(I brought my own frames.) When I received the glasses and I couldn't see out of them, I found out from a subsequent visit to my orthoptist and another optician that both pair of glasses we made incorrectly and that the prescription in one pair was way off. When I contacted Eyes on Hudson about the issues, my concerns were met with exasperation and an overall unwillingness to work with me. I have since gone to another optician who specializes in difficult prescriptions. Perhaps Eyes on Hudson is very good for general glasses. But I would not recommend the business if one has any special needs.

Although Rosemary didn't have the replacement part, she spent half an hour going through her stock to find the closest match - from another broken pair. She wouldn't stop until the had done an excellent job of fitting, including lens center and height, even though we were walk-ins. She only charged for putting the glasses back together - it was a modest fee compared with any sort of replacement. I recommend this store for their competence and kindness of the staff, especially Rosemary.

Today I went to the sole location in Tarrytown and found the male employee very gruff and curt with my husband and me. I wanted to replace a broken frame and keep the lenses. Parking was only by meter in front of the store. Traffic on Broadway was horrendous. I was told not to touch anything in the store to try on frames. This abysmal treatment has cost the company two customers. After posting this negative review, I received two phone calls from the optician explaining his paranoia with Covid-19 despite precautions taken in the store. We agreed to meet yesterday at 9:00 a.m. for me to pick up my replacement frame with my lenses. When I tried to pay him for the frame, he told me it was complimentary! What a pleasant surprise.

I texted today (Friday, 7/4/25) and found out that they are closed until Monday for the holiday. After the initial response by the shop, I received a text from Anna, who sold me the frames, etc. She asked which pair was damaged (I had bought more than one) and told me she would order new lenses first thing Monday morning. I would be able to come in on Tuesday morning, and the lenses would be replaced. I have always been very happy with Eye Gallery, but this level of service is virtually unheard of.
