Holy Guacamole!!! i had been neglecting my vision for quite a bit longer than i should have (yeeears). i waltzed into this lovely establishment, and immediately met with an incredibly mindful and knowledgeable optometrist, who assessed my vision using cutting-edge technology. they didn't even have to blow the air in my eyes! once my eyes were assessed by the pro, i was partnered with Leah Parker, who did an incredible job in helping me find the exact frames that met my very specific requirements. Leah hand-selected several glasses for me to try on, and gave a thorough rationale behind each intentional decision. Leah gave me honest feedback-- if i liked something that didn't work for my face, Leah helped me explore other options. Going to the eye doctor has always kinda been like going to the dentist for me. a dreadful, uncomfortable, expensive task. i walked out of the office today with a brand new pair of glasses, and my out of pocket wasn't as offensive as i feared. oh, and one last comment: when i picked up my glasses, Leah adjusted them to fit my face PERFECTLY. i always used to get my glasses from an online-only place, and i'll never make that mistake again. when it comes to correcting my vision, i want something both reliable and precise. my eyes can FEEL the difference between the accuracy of these lenses and the online ones. anyway, thanks for reading this far. here's a magic wish (as a thank you & parting goodbye) P.S. take a look at my photos, read the captions :) read more

The service, while there, was good, but I've waited over a month for my new lenses, and I've had to call twice now to check on the status.

I have only been in for an adjustment, but the folks at the front desk and the opticians at this office are just wonderful! They are very kind, super efficient, and have an awesome selection of frames to peruse. I'll definitely recommend them to anyone looking for new glasses or in need of an adjustment. read more

If you value your vision, I would give this place a big miss. They were constantly messing up my appointment times. They weren't ready for me when I came in because somehow their records had coming in a different time than the appointment time they communicated to me. But the worst thing was my cataract surgery, My vision was actually WORSE after the surgery. I now need a magnifier to read most printed items that i was able to read without corrective lenses before the surgery. It has significantly worsened my quality of life. Nobody ever told me this could be a result of the surgery. They are lucky I'm not suing them, yet. read more

While traveling, one of the pads came out from my eyeglasses. I stopped into the Eye Group Dispensary to see if I might get a replacement. They were delightfully helpful. The woman who assisted me was friendly and said she didn't have the exact match for the remaining pad, so she replaced both. No charge and great service. Always nice to find people who provide great customer service, and with a smile. read more

Had a very bad experience here. Starting from the minute of arriving. The staff seem very unprofessional and like they are under a lot of pressure to upsell services. The people who fit you with the glasses have a major issue with over-sharing about their personal lives to the point it is very uncomfortable. They also tried to get me into glasses that they liked, and not styles I liked. The most difficult part was the billing. They definitely want to sell additional services, and then I had major billing problems where they keep mailing bills for services above and beyond what I understood I had to pay. I have great insurance, but the additional I had put on my HSA and thought it was done. Now keep getting bill after bill. read more

After my-not so-good experience at another Optometry center, this place was a breath of fresh air. The other comments seem to describe another place. Making an appointment was easy, even during the pandemic. Instead of wait of weeks, it was just a few days. The receptionist was very professional, parking was easy, they validate your parking. I want to thank Monique, and James for their patience while I chose frames that complimented my face. I took my time, but they were nothing but professional, and kind. I went here to get my presciption filled. It's located in the building I work in, so it is convenient. Also they had a pair of frames I was looking for that I couldn't really find anywhere else I have looking. They were very helpful and answered my questions and set me up. A few years back, I went to the eye doctors in the adjoining clinic. They did a good job, but I always felt that they didn't get my prescription quite right. I did find another doctor who is the only one who gets it right the first time. (yes, I am very particular and very sensitive to minor variations on my glasses). For convenience, I'd still be going here if my wife hadn't found my current doctor. read more

