Eye Boutique and this time spoke to a woman, the new manager. I politely told her about the defective lenses and asked if they could do something about it. To my surprise she reacted in the most bizarre way. First she said 'I have scratched the lens and so they cannot change it'. She then went on to say "I don't mean to be a jerk but you might have dropped it or oil must have splattered on the lens during cooking or you must have damaged it". The next few minutes was weird and worse, thanks to her rude behavior. I was surprised by her unprofessionalism and amazed at her insulting attitude. Thanks to the insulting customer service of the manager and Eye Boutique for selling defective lenses, I know better now and you wont be getting business from me and my family anymore! read more

Dr. Sesso is the only person I will see here and is the only reason I still go to this place. I had a bad experience with an Asian eye doctor here years ago who made me throw away my contacts because she said that they were so old and blurry, I was better off without anything. Then she said she could call the police on me if I didn't do what she asked because it was a hazard to drive with those contacts. Umm, I got there just fine didn't I? Anyways, I complained to the Eye boutique and she is no longer there. Thank God!! But Dr. Sesso is the best and is very nice and professional. The eye boutique's prices on the other hand are something else. They are super high for what you get. You really are better off just getting the exam and then ordering contacts from 1800contacts which I think is what I will do next time. Their assistants have messed up my prescription a couple of times and when I picked it up, it was wrong which caused me to have to go back again. Once Dr. Sesso is gone (retires), I will no longer be going back here just due to their prices and their useless coupons. Their coupons do you absolutely no good at all. So what your insurance doesn't cover, you figure you can make up with their coupon, forget it.... read more
