At the time of my appointment, I requested some time to think about how I want to proceed with payments since the office wanted me to purchase unusually expensive products. About a month later, I received a text message to clarify how I would like to proceed with payment, which I appreciated. However, I shortly found out from my insurance the office pre-emptively used my insurance benefits without my authorization prior to them asking how I would like to proceed which was super shady. When I tried to clarify the situation, the office backtracked what they originally said. Trust. lost. Very unprofessional. I found the communications unnecessarily microaggressive and distasteful, would not recommend this business.

I've been coming here for at least 5 years, and normally it's been great--but my last two visits? Not so much. I ordered Rx sunglasses and didn't get the original lenses. Was told they don't do that, which confused me because I've been getting the original lenses along side my Rx lenses for the previous 3 sunglass orders. Most recently, when I went to pick up my glasses, they couldn't find the case. I got handed a generic one that didn't even fit properly. Ask for another one, and they tried to hand me a soft sided case. And a lens wipe? Nope. "We don't do that anymore," I was told. The office used to give you a bag, a small bottle of lens cleaner, and a fresh lens wipe-felt like a little gift each time. Not sure if it's tariffs or what, but something's changed.

Costco Optical Review Rancho Cordova…read more I highly recommend Dr. Dora Szymanowicz at Costco Optical on White Rock Rd. in Rancho Cordova. When I went to see Dr. Dora Szymanowicz, I had already visited Kaiser to get my 2020 eyeglass prescription and my contact lens prescription. My purpose for going is that I was not happy with my vision with my Kaiser contact lenses and fitting in 2019. Since turning 45, I have required multi-vision rigid gas permeable lenses instead of mono-vision rigid gas permeable lenses. Apparently, I am a complicated case because Costco is the third place that I have tried to get someone with the proper expertise. Dr. Szymanowicz was very attentive to my needs, listening, assessing and considering my input as a lens wearer for 30+ years. She prescribed two options and when they came in assessed again. We had to try one more time and then they closed because of COVID-19. I was able to figure out and finish the last tweaks to my orders with the Optical Department. I am seeing better now than I have in the 4 years. I am very excited about this and highly recommend Dr. Dora Szymanowicz. I plan to go back for one check when her office opens again. As you probably know, a customer has to deal a lot with the Optical Department for payment, ordering and picking up orders. This can get very tricky if you have a complicated situation like I did. I want to mention how wonderful the employees that worked with me. Jackie and Heather were always so helpful. Isaac went above and beyond to make my many experiences successful. The entire experience is like they are stuck in the 90's, pre internet era! 1) you can't book online. You can only book by calling and they never answer the phone. They will call you back and then you miss the phone call and you play phone tags for like a week. 2) they won't allow you to book more than 2 appointments at one time unless you give them a debit card for a non-refundable deposit. So if you want to take your family there you have to put a deposit down. 3) they don't take credit card, only debit card or cash. 4) we were 5 min late and they refused to see us. I had to beg and beg and they agreed to see one of us. The doctor is fine once you see the doctor. But honestly, the whole booking experience is so arcane that I would not go back to them again.

I really needed glasses because it was starting to bug me that I couldn't clearly see what was on my computer screen. I went to another store and was able be seen for an eye exam immediately. I just didn't like the selection of frames. I went back here with my prescription because I liked a pair of frames they had. The customer service rep was rude and stated that I needed to pay an extra 50$ because I didn't wait to be seen by dr brown. She said if I had just the exam here, it would've saved me a lot of money. Why even tell me that, for one thing? It was just a weird sort of gotcha. For some reason, I still went through with my purchase (I really like the frames). They had to special order my size and send them to a lab to get the lenses placed. I waited another two weeks. I paid almost 300$ with coverage and realized after the fact that the lenses don't sit properly in the frame. Every time I clean them with solution, there's little beads of fluid that can't be wiped free as they are in between a gap in the frame. Wouldn't recommend the price, quality, or the customer service.

Long story short, the customer service was less than third world rate, half a day of lost time at work and the cost for fuel I get to eat due to the miscommunication on their part Leads me to never do business with them again.