This is a review based on the receptionist customer service, NOT the doctors. Dr. Nudelman is wonderful and extremely thorough and I would recommend him to everyone. However, the customer service from one of the receptionists needs some attention (her name was Moniesha). I called in to ask to have my prescription sent to me via email so that I could order my glasses through an external site. I have done this many times in the past and prior to this recent request, I have been treated very well. I initially called right when they opened. I was told I would receive my prescription via email when "she had time". Almost 3 hours passed by so I called back (in hopes to talk to someone else - maybe someone who had done this for me before in the past (very quickly) and was nice about it) but the same receptionist answered. I was very nice and simply asked if she could provide me an eta on when I would receive my email as I was trying to complete my online order for my glasses. She got snarky and said "I'm really busy and that's why I told you I would send it when I had time. Fine, I'll just do it now." I understand being busy or having a bad morning but I don't think there's ever an excuse for making customers feel like they are putting you out for a simple request. This could have been dealt with more professionally in my opinion. read more

My go to place for glasses, contacts and eye checkups. I've been going to the Eye Group for over 10 years, used to work in the neighboring building. So of course I picked the closest place, but I always got such good service. That even afterwards I had to keep coming back. I've moved eight times since I started going here, even to Washington, and I keep coming back. The office staff is always professional, sometimes busy but I always great customer service. Dr. Nudelman is just wonderful, friendly, informative and always very professional. I get my glasses and contacts from there as well, and they are always able to advise on my insurance exactly what I can buy without going over my budget. Order contacts or glasses and they get them quickly. They validate the parking under the building, so don't forget your ticket. read more

One star for the glasses shop - their professionals need cultural sensitivity training. When I asked to be shown which frames were low bridge fit out of the hundreds of frames they carry, I was told they don't carry "Asian frames" and the best method of finding a fit was to just "try them all on." Great use of time! So, if you care about diversity or value your time, be wary. Five stars for optometrist experience. Minimal waiting, personable optometrist, no complaints. read more

Lovely, that's the best way to describe my experience with Leah. She listened to my style preferences (cateyes, vintage, and sparkles) and quickly pulled a selection of frames to try on. One frame was clearly the top choice yet she offered to bring in a few more selections just to make sure. So, freaking nice!!! While the second round didn't produce a winner, I was now confident in my top choice. She expertly measured, offered options in ordering, and was able to max out my insurance with no $$$ owed. I've been a patient at the Eye Group Dispensary for all my routine vision care for the past nine years. Their convenient downtown location was the main reason I originally visited. Both Dr. Nudelman and Dr. Grieves are highly professional but also very friendly and caring eye doctors. It has been easy to get appointments for my yearly check-up. The Eye Group Dispensary has a nice selection of glasses on site, and they can usually get my contact lens prescription filled within less than a week. When my glasses break or need an adjustment, they've actually fixed or adjusted my glasses for free, in addition to giving me free samples of contact lens solution. While their prices may not be as low as places like Lenscrafters', the Eye Group Dispensary's quality of care and customer service is worth the extra price. I really appreciate being consistently treated as a patient and a person. read more

This was my first visit. The location was easy to find. I arrived on time but was disappointed at having to wait 25 minutes to be seen. The person at the front desk did not seem to concerned when, after waiting 15 minutes, I confirmed I had the correct time for my appointment. After checking a second time I was informed all the exam rooms were full. The wait is really the only negative experience. The technician and doctor were great. Very thorough and professional. The doctor ordered an additional test that I learned wasn't covered by my vision insurance so they offered to call my medical insurance to determine what they might cover. The optician was also knowledgeable about my vision insurance and got me a new pair of frames instead of reusing the frames in my older/backup glasses. read more

I'll be honest, I went here because it's in the lobby of my office building. But I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the staff. Dr. Nudelman is a very sweet guy and took me through my eye exam quickly and easily. Also, when my online contact lens order turned out to take longer than expected (I have to wait another week for lenses even though the one in my right eye has a tear!), the front desk staff was very helpful in getting me a free trial sample pair of lenses that I could use in the meantime without having to buy a whole box of them - talk about helpful. If you pay cash up front here, you also get a 15% discount on all exam charges. read more

I also had Dr. Nuddleman. He was really awesome and went through all the ins and outs and that was all well and good. I've never had glasses, nor have i had a eye check since I was like 12. There were two things of irksome nature.. #1 if you only validate in one lot you should tell your clients that when you make the appointment or when you call before the appt. #2 I told you my insurance, you should know what my co-pay is and not make me wait 25 min to pay. but all in all, the glasses selection was decent i think and the Dr. was very nice. read more

