I have been seeing Dr. Kathy since I was 15 years old! She always takes good care of me and addresses any concerns I have with my contacts. My favorite part about her is our little inside joke. Every time I come in to get my annual eye exam, we make a joke that my vision gets worse and worse because of my social addiction. I mean after all our generation is attached to our self phones. She really made me feel at ease and always ensures my contacts dont cause headaches or discomfort.  The best part about her eye store is the fact that she understands the modern college student. I have been to this office for years and had gotten great service and great glasses. Unfortunately the last pair I got there was done incorrectly. I had ordered anti-glare like the one pair of glasses before which I lost. The new pair didn't work right because there was glare when I sat in front of the computer. I went back and told Dr Kathy about it, she told me to try wearing it for a few more time to see if I have the same problem. I went back a few weeks later and told her the same problem. She told me that it would take a few weeks to get back the glasses and I won't have the use of the glasses if I needed it. Since I needed the glasses for a trip, I figured I could do it after I came back. When I went back after the trip, she told me that the time to return the glasses has expired and I have to pay extra to make the adjustment. During my discussions with her assistant, it turned out that the anti-glare was of a lower quality and they have changed their lab. No wonder the prior pair was correctly done and this pair failed. They have used a cheaper lab but charged me the same price as the better lab. I now realized that Dr Kathy knew all along that she had used a cheaper anti-glare product all along and thus tried to convince me not to return the glasses. I am so disappointed with her. I have now gone to another place. If you use her, make sure she uses the better lab. read more

Dr. Kathy is incredibly warm and friendly but most importantly very knowledgeable with any questions I have about my eyes, contacts, and insurance coverage. My only reason for giving them 4/5 stars is that I never seem to find a good set of frames for me, and to be honest, in comparing with other in-store and online retailers, they tend to be a bit more expensive. read more

My friend, Imara, recommended Eye Zone Optometry to me after she was very impressed with Dr. Kathy's professionalism and kindness during her exam and follow-up appointments for contacts. When it was time for me to find a new eye doctor- I was slightly hesitant, because of some of the Yelp reviews regarding the front office- but noted that even the lower star reviews were very positive of Dr. Kathy. I called the front office- they were courteous and able to verify my insurance information, there was quite a bit of flexibility in making my appointment, and there was a reminder phone call a few days prior to the appointment. There is plenty of parking where Eye Zone Optometry is located and I was greeted by the front office staff and Dr. Kathy. I was seen on time for my appointment, Dr. Kathy was very professional and kind as my friend had told me. Additionally, Dr. Kathy is very thorough and listened to my concerns and provided advice and treatment options. The frame selection is reasonable for an independent eye doctor and the prices were very reasonable- they were significantly less than most independent eye doctors that I have visited in the past. Dr. Kathy and her staff helped me pick out a pair of polarized sunglasses that were completely covered by my benefits- so no out of pocket costs- for exam and sunglasses! There are a lot of choice for eye doctors, but I would encourage giving Dr. Kathy a try- especially if you are using insurance and don't want to spend too much out-of-pocket. PS Imara has a very difficult prescription regarding contacts, but was very happy with how willing and helpful Dr. Kathy was in the follow-up appointments. read more

My wife got an infected eye from a contact lens being in too long. It was really bad, and she was in a lot of pain. We needed help, and help fast. Someone close by. We contacted Eye Zone. Karen answered the phone, and she was wonderful from the get go, very positive and wanted to help us. She could tell we were under a lot of stress. She called Dr. Kathy and Dr. Kathy came in right away to help us on her day off. Who does that? Dr. Kathy got the contact out, out of both eyes, gave us a prescription for the infected eye, made temporary glasses quickly so that my wife could see. We needed help and we found it. I didn't get the receptionists name but by reading the reviews I can guarantee Vivian was the one who was incredibly RUDE. I am picky with my style of glasses so I like to browse locations and check if i like their selection before I actually make an appointment so I walk in, I see a lot of glasses that I like and Vivian starts helping me select a few and she put them to the side so I can try the ones I like all at once. She mentioned to me about a particular frame that they can get other colors in that same style so when I asked her what colors she said oh only brown and tortoise. So I said hmm well I really like these so maybe I can take a picture of it so I can see if there's more colors then she said "we don't like people doing that because you're wasting my time and the doctors time and you taking a picture means you're not going to buy them here which is bad for business so you're wasting my time by me helping you" This is no way to talk to a patient. If I like a pair of glasses I can take a picture of the style and buy them WHEREVER I WANT. I would have made an appointment to PAY for my eye exam but she made me very uncomfortable I walked out midway of her unprofessionalism comments. I know maybe nothing will be done about this but oh well.. had to share my experience. I was really looking forward to meeting the doctor but not anymore. I picked this place out of the list that my insurance company provided. It was easy to make an appointment and I love that my appointment started on time. The doctor and staff are so extremely helpful. Go see Grace, she'll give you fantastic service and help you find the perfect pair of glasses to fit your face. She was very upfront with my out-of-pocket costs and even found a $100 rebate for my contacts. I ordered my annual supply and they were ready for pick up 2 days later. my wife, daughter and i were patients at this business for over a decade, and over time i discovered that the staff there was messing with our insurance thru VSP, they would iincorrectly inform us that the an exam or contacts or glasses were not covered under insurance, and tell us to pay cash, my daughter and wife got angry and moved to another doctor, yesterday , Vivian tried to deceive me again, re the coverage and only after i called VSP and they in turn called eyezone, was the benefits claim transacted, if you use this clinic, caveat emptor, yesterday was my last visit, it appears to me that they have quite the scam going.