I have been seeing Dr Grieve since I first got glasses as a teenager. I have no complaints. Eye Group Associates and their dispensary consists of five doctors and a selection of high end frames. The office is a pretty typical (albeit very nice) old school Portland medical office. I have gone elsewhere and regretted it. When I lived in Phoenix, I would wait for trips home to schedule eye exams. read more

Don't come here. Ever. Terrible, awful, unapologetically bad service. 30 plus minute waits after appointment time, no we're sorry, just oh, we forgot about you, it will be a few more minutes. Here I sit in the waiting room listening to the receptionists debate soul versus spirit and discuss booking a psychic. Apparently they can forget people sitting in their waiting room after they've been checked in, insurance and ID scanned, etc. There has to be a better place to get your eyes examined. I do not, whatsoever, recommend this one. read more

Doctors and front desk staff are nice, but if you want glasses, oh beware! Both techs are snarky and rude!! They don't listen to what you want but force feed you b.s. that they know what you need. The glasses they made me are the wrong power and they argued with me--as if I was lying!! yeah, as if I enjoy spending $300 per pair and cannot wear them...jeez!! It's always fun (insert sarcastic scowl here) to vett new service providers after a move. Being optically challenged I had quick need for a new eye doctor. Dr. Kimberly Mabry-Schmidt was thorough, knowledgeable and personable. She was a master of the doctor version of the assumptive close. "We'll watch that at our next visit". "I'm not worried about that yet, but we'll check it next time". It made me think we were bonding. I felt like part of a team. The clinic was professional and efficient. They didn't pressure me to buy their frames, they happily fit my old ones. They called me promptly when my glasses were ready. Overall, I'm happy with The Eye Group Associates and I look forward to my next visit. read more

Dr. Mabry is awesome - a great blend of vivacious and knows-her-stuff-cold. I also very much appreciate the focus here on eye health and proper prescriptions rather than on selling marked-up contacts and eyeglasses. This is the worst eye doctor experience I've ever had. To start the receptionist wasn't wearing a mask so that should of been my first clue. Then the doctor seemed to be talking about everything but what we were doing. Then when attempting to pick out glasses I kept getting told what I needed and kept being shown things I specifically said I did not want. And he was pushy and extremely rude about it. And the doctor didn't seem to be concerned when I mentioned how I felt to her. It was also a struggle to pay. They couldn't pull up my insurance but had it just fine my husband earlier today. Finally I asked if I could just pay what I knew was my copay already and I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone move slower to get change. I would of been fine and would of probably just shrugged it off if not for the awful salesperson and the receptionist not having a mask. It's a medical office for God sake. Never again. read more

How can I be 41 and have just now, finally found a terrific eye doctor/clinic? I had a severe eye infection that was so bad I couldn't open my eyes--my boyfriend got to searching and calling and after 2 clinics turned us down for a "squeezed in" appointment, one of them referred us to The Eye Group Associates. So glad they did! They saw me right away (I saw Dr. Grieve, but I am confident all the doctors would provide as great of an experience there), they took plenty of time checking everything, asking me lots of questions to get the whole picture and then went through a very thorough and easy to understand explanation of what had been going in my eyeballs. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and courteous! I will recommend this clinic to all who need eye care. read more

I drive nearly 3 hours to come to the Eye Group. The office staff is warm, welcoming, and the actual office location is as hip and cool as they come. The doctors are extremely thorough and take their time with you. The frame selection is top of the line and they often carry one of a kind frames that you can't find anywhere else. I irritated my eye and wanted to use an eye patch while I was working because it was still very sensitive, so I dropped into this place because it was located near my office. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful and tried to help me out. Unfortunately, the doctor wouldn't allow them to give me an eye patch because they said they would be liable if there was anything wrong with my eye. First of all, that was a load of BS and second of all, they would be protected by Good Samaritan Law. The doctor didn't even come out from the back, they had the front desk person deliver the news. What ever happened to common courtesy? The only way to get this doctor to be friendly is by opening your wallet. They may very well have a decent operation there, but I will never know because I am not going back to this place. read more

I'm sorry to say this was the worst experience buying glasses ever. The first make was wrong. The gentleman argued but sent them back. The last time I went in for a fitting, I never got to look through them. He put them on and off so quickly. Now I have them and the one lens is more like a magnifying glass than my prescription.
